"Skripsi ini membahas perbandingan bentuk dan makna reduplikasi yang terdapat dalam naskah-naskah pada empat periode bahasa di Indonesia: periode bahasa Melayu Kuna, Melayu Klasik, Melayu Peralihan, dan bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian linguistik diakronis dengan metode deskripsi komparatif. Teori yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah teori klasifikasi bentuk dan makna reduplikasi yang dikemukakan oleh Harimurti Kridalaksana (2007) yang dikombinasikan dengan teori Abdul Chaer (2008). Hasil dari penelitian ini: dalam periode bahasa Melayu Kuna-bahasa Indonesia, bentuk reduplikasi yang bertahan adalah reduplikasi fonologis, dwilingga, dwilingga berimbuhan (me- dan se-), dan paduan leksem yang mengandung reduplikasi. Adapun makna reduplikasi yang bertahan adalah 'jamak', 'intensif', dan 'iteratif'.

This thesis discusses comparisons reduplicated forms and meanings contained in the manuscripts in Indonesian languages in four periods: the period of Ancient Malay, Malay Classic, Transitional Malay, and Indonesian. This research is a diachronic linguistic with comparative-description method. The theory used in this research is the theory of classification of form and meaning of reduplication expressed by Harimurti Kridalaksana (2007) combined with the theory expressed by Abdul Chaer (2008). The results of this study: in the period of Ancient-Malay-Indonesian language, reduplication's form that still exist are phonological reduplication, dwilingga, dwilingga berimbuhan (me- dan se-), and alloys that contain reduplicated lexemes; and reduplication's meaning that still exist are 'plural', 'intensive', and 'iterative'."
