"God Bless merupakan salah satu pelopor pergerakan musik rock di Indonesia. Setelah Koes Bersaudara memperkenalkan musik rock kepada masyarakat Indonesia lewat lagu-lagu The Beatles, God Bless pun mulai memperkaya khasanah musik rock di Indonesia lewat lagu-lagu bercorak Genesis dan Deep Purple. Pada awal terbentuknya, God Bless merupakan gabungan dari beberapa anak tnuda yang merupunyai visi yang sama dalam bermusik, yaitu memainkan musik rock yang tidak mengikuti selera pasar. Melalui God Bless, individu-individu yang terlibat di dalamnya mulai bereksplorasi untuk memperoleh warna musik rock God Bless sebenarnya. Dalam perjalanan karimya, God Bless juga tidak terlepas dari bantuan beberapa orang lain yang turut mendukung keberhasilan rnereka. Kerja kolektif dari beberapa individu ini yang kemudian memungkinkan bagi para pendengar musik di Indonesia untuk menikmati lagu-lagu God Bless. God Bless tidak hanya piawai dalam mengaransemen musik rock, namun juga rnelalui link lagu mereka mencoba untuk peduli terhadap keadaan sosial yang terjadi di masyarakat Indonesia. Lirik lagu mereka merupakan himbauan kepada setnua pihak di masyarakat agar dapat membangun negara Indonesia rnenjadi lebih baik. Perjalanan panjang dan eksistensi God Bless selama 24 tahun merupakan salah satu factor yang men jadikan mereka sebuah legend di blantika musik rock Indonesia.

God Bless is one of a pioneer in the movement of rock music in Indonesia. After Koes Bersaudara introduced the rock music scene in Indonesia with The Beatles' songs, later God Bless began to introduce the rock music scene in Indonesia with songs from Genesis and Deep Purple.At first, God Bless was a unity of several teenagers who have the same vision in music, which is to play rock music without concerning the music industry demand. In God Bless. every member in the band gets involved in exploration of sound ;aid musical characters to obtain the true character of God B!: s' music. In its career, some persons also supported the success of God Bless. These persons work collectively with every member of God Bless which later also being a determinant factor of the success of God Bless. Their collective action, which is. enables all of the fans and audiences to listen to God Bless' songs in CD's or cassettes. God Bless not just good in arranging music, but God Bless made its lyrics very well. Most of its lyrics are about social condition in Indonesia, and God Bless try to be concerned with all these matters. With songs, they want to share their thoughts and visions with all their audience. "Penelitian yang berjudul Giant Step dan Musik Rock Progresif di Indonesia 1970-1985 berusaha mengkaji sejarah perkembangan musik rock progresif di Indonesia pada tahun 1970 hingga 1985 yang ditandai dengan hadirnya grup musik Giant Step. Penelitian tersebut dikembangkan dengan metode sejarah. Tahap pertama yang dilakukan adalah heuristik kemudian verifikasi, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Aliran musik rock progresif mulai populer di Indonesia pada periode 1970-an. Kepopuleran aliran musik progresif rock mulai pudar pada periode 1980-an seiring berakhirnnya grup musik Giant Step. Grup musik Giant Step merupakan salah satu pelopor yang memberikan pengaruh terhadap dunia musik Indonesia. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penulis mengangkat perjalanan grup musik Giant Step yang memperkenalkan sekaligus mempopulerkan aliran rock progresif di dalam perjalanan sejarah dunia musik Indonesia.
