Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan teknik studikepustakaan dan studi dokumen. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwastrategi politik GLAA dalam melakukan lobi dan advokasi berhasil dalam penetapanRUU 18-482 atau The Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Equality Amendment Act 2009 untuk menjadi peraturan hukum di District of Columbia.
