"Athapaskan languages are well known for their intricate morphology, in particular the complexity of their verbs. The significance of these languages for linguistic theory is widely acknowledged. In this book Keren Rice offers a rich typological survey of morpheme ordering in Athapaskan verbs, with implications for both synchronic grammar and language change. Arguing against a view that sees morpheme order in Athapaskan languages as templatic and essentially without principle, she shows that verb structure is in fact widely predictable across languages if appropriate syntactic factors and an overarching principle of semantic scope are taken into account. The presentation also includes a detailed study of argument and aspectual systems. This landmark volume is the first major comparative study of its type for the Athapaskan language family, combining descriptive depth with a contemporary theoretical perspective. Clear and insightful, it will be welcomed by Athapaskanists, typologists, and historical and theoretical linguists alike."

"The present work is the first installment of a long-rings project, born of the conviction that progress in Indo-European studies is contingent upon a thorough reconsideration of central morphology in the light of the theory laryngeal, without dissolving the whole into a Kurylowtczian hotbed of analogistlc ferment. For this purpose the area of Sauisure’s initial progress servos as a starting point, followed by other questions that concern Indo-European morphology generally and cannot be localized in single dialects, including the noun and the pronoun. "Written in a simple style that requires no advanced mathematical or statistical background, A First Course in Order Statistics introduces the general theory of order statistics and their applications. The book covers topics such as distribution theory for order statistics from continuous and discrete populations, moment relations, bounds and approximations, order statistics in statistical inference and characterization results, and basic asymptotic theory. There is also a short introduction to record values and related statistics.
This classic text will aid readers in understanding much of the current literature on order statistics, a burgeoning field of study that is a requisite for any practicing statistician and an essential part of the training for students in statistics. The authors have updated the text with suggestions for further reading that readers may use for self-study.

"The purpose of this study is to analyze what trade - off theory and pecking order theory able to explain the financing decision in Indonesian capital market. In this study, determinant of trade - off theory are non - debt tax shields, size, and liquidity. The determinant of pecking order theory are protifibility, cash deficit and investment. Sample in this study are 40 manufacturing companies that active and liquid at Indonesian capital market over two years, from 2005 to 2006. Thus ,this study have 80 observations. Sample used the method of purposive sampling. Multiple regression model is used to test this hypothesis. The result of this trade - of theory approach is found that partially all proxy aren't statistically significant. But simultaneosly non debt tax shields, size and liquidity variable give statistically significant. While pecking order theory approach is found that partially only cash deficit and investment variable statistiscally significant. But simultaneously protability, cash, deficit and invesment variable have statistically significant. So, firms that go public at Indonesian capital amrket tend to follow pecking order theory than trade - off theory in their financing decision."
