"Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh struktur finansial terhadap kinerja perusahaan manufaktur di Asean 5. Sampel penelitian adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di bursa efek di Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, Singapura, dan Thailand. Data, sebagai sampel, diperoleh dari laporan keuangan perusahaan dari 2014 hingga 2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan data panel yang kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis model regresi linier. Struktur modal ditunjukkan oleh total utang terhadap total aset dan total utang terhadap total ekuitas, sementara return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE) sebagai proksi kinerja perusahaan dan dikontrol oleh tangibilitas aset, ukuran perusahaan, dan pertumbuhan penjualan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa total utang terhadap total aset mempengaruhi return on asset signifikan negatif, dan total utang terhadap total ekuitas mempengaruhi return on equity signifikan negatif. Hasil penelitian juga menemukan bahwa tangibilitas aset berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan sedangkan ukuran perusahaan dan pertumbuhan penjualan mempengaruhi kinerja perusahaan signifikan positif.

The purpose of this research was to find the effect of capital structure on firm performance in Asean 5 Country. The research samples are manufacturing companies listed on stock exchanges in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. The data, as samples, is obtained from the companys financial statements from 2014 to 2018. This study uses panel data which then analyzed by linear regression model analysis. Capital structure showed by total debt to total assets, total debt to total equity and long term debt to total equity while return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE) as the proxy of firm performance and controlled by asset tangibility, size, and sales growth. The research found that total debt to total assets affect return on asset negatively significant, total debt to total equity affect return on equity negatively significant. The result also found that asset tangibility affect negatively significant to the company performance while size of the company and sales growth affect positively significant firm performance."
