"Film My People My Country (2019) adalah salah satu film Cina yang termasuk dalam kategori film Melodi Utama. Sebagaimana karakter umum film Melodi Utama, film My People, My Country menampilkan pesan propaganda dengan fokus pada penghormatan terhadap bangsa, partai, dan militer. Film ini memiliki keunikan karena disutradarai oleh 7 sutradara terkemuka Cina yaitu; Chen Kaige, Zhang Yibai, Huan Hu, Xue Xiaolu, Xu Zheng, Ning Hao, dan Wen Muye. Film ini mengangkat kisah para tokoh dari kalangan masyarakat biasa, dalam 7 segmen yang dibagi berdasarkan beberapa momentum penting selama 70 tahun berdirinya Republik Rakyat Cina. Film ini berhasil meraih box office dan memenangkan beberapa penghargaan film nasional. Berdasarkan karakteristik film My People, My Country, penelitian ini ingin membahas pemaknaan yang terdapat pada 7 segmen film. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan film sebagai media hiburan yang tepat sekaligus memaknai masing-masing segmen, yang dirilis pada waktu yang tepat, saat seantero Cina diliputi nuansa kebangsaan memperingati 70 tahun berdirinya RRC 1 Oktober 2019.

My People, My Country (2019) is a Chinese film that is included in the Main Melody film category. Like the general character of the Main Melody films, the film My People, My Country presents a propaganda message with a focus on respect for the nation, the party, and the military. This film is unique because it was directed by 7 leading Chinese directors, namely; Chen Kaige, Zhang Yibai, Huan Hu, Xue Xiaolu, Xu Zheng, Ning Hao, and Wen Muye. This film tells the story of the characters from the common people, in 7 segments which are divided based on several important moments during the 70 years of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The film was successful at the box office and won several national film awards. Based on the characteristics of the film My People, My Country, this study wants to discuss the meaning contained in the 7 film segments. Using a qualitative descriptive method, this study aims to show film as an appropriate entertainment medium as well as interpret each segment, which was released at the right time, when the whole of China was filled with national nuances commemorating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC on October 1, 2019."
