"Timbulan sampah di DKI Jakarta sebesar 5.598 ton per hari (BPS DKI Jakarta, 2012) dapat menimbulkan masalah bila tidak dikelola dengan baik dan terintegrasi. Pengelolaan limbah padat dengan model Divided Transit Material Processing (DTMP) menekankan pemikiran proaktif dan sistem desentralisasi terutama di daerah apartemen. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu besar potensi pengurangan sampah yang terjadi menuju Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir (TPA) di apartemen Essence on Darmawangsa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu SNI 19-3964-1994 tentang metode pengambilan dan pengukuran contoh timbulan dan komposisi sampah perkotaan. Dari hasil pengukuran, didapat timbulan rata-ratanya sebesar 0,578 kg/orang/hari dan volume rata-ratanya sebesar 5,07 L/orang/hari dengan komposisi sampah terdiri dari 39,4% sampah organik, 21,4% kertas, 17,0% pamper dan pembalut wanita, 14,0% plastik, 4,00% kaca, 1,40% logam, 0,50% tekstil, 0,100% kayu, dan 2,20% sampah lain-lain. Untuk potensi sampah layak jual yaitu sebesar 18,1% dan sampah layak kompos sebesar 31,5% dari total timbulan rata-rata. Sementara itu, teknis operasional dirancang dengan menggunakan model DTMP yang terdiri dari pemilahan yang disertai pemikiran proaktif, pewadahan dan pengumpulan yang terdiri dari organik dan anorganik, pengolahan yang dilakukan pengelola sampah, serta pemindahan dan pengangkutan residu. Selain itu, dirancang pula Tempat Pengolahan Sampah (TPS) 3R. Potensi pengurangan sampah adalah sebesar 39,4% yang diharapkan dapat mengurangi beban TPA Bantar Gebang.

The waste generation in Jakarta at 5,598 ton per day (BPS DKI Jakarta, 2012) can cause problems if it is not well managed and integrated. Solid waste management (SWM) with Divided Transit Material Processing (DTMP) model emphasizes proactive thinking and decentralized systems, focusing on SWM in apartments. The aim from this study is to measure the waste reduction potential of Essence apartment on Darmawangsa. The method used is SNI 19-3964-1994 on methods of sampling and measurement of the waste generation and composition of the municipal waste. The average waste generation is measured at 0.578 kg/person/day and the average volume at 5.07 L/person/day with the waste composition of 39.4% organic waste, 21.4% paper, 17.0% pamper and sanitary napkins, 14.0% plastic, 4.00% glass, 1.40% metals, 0.50% textiles, 0.100% wood, and 2.20% other waste. The potential reduction of recyclable waste is equal to 18.1% and compostable waste is about 31.5% of the total waste generation. Meanwhile, technical operation designed using DTMP model consists of separation with proactive thinking, storage and collection consisting of organic and anorganic fraction, waste processing, and transfer and transport of residue. In addition, Material Recovery Facility (MRF) was designed as a solid waste treatment facility. The potential waste reduction is obtained at 39.4%, expected to reduce the load impact on Bantar Gebang landfill."
