"This book collects interdisciplinary evidences and presents an answer from the perspective of computing, namely, the theory of cognitive prism. To recognize an environment, an intelligent system only needs to classify objects, structures them based on the connection relation (not through measuring), subjectively orders the objects, and compares with the target environment, whose knowledge is similarly structured. The intelligent system works, therefore, like a prism: when a beam of light (a scene) reaches (is perceived) to an optical prism (by an intelligent system), some light (objects) is reflected (are neglected), those passed through (the recognized objects) are distorted (are ordered differently). So comes the term 'cognitive prism'. "

"Fenomena mengenai kasus bunuh diri yang dilakukan anak-anak di Kabupaten Gunungkidul sudah bergaung sejak tahun 2005. Faktor kemiskinan dan tingkat pendidikan yang rendah nampaknya salah satu penyebab. Berdasarkan kasus bunuh diri tersebut, maka yang menjadi pertanyaan penulis adalah apakah penyebab terjadinya kasus bunuh diri anak-anak di Gunungkidul dan sejauh mana konsep cognitive map yang berkembang pada diri anak dapat menjelaskan fenomena tersebut. Dari hasil penelusuran data melalui internet dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat asosiasi antara kasus-kasus bunuh diri yang sudah terjadi sebelumnya yang dilakukan oleh orang dewasa dengan kasus bunuh diri yang dilakukan anak-anak. Hal ini sekaligus mengklarifikasi adanya keterkaitan antara kasus bunuh diri sebelumnya dengan cognitive map yang berkembang pada anak-anak bahwa, jika ada masalah solusinya adalah melakukan bunuh diri.

Phenomenon of suicidal case done by children in Gunungkidul Regency has been heard since 2005. Poverty and low level of education seem to be the cause. Based on those suicidal cases, I questioned the reason why those children committed suicide in Gunungkidul Regency and how far is the cognitive map concept developed inside those children could explain the phenomenon. Through internet data research, it is concluded that there are connections between previous suicide cases done by adults and suicide cases done by children. This also clarifies the connection between previous suicide cases with cognitive map that developed inside those children, that if a problem occurred, suicide is the solution."
