"[ABSTRAK
Seorang anak keturunan Jepang yang berhasil menjadi kepala negara di negara lain dan berhasil membangkitkan perekonomian negara tersebut dari keterpurukan dan juga berhasil memerangi terorisme yang sejak lama telah menjadi momok bagi masyarakat Peru?, itulah hal yang selalu dielu-elukan oleh Jepang terhadap sosok Alberto Fujimori, mantan Presiden Peru 1990-2000, walaupun segudang kasus kriminal telah ia lakukan selama masa pemerintahannya hingga akhirnya ia pun kabur ke Jepang. Fokus penelitian ini adalah mengenai pemberitaan media massa Jepang akan sosok Alberto Fujimori setelah beliau ?kabur‟ ke Jepang, yaitu akhir tahun 2000. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana citra Alberto Fujimori digambarkan melalui pemberitaan media massa Jepang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan data primer artikel-artikel surat kabar Jepang dan data sekunder berupa buku bacaan yang berkaitan dengan tema penelitian. Analisis dalam penelitian ini berupa kutipan artikel surat kabar Jepang yang kemudian dikaji melalui teori analisis wacana kritis. Pada akhirnya penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa citra Alberto Fujimori yang digambarkan melalui pemberitaan media massa Jepang adalah citra baik. Meskipun terdapat pemberitaan kontra, namun hal tersebut tidak mengubah citra baik Fujimori di media Jepang.;

A son of Japanese immigrant who became a President in another country outside Asia and successfully save the country from economic failure and fight against terrorism which is already appear from many years before and threatening Peru‟s society?, that was the things which is always become a pride for Japanese people about it‟s descent, Alberto Fujimori a former President of Peru for 1990-2000, although so many criminal cases he has done during his regime until he finally fled to Japan. The focus of this research is how the Japanese mass media news describe about this figure after he ?escaped‟ to Japan at the end of 2000. The purpose of this research is to examine image of Alberto Fujimori illustrated through the Japanese mass media. The method of this research is qualitative with newspaper articles as the primary data and several books which is related with the theme as the secondary data. The analysis of this research is quotation from newspaper articles and analyzed it with critical discourse analysis theory. Finally this research concluding that the image of Alberto Fujimori which is described by Japanese mass media is good image. "Peristiwa terorisme memiliki nilai berita dan tidak mungkin dilewatkan oleh media. Pemberitaan terorisme dalam pandangan kritis tidaklah bebas nilai melainkan dipengaruhi banyak hal termasuk kepentingan dan ideologi media. Peran media dalam pemberitaan terorisme tidak hanya menyampaikan dan menyediakan informasi, melainkan mengkonstruksi realitas melalui wacana media yang menghasilkan wacana publik. Penelitian ini berupaya untuk menggambarkan wacana terorisme oleh media Jawa Pos pada peristiwa terorisme tahun 2018, sekaligus berupaya untuk menjelaskan faktor apa saja yang berpengaruh dalam pembentukan wacana. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis wacana kritis milik Fairclough yakni melalui tahapan analisis teks, analisis praktik diskursif, sampai dengan analisis sosial budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam pemberitaan terorisme tahun 2018, 1) Surat kabar Jawa Pos memiliki ketertarikan khusus terhadap isu terorisme, 2) Pro pemerintah, yakni fokus pada menyoroti tindakan sekaligus keberhasilan pemerintah dalam menangani aksi terorisme, yang secara tidak langsung merupakan upaya Jawa Pos untuk mengkonstruksi realitas tertentu yakni mengarahkan agar publik mempercayai bahwa pemerintah telah melakukan banyak hal dan aksi terorisme ditangani dengan baik oleh pemerintah, 3) Pemberitaannya dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yakni faktor individu, rutinitas media, organisasi media, ekstra media, dan ideologi media. Ideologi media tercatat sebagai faktor yang memegang peranan paling penting pada terciptanya wacana pro pemerintah melalui pemberitaan yang disajikan, dan 4) Pemberitaan terorisme versi Jawa Pos telah dijalankan dengan memegang prinsip jurnalisme positif sekaligus melakukan upaya counter-terrorism.

Terrorist events have news value and cannot be ignored by the media. Reporting on terrorism in a critical view is not value-free but is influenced by many things including media interests and ideology. The role of the media in reporting on terrorism is not only conveying and providing information, but also constructing reality, namely through media discourse to produce public discourse. This study attempts to describe the terrorist discourse carried out by the Jawa Pos during the 2018 terrorism incident, while at the same time trying to describe the factors that influence the formation of this discourse. The research was conducted using the Fairclough critical discourse analysis method, namely through the stages of text analysis, analysis of discursive practices, to socio-cultural analysis. The results of the study show that in reporting on terrorism in 2018, 1) Jawa Pos has special interest in the issue of terrorism, 2) Jawa Pos is pro-government, focus on highlighting the actions and success of the government in dealing with acts of terrorism, which is indirectly an attempt by Jawa Pos to constructing a certain reality, namely directing the public to believe that the government has done many things and terrorism issue are well handled by the government, 3) Terrorism news are influenced by several factors, namely individual factors, media routines, media organizations, extra media, and media ideology. Media ideology is recorded as the factor that plays the most important role in the creation of pro-government discourse through the news it presents, and 4) The Jawa Pos version of terrorism reporting is also carried out by upholding the principles of positive journalism and counter-terrorism."

"Selama kampanye Pemilu 1999 umumnya media massa Indonesia mengkonstruksikan partai politik ibarat grup musik; dan menjadikan para tokohnya sebagai selebritis. Pada masa itu, koran-koran nasional menggambarkan partai politik sebagai alat pengumpul massa. Sementara fungsi parpol sebagai perantara (broker) dalam suatu bursa ide-ide (clearing house of ideas) dalam kehidupan berdemokrasi tidak terlihat dalam pengkonstruksian tersebut. Menariknya, hal itu terjadi dalam kondisi dimana setiap media memiliki motivasi yang berbeda-beda, entah itu ideologis, idealis, politis, ataupun ekonomis, dalam membuat berita politik.

During the 1999-campaign period generally the mass media in Indonesia constructed political parties like a music group; and present the politicians acts as celebrities. At that time, national newspapers describe political parties as the instrument to harvested masses. Meanwhile the political party functions, as broker within the clearinghouse of ideas in the democratic lives didn?t appear within the political party?s discourse. In spite of the media have different interests one each other in news making the political parties, such as ideological, idealism, political, and economic or market factors.

"Penelitian ini menggunakan Muted Group Theory untuk membahas mengenai praktik wacana pembungkaman perempuan yang terjadi di media. Pemberitaan mengenai pelanggaran Syariat Islam yang melibatkan perempuan merupakan salah satu sarana yang digunakan oleh kelompok dominan (laki-laki) untuk membisukan perempuan.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis wacana kritis milik Norman Fairclough. Dalam menganalisis dimensi mikro (teks), kerangka analisis Theo Van Leeuwen dipinjam untuk membantu mendeteksi representasi perempuan ditampilkan pada teks. Sedangkan dimensi meso (discourse practice) dan makro (sosiocultural practice) dilakukan melalui teknik wawancara dan kajian literatur.
Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa pembungkaman perempuan dilakukan dengan meniadakan suara dan pendapat perempuan, dengan tidak menjadikannya sebagai narasumber. Perempuan hanya diposisikan sebagai objek pemberitaan dan suaranya diwakilkan dan direpresentasikan dengan bahasa dan perspektif laki-laki.

This research was done by used of Muted Group Theory to assessed the practice of muteness on women in the media. The reported shari?a violation that involved women were one of the tool used by the dominant group (men) to muted the women.
This research is a qualitative study with Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis (cda). We used Theo Van Leeuwen's analysis framework to analized the micro dimensional aspects (texts), and to further assisted in detecting women representation that occured in those texts. Meanwhile, the meso (discourse practice) and macro (sociocultural practice) dimensions were assessed by interview and literature review.
According to the results, were found that the muteness of women were done by silencing the voice and the opinion of women, thus hindered women to act as a informant. Women were positioned as object of report only and their voice were represented through the language and perspective of men."

Penelitian ini mengkaji wacana berita putusan persidangan Basuki Tjahaja Purnama atas dugaan penistaan agama tanggal 9 Mei 2017 dalam surat kabar Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung dan S ddeutsche Zeitung dengan menggunakan pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis AWK Fairclough. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif berbentuk studi pustaka. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-analisis kontrastif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa surat kabar Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung dan S ddeutsche Zeitung cenderung berpihak pada Basuki Tjahaja Purnama Ahok dan membahas konflik agama, tetapi menggunakan strategi wacana yang berbeda. Surat kabar Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung lebih berani mengungkapkan putusan persidangan yang dimenangkan oleh pihak Islamis, sedangkan surat kabar S ddeutsche Zeitung mendeskripsikan perlahan-lahan imaji radikal dan proses persidangan Basuki Tjahaja Purnama.

ABSTRACT
This research examines the news discourse of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama rsquo s court verdict for alleged blasphemy on May 9th, 2017 in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and S ddeutsche Zeitung newspapers using the Critical Discourse Analysis approach CDA Fairclough. This research is a qualitative research that is based on literature review. The method that used in this research is descriptive contrastive analysis. The result indicates that the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and S ddeutsche Zeitung newspapers tend to side with Basuki Tjahaja Purnama Ahok and discuss religious conflict, but using different discourse strategies. The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper bolder revealing court verdict won by an Islamist side, while the S ddeutsche Zeitung newspaper describes slowly the radical images and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama rsquo s court process."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian analisis wacana kritis media massa telah berkembang cepat dan meliputi beragam topik. Walaupun demikian masih sedikit analisis wacana kritis yang mempertimbangkan menggabungkan beberapa moda, yaitu multimodalitas. Tujuan dari tesis ini menganalisis multimodalitas pada teks berita daring kawasan Asia dalam rangka menemukan tampilan kuasa. Tampilan kuasa adalah bentuk reproduksi ideologi yang tercermin dari ragam gramatika, pilihan kata, dan tampilan gambar. Data merupakan teks berita topik sosial-budaya dan keamanan. Terdapat tiga tahap analisis yaitu analisis transitivitas Halliday, 1994, penilaian Martin dan White, 2005, dan visual Kress dan van Leeuwen, 2006; Caple 2013 . Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat kesamaan dari representasi analisis transitivitas yaitu mengedepankan representasi manusia dengan perbedaan jenis partisipan. Analisis penilaian menunjukkan evaluasi penghakiman dan nilai negatif yang mendominasi. Analisis visual memiliki perbedaan terhadap dua data. Teks A mengedepankan unsur pemandangan sedangkan teks B mengedepankan unsur manusia. Tidak seperti data verbal yang didominasi representasi negatif, jumlah nilai negatif gambar lebih kecil dikisaran sepertiga dari total data.

ABSTRACT
Research on critical discourse analysis of mass media have been developed rapidly and covers variety of topics. However there is still a few of critical discourse analysis which consider combining some modals which is called multimodality. The aim of this thesis is analysing multimodality of news item text of online media especially which is covering Asian region matter in order to find out the powerdisplay. Power-display is the form of ideology reproduction which is reflecting from the grammatical forms, the diction choices, and the pictures display. The data are news item text which topics are social-culture and security. There are three steps analysis which are transitivity (Halliday, 1994), appraisal (Martin and White, 2005), and visual (Kress and van Leeuwen, 2006; Caple 2013). The result of this research is some similarity on representation in transitivity analysis which is prioritizing the represent of human. Appraisal analysis shows the domination of judgement evaluation and negativity. Visual analysis shows the different result on two data. Text A proposes landscape features meanwhile text B proposes personalisation features. Unlike verbal which is dominated by negative representation, the numbers of negativity of images are less about a third part from all data."

"Serangan Hamas terhadap Israel pada 7 Oktober 2023 memicu konflik dan eskalasi baru antara Palestina dan Israel. Konflik ini menjadi sumber pemberitaan media massa di berbagai belahan dunia, tetapi pemberitaan dari media massa negara-negara Barat menuai banyak kritikan akibat bias yang terdapat dalam liputannya, termasuk dalam media massa Jerman. Penelitian ini menganalisis judul berita terkait konflik Israel-Palestina 2023 pada media massa Jerman BILD dalam portal berita daringnya, Bild.de, ketika melaporkan peristiwa konflik dalam satu bulan setelah tanggal 7 Oktober 2023. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berdasarkan teori analisis wacana kritis dari Fairclough (2010), penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan penulisan serta mengeksplorasi makna nomina yang digunakan oleh Bild.de dalam judul-judul berita. Penulis menemukan adanya bias dalam judul-judul berita yang diproduksi oleh Bild.de dalam memberitakan konflik Israel-Palestina 2023. Bias dalam judul-judul berita terlihat dalam penggunaan nomina atau kata benda yang mengasosiasikan Hamas dengan terorisme, orang-orang yang mendukung Palestina sebagai pembenci Israel, ataupun seruan yang bersifat pro-Palestina sebagai pernyataan kebencian terhadap Israel atau kaum Yahudi. Temuan ini juga menunjukkan bahwa judul-judul berita yang dikeluarkan oleh Bild.de sangat dipengaruhi oleh politik luar negeri Jerman yang mendukung Israel.
The Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 triggered a new conflict and escalation between Palestine and Israel. This conflict has become a source of mass media coverage in various parts of the world, but the news from Western mass media has received a lot of criticism due to the bias contained in its coverage, including in the German mass media. This study analyzes news headlines related to the 2023 Israel-Palestine conflict in the German mass media BILD in its online news portal, Bild.de, when reporting conflict events in the month after October 7, 2023. Using a qualitative approach based on Fairclough's (2010) critical discourse analysis theory, this study aims to explain the writing and explore the meaning of the nouns used by Bild.de in the headlines. The author found bias in the headlines produced by Bild.de in reporting the 2023 Israel-Palestine conflict. Bias in the headlines can be seen in the use of nouns that associate Hamas with terrorism, people who support Palestine as haters of Israel, or pro-Palestinian calls as a statement of hatred towards Israel or the Jews. The findings also show that the headlines issued by Bild.de are heavily influenced by German foreign policy in favor of Israel."

"Konteks realitas di era reformasi, menghadapkan pemimpin daerah pada tantangan untuk melakukan komunikasi politik yang demokratis. Namun, mereka sering dihadapkan pada hambatan kompleks. Kompleksitas misalnya ini bisa ditemukan pada kasus gaya komunikasi politik Wakil Gubernur DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, atau Ahok, saat menghadapai penolakan penertiban PKL di Pasar Tanah Abang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendikripsikan gaya komunikasi politik Ahok, dan klaim keshahihan dalam pernyataan-pernyataannya. Landasan konseptual yang digunakan adalah teori tindakan komunikatif dari Jurgen Habermas, terutama teori speech act yang komunikatif. Penelitian dilakukan dengan analisa wacana kritis, dengan model analisa wacana dari Teun Van Dijk. Hasil penenelitian menunnjukkan, gaya komunikasi politik Ahok adalah komunikasi low context. Pernyataan-pernyataan Ahok, memiliki tingkat keshahihan tinggi. Namun, gaya komunikasi politik Ahok gagal menciptakan proses komunikasi yang komunikatif, karena adanya sejumlah distorsi komunikasi.

Context of political reality in reform era, exposes local leaders on the challenges to practice the democratic political communication. However, they are often faced with complex obstacles. This complexity can be found in the case of political communication style of the Vice Governor of Jakarta, Tjahaja Basuki Purnama, or Ahok, while facing rejection regulating street vendors in Tanah Abang Market. This study aims to describe Ahok political communication style, and validity claims in his statements. Conceptual basis used is the theory of communicative action of Jürgen Habermas, particularly communicative speech act theory. The study was conducted with a critical discourse analysis, with models of discourse analysis Teun Van Dijk. The results of this study demonstrate that Ahok's communication style is low context communication. Ahok's statements have a high level of validity. Ahok's political communication style not managed to create a process of communicative communication, because of the amount of distortion of communication."
