"On valleyside slope in the study area, there is an almost continous, extremely well-defined surface layer of colluvium, resting with marked uncorformity on subjacent materials. This latter materials may be relatively fresh bedrock, weathered rock or cemented gravels (older colluvial deposits). The younger colluvial layer transgresses all of these with little apparent change in general appearance, extending into relatively thick, recent valley fills. The term “recent” is used here to refer to the surface layer of valley fill which is predominantly fined grained (sand particle size and smaller, with varyinh amounts of gravel) unconsolidated essentially non-stratified deposit which in these respects and in being physically contioguous with the valleyside colluvial layer – is the stratigraphic contemporary of the colluvial layer."

"Cekungan Browse merupakan salah satu cekungan besar yang tergabung dalam Westralian Superbasin. Cekungan Browse tersusun atas beberapa formasi dengan lingkungan pengendapan berbeda. Penelitian ini akan berfokus pada lingkungan fluvial yang terdapat pada Formasi Plover, Formasi Jamieson, Formasi Woolaston, dan Formasi Johnson pada Cekungan Browse. Metode yang digunakan adalah seismik geomorfologi, yaitu menganalisis fitur geomorfologi pada data seismik yang sebelumnya diolah melalui spektral dekomposisi, sehingga terbentuk gambaran lingkungan pengendapan pada tiap formasi. Dilakukan pencarian endapan channel dan perhitungan geometri channel untuk mengetahui arsitektur serta evolusi yang terjadi pada channel daerah penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian memperlihatkan adanya deformasi pada Formasi Plover sehingga fitur seismik sulit dikenali. Ditemukan beberapa endapan channel pada Formasi Jamieson, Formasi Johnson, dan Formasi Woolaston dengan tipe sungai braided. Arsitektur channel terlihat jelas pada lapisan Formasi Woolaston.

Browse Basin is one of the large basins that are part of the Westralian Superbasin. Browse Basin is composed of several formations with different depositional environments. This research will focus on the fluvial environment in the Plover Formation, Jamieson Formation, Woollaston Formation, and Johnson Formation in  Browse Basin. The method used is seismic geomorphology, which analyzes geomorphological features in seismic data, processed through spectral decomposition which show a picture of the depositional environment that formed in each formation. Channel deposits analysis and calculation of channel geometry was done to determine the architecture and evolution that occurred in the channel in the study area. The results this study show that there is deformation in the Plover Formation that seismic features are difficult to identify. Several channel deposits were found in the Jamieson Formation, the Johnson Formation, and the Woolaston Formation with braided river types. The channel architecture is clearly visible in the Woolaston Formation layers."
