"The book aims to address the interdisciplinary targets of watershed management in mountain regions based on the current knowledge of the subject. The focus of the book is particularly on monitoring, research, and modelling the interactions between the climate, water cycle, and aquatic ecosystem. The issues of watershed management in mountain regions in different parts of Europe, Africa, America and Asia have been the central theme of the book, which is basically divided into five sections: Institutional aspects in control of mountain regions, stream-flow processes in mountain catchments, water chemistry and biota in mountain streams and lakes, effects of forest practices and climate change on hydrological phenomena, and soil conservation and control of floods and landslides.
The practical applications and management strategies mentioned in the book, deal with the integrated resource management approach, based on the compromise between the development, conservation/ protection of the nature. Finally, the socio-economic and cultural aspects, and ecosystem prevalent in a mountain catchment are discussed in detail.

This thesis discusses the role of the National Park of Mount Ciremai and the participation of Cisantana community in the management of the Ciremai Mountain National Park, also the perception of community on TNGC management associated with regional resilience. This study used a qualitative approach. The result obtained from this study is BTNGC has undertaken an optimal task and program activities involving Cisantana community. Meanwhile, Cisantana community has not been fully involved in the TNGC management, so it has not felt any benefit from the presence of TNGC. The difference perception between Cisantana community and the government/BTNGC, has the potential to create conflict of interest that would interfere with regional resilience. Therefore, the government needs to adopt policies that can unify the perception of the existence of TNGC and look for participatory management solutions for communities affected by the determination of TNGC region

""Hydrology and the Management of Watersheds, Fourth Edition is a major revision and restructuring of this popular text. The content and scope have been improved and condensed, covering basic concepts and the fundamental aspects of hydrology and hydrologic processes, as well as methods and applications for managing watersheds. Examples throughout the book emphasize the use of web sites and access to the internet to acquire data, update methods and models, and to apply the latest technology to cope with issues of land and water use and climatic variability and change.Beyond the university classroom, Hydrology and the Management of Watersheds discusses land and water resource issues with implications for professionals in hydrology and watershed management in the United States, North America and beyond "-- Provided by publisher."

"Andesitic and basaltic lavas are the main product of the upper Miocene volcanic activities in Lubuk Sikaping region. They posses vesicular and amygdales structure, dark grey to black in colour, highly porphyritic in texture composed of plagioclase, clinopyroxene, orthopyroxene, olivine (in basalt only) and minor hornblende, magnetite and ilmenite. They (basalt and andesite) mostly fall within the calc-alkaline series on the AFM. The basalt and andesite are not primary magma since they have low Mg# and Ni contents. The lavas resemble the typical of arc setting with Nb through on the spider-diagram patterns, enrichment in large ion lithophile elements and light rare earth elements relative to high field strength elements and heavy rare earth element. They are co-magmatic as shown by the REE pattern. The lavas have high concentration of Ba, Sr, La, Rb and Ce, Zr, Th and U, and high Ba/La ratio which indicating an involvement subducted sediment in their generation. The lava from Lubuk Sikaping is product of Maninjau Crater eruption in Upper Miocene. This lava was uplifted and exposed on high level topography for a few million years, and then superimposed by a high-K calcalkaline volcanic of mainly rhyolitic tuff as a result of the reactivation of the Maninjau Crater in Pleistocene."

"This book focuses on sustainable use and protection of transboundary aquifers located along the eastern border of European Union starting from the Baltic Sea and end in the Black Sea. This publication sheds light on a wide range of real problems related to the management of groundwater, problems that are characteristic for most countries situated in the East European region. It also identifies potential threats that may materialise in the absence of cooperation between countries and appropriate measures to jointly manage the shared water resources in the region. "
