"Semua orang tua menginginkan anak-anak mereka aman di sekolah, dan semua pendidik dan penyelenggara pendidikan juga ingin menyediakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman bagi anak-anak yang belajar di sekolah tersebut. Suatu hal yang agak ganjil yakni ketika nampaknya hampir semua orang merasa tahu tentang bullying, namun seringkali justru membiarkannya terjadi. Mereka memberikan perkecualian terhadap kasus bullying di sekolah, seakan-akan bullying berbeda dengan kasus kekerasan dan abuse lainnya. Artikel ini mencoba untuk mengkaji permasalahan bullying dari beberapa sudut pandang, untuk mencoba menghadirkan alternatif jawaban mengenai bagaimana cara menghadapi problematika bullying baik dari sisi orang tua, pendidik, maupun anak-anak yang terkait dengan permasalahan bullying tersebut."

"Creating a society that has a critical mind must be taught to society continually through formal and informal education. A school is the formal education is to create a generation of intelligent and critical thinkers so they are able to solve their own problems as well as their community problems. To do so, one learning model that can be used is the learning model of jurisprudence review. This model is very suitable to use in learning to speak through the method of confrontative debate. Confrontative debate on controversial issues will prompt students to critically express the opinion accompanied by arguments and real evidence. Learning to speak with the method of debate is learning to speak which has a very high degree of difficulty. Instructional impact that can be achieved through this model is that students are able to think systematically about the issue that was developing in the society."

"ABSTRAK
Meningkatkan self-efficacy berbicara di depan umum (public speaking self- efficacy) lebih baik dilakukan daripada hanya mengurangi ketakutan berkomunikasi. Untuk meningkatkan public speaking self-efficacy, terdapat beberapa strategi efektif meliputi pengembangan konten, struktur, dan penyampaian kepada para hadirin. Peningkatan public speaking self-efficacy sebaiknya juga dilakukan oleh para Finalis Duta Mahasiswa Generasi Berencana Tingkat Nasional 2013 selaku figur motivator dalam mengkampanyekan Program Generasi Berencana untuk mendukung promosi dan citra kampanye program. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif univariat dengan desain deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian adalah melihat public speaking self-efficacy para finalis dengan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai mean public speaking self-efficacy mayoritas finalis tinggi, sehingga mereka merasa pengembangan konten, struktur, penyampaian, dan penggunaan alat presentasi kepada para hadirin dapat meningkatkan public speaking self-efficacy dengan baik. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan konten merupakan dimensi paling kuat.

ABSTRACT
Increasing one?s self-efficacy of public speaking is better to do than only reducing communication apprehension. There are several effective strategies to improve one?s self-efficacy of public speaking, including the development of content, structure, and delivery to the audience. Increasing the public speaking self- efficacy should also be done by The 2013 National Student Ambassador Finalists for The Planned-Generation as a motivator figure within campaigning The Planned-Generation Program to support the promotion and image of the program campaign. This research is univariate quantitative with descriptive design. The purpose of this study is to observe the public speaking self-efficacy of the finalists and the results of this study shows that the mean value of the public speaking self- efficacy from the majority of finalists is high, so that they feel the development of content, structure, delivery, and presentational aids to the audience can improve the public speaking self-efficacy well. This study also shows that the content development is the strongest dimension. "

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektivitas pemberian teknik Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT) dalam menurunkan public speaking anxiety yang
dimiliki oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest design,
dimana peneliti melihat perubahan skor partisipan saat pre-test dan post-test
dengan menggunakan Personal Report of Public Speaking Anxiety (PRPSA).
Proses screening awal dilakukan dengan cara memberikan Interaction and
Audience Anxiousness Scale (IAS dan AAS), serta wawancara pada mahasiswa
yang berminat mengikuti proses screening. Setelah screening dilakukan,
terpilihlah tiga orang partisipan yang memenuhi kriteria partisipan penelitian dan
bersedia mengikuti intervensi CBT. Satu orang partisipan hanya mengikuti
intervensi hingga sesi ketiga sehingga hanya dua partisipan yang mengikuti
intervensi CBT sebanyak enam sesi. Hasil kualitatif dari penelitian ini
menunjukkan bahwa CBT terbukti efektif dalam menurunkan public speaking
anxiety pada mahasiswa.

ABSTRAK
The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy in reducing public speaking anxiety in college students. This study used
pretest-posttest design by Personal Report of Public Speaking Anxiety (PRPSA) to
measure the changes of anxiety levels between before and after intervention
process. Initial screening process is conducted by Interaction and Audience
Anxiousness Scale (IAS and AAS) as well as interviewed to college students.
There were three participants elected as research participants through screening
process. At the end of intervention process, one participant only attended until
session three. Only two participants who were attended six sessions of CBT. The
result of this study suggests that CBT is effective to reduced public speaking
anxiety in college students."

"Student' achievement for Statistics for education course at Universitas Terbuka (UT) is relatively low. Students need learning process that can increase learning motivation. Contextual approach is a learning is a learning process where students can understand the concept through its application in daily life which supposedly will increase learning motivation. Online tutorial is one of learning support services provided by the UT via the internet. By utilizing the discussion forums, initiation material, assignments and exercises, students can improve their coomunication skills so as to facilitate their learning.This article is based on the research which aimed to find out how motivation and communication skills influenced the learning achievement in online tutorials with contextual approach on Statistics for education course. Field trials wre carried out in 36 undergraduate students who followed the online tutorials. The independent variable is motivation and communication skills, while the dependent variable is the learning achievement. Data were taken through questionnaires and observation and processed by means of regression test. The results showed that: a) motivation affect learning achievement by 88.7%, b) communication skills has a positive effect on learning achievement by 74.7%, and c) the influence of motivation and communication skills to the learning achievement was 89.7%."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi mata pelajaran Wicara Publik yang ada dan merancang silabus baru untuk mata pelajaran peminatan bahasa Inggris Wicara Publik menggunakan metode English for Specific Purposes (ESP) di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) yang memiliki profil entrepreneurship. Ancangan penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dan kualitatif (mixed methods design research). Data ancangan kuantitatif (desain survei) bersumber dari kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada pemelajar dan pembelajar untuk memperoleh informasi dari dua perspektif berbeda. Di sisi lain, ancangan kualitatif (desain deskriptif interpretatif) digunakan untuk mengolah data yang berasal dari hasil wawancara terhadap pemangku kepentingan, pembelajar dan pemelajar. Observasi kelas dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendapatkan informasi tentang proses pembelajaran wicara publik yang berlangsung di dalam ruang kelas. Analisis kebutuhan dilakukan menggunakan pedoman needs analysis-informed teaching for English for specific purposes (Albassri, 2002) dan beberapa sumber pustaka yang relevan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis ditemukan bahwa program wicara publik yang sudah dilaksanakan belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan kebutuhan pemelajar untuk mengembangkan kemahiran komunikasi entrepreneurial dan oleh karena itu dibutuhkan silabus yang sejalan dengan tujuan pengadaan program tersebut. Meski demikian, mayoritas responden mengatakan bahwa kemahiran wicara publik mereka meningkat. Penelitian ini berhasil mengidentifikasi topik-topik wicara publik entrepreneurship dan elemen-elemen bahasa yang diperlukan untuk mengembangkan kemahiran komunikasi entrepreneurial dan perlu dimasukkan ke dalam silabus yang baru. Silabus ini dapat juga digunakan di sekolah-sekolah lain yang ingin mengembangkan kemahiran entrepreneruship pemelajarnya lebih dini.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to evaluate a Public Speaking course and design a new syllabus for an English Public Speaking course using the English for Special Purposes (ESP) method in a high school (SMA) which has an entrepreneurial profile. This research is quantitative and qualitative in nature (mixed methods research design). Quantitative data (survey design) were elicited from questionnaires distributed to both learners and teachers to obtain information from two different perspectives. On the other hand, a qualitative approach is used to process data elicited from interviews with the stakeholder, learners and teachers. Class observations in this study aimed to identify and obtain information about the learning process of public speaking conducted in the classroom. Needs analysis was carried out using analysis of information-based teaching needs for English for specific purposes (Albassri, 2002) and some relevant library sources. Based on the result findings of the analysis, it can be concluded that the ongoing public speaking program was not fully in accordance with the needs of learners to develop entrepreneurial communication skills and therefore a syllabus that was in line with the objectives of the program was needed. However, the majority of the respondents said that their public speaking skills had improved. This research successfully identified the topics of entrepreneurship public speaking and the language elements needed to develop the entrepreneurial communication skills that need to be incorporated into the new syllabus. This syllabus can also be used in other schools that are willing to develop their learners' entrepreneurship skills at earlier stage."
