"Service placement in ad hoc networks proposes the SPi service placement framework as a novel approach to service placement in ad hoc networks. The SPi framework takes advantage of the interdependencies between service placement, service discovery and the routing of service requests to minimize signaling overhead. The work also proposes the graph cost / single Instance and the graph cost / multiple Instances placement algorithms."

Vehicular ad-hoc network is a part of MANET in which the movement factors must take into considerations the road topology and traffic regulations. VANET is supported with fixed infrastructure in a crucial points which can help with a few services, such as a warning messages. It also can connect the network to stationary network. The Manhattan mobility model is one of the mobility model that can generate the map pattern of Manhattan city, which resembles a complex traffic. In this model, there is a Traffic Light Model (TLM) algorithm that can control mobile node movement in intersection. In this work we study the implementation using NS-2.34 for an application to control the packet data sending, and VanetMobiSim 1.1 is used as an application to generate the movement model from Manhattan mobility model. The simulation result shows that the end to end delay is depends on congestion of nodes, average hop in one route and congestion window. The results shows that Manhattan mobility model can reach 140 ms end to end delay on 190m wireless range. From packet delivery ratio Manhattan mobility model can reach score between 90% - 99% in 190m wireless range. The average hop is between 2.5 - 5 in 150m wireless range. Using this model, the throughput which can be achieved is up to 12 kbps."

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks MANETs get widespread applications along with the evolving technologies. However, MANETs are at risk due to the shortage of security mechanisms. In this paper, we propose new algorithms for key generation and encryption for privacy preservation in MANETs. We modified Fibonacci sequence by adding scrambling factor to generate random key sequences with required length but incurred low computational overhead. We modified the One Time Pad OTP system by adding scrambling factor for data confidentiality through encryption which satisfies the randomness, diffusion, and confusion tests. Evaluation of the proposed algorithms was conducted using Matlab and NS 2. Experiment results showed that the proposed algorithms produced random key sequences and Ciphertexts. Through several tests i.e. speed, correlation and autocorrelation, diffusion, and confusion tests, the simulation result showed the superiority of our algorithms over the other algorithms. For the proof of concept, our algorithms have been simulated in the network simulator."

ABSTRACTThe ad hoc wireless networks are increasingly used by multimedia applications. These applications are characterized by the existence of constraints on quality of service (QoS) to respect. One solution to guarantee QoS is the bandwidth reservation. In this report, I present the performance evaluation of a MAC protocol for bandwidth reservation in ad hoc networks to support wireless traffic such as voice. The protocol is evaluated based on IEEE 802.11. I have made several simulations to evaluate the performance of MAC protocol considered."
