"[Peningkatan jumlah kasus Dowry dan Dowry Death di India yang semakin lama semakin bertambah membuat isu ini menjadi signifikan untuk diteliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori kekerasan budaya dan teori pengaruh lingkungan tetangga dan kesulitan ekonomi terhadap kekerasan domestik sebagai pisau analisis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Praktik Dowry dan Dowry Death merupakan bentuk dari sistem patriarki yang ada dalam masyarakat India. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah melihat peranan pemerintah India dan aktor non pemerintah yaitu media dan LSM dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan Dowry dan Dowry Death. Meskipun dalam data belum terlihat penurunan jumlah kasus yang signifikan, setidaknya telah ada usaha penanggulangan yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah dan aktor non pemerintah dalam menghadapi permasalahan Dowry dan Dowry Death.;Rising number of Dowry and Dowry Death cases has made a significant situation to do a reseach about it. This research use the Cultural-Violence theory and Neighborhood Disadvantage and Personal Economic Distress Effect on Domestic Violence theory for the analysis. This research is a descriptive and use qualitative methods. Dowry and Dowry Death is a real form of patriarchy value in Indian society. This research focused on the role of the state and the non state actors like media and civil society in order to solve Dowry and Dowry Death problem. Although the data not yet indicate the descent of the case number, at least the state and non state actors have made some efforts to overcome Dowry and Dowry Death., Rising number of Dowry and Dowry Death cases has made a significant situation to do a reseach about it. "ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas representasi kekerasan negara di dalam sebuah film.Peneliti menggunakan teori Estetika Kejahatan Michelle Brown dengan perspektif kriminologi kultural, dipadukan dengan teori kejahatan dan kekerasannegara.Metodologi penelitian ini adalah analisis isi film yang didukung dengan data tanggapan 100 orang responden, yang kemudian digunakan dalam analisa wacana secara kontekstual. Penelitian ini menemukan sembilan adegan yang memiliki unsur representasi kekerasan negara di dalam The Act of Killing, serta mengajukan argumentasi bahwa produksi makna yang terjadi pada proses interaksi film dengan penontonnya menghasilkan pergeseran konsepsi mengenai kekerasan negara. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat sublimasi pada film terkait wacana kekuasaan dan kekerasan yang merasuk dan mempengaruhi kehidupan sosial masyarakat kontemporer, khususnya di Indonesia.

ABSTRACTIt discusses the representation of state violence in a film. I used the Aesthetics of Crime theory of Michelle Brown through the cultural criminology perspective,combined with the theory of state crimes and violences. I used the content analysis methodology toward the film which were supported by data from the responses of 100 respondents, which was then used in contextual discourse analysis. This study found nine scenes that had elements of representation of state violence in The Act of Killing, and argued that the production of meaning that occurs in the interaction between film and audiences produced a shift in the conception of state violence. This study concluded that there was a sublimation in the film related to the discourse of the power and violence that emerge and govern the contemporary social life."

"Fitur fitur ekstremisme seperti adanya pscyhological distress, cara berpikir sederhana, dan keyakinan yang berlebihan terhadap nilai-nilai moral, mendorong individu untuk bersikap intoleran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan intoleransi politik pada individu dengan ideologi ekstrem dan moderat.serta untuk mengetahui efek mediasi emosi negatif terhadap hubungan ekstremisme dan intoleransi politik. Studi cross-sectional ini diikuti 516 partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan rerata skor intoleransi politik yang signifikan antara kelompok ekstrem dan kleompok moderat sedangkan emosi negatif terbukti secara signfikan memediasi hubungan ekstremisme dan intoleransi politik di Indonesia.

Extremism features such as psychologycal distress, simple ways of thinking, and strong moral conviction encourage people to become intolerance. This study aims to determine the differences of political intolerance score between extreme group and moderate group in Indonesia and to determine the mediation effect of negative emotion in the relationship of extremism and political intolerance in Indonesia. 516 participants were participated in this cross sectional study. The results shows that political intolerance score is not significantly difference between extreme and moderate grop while negative emotion significantly mediates the relationship of extremism and political intolerance."

It looks at the stories of individual women caught up in the massacres and mass arrests, focusing on their testimonies and their experiences of violence and survival. The book aims not only to redress the lack of scholarly attention but also to provide significant new analysis on the gendered and gendering effects of sexual violence against women and girls in situations of genocidal violence."
