"[ABSTRAK
Latar belakang : Rekonstruksi tulang pada regio kraniofasial membutuhkan bahan tandur sebagai matriks dalam proses regenerasi tulang, untuk mereplikasi struktur tulang yang hilang. Membran perikardium bovine adalah biomaterial yang kaya akan kolagen yang merupakan unsur utama matriks ekstraselular tulang. Bagaimana perilaku osteoblas terhadap bahan membran perikardium bovine produksi BATAN, Jakarta, Indonesia masih belum di teliti.
Tujuan : Mengevaluasi perilaku osteoblas manusia MG63 dalam proses regenerasi tulang setelah ditambahkan dengan membran perikardium bovine (Batan, Jakarta, Indonesia).
Metoda : Sel osteoblas manusia MG63 dibiakan sampai jumlah mencukupi, kemudian dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, kelompok pertama ditambahkan dengan membran perikardium bovine dan kelompok kedua tanpa perlakuan sebagai kontrol. Dilakukan pengukuran proliferasi sel osteoblas dalam 24 jam dengan MTT assay. Ekspresi osteokalsin dan deposisi ion kalsium dievaluasi pada hari ke 7, 14, 21, dan 28 setelah perlakuan.
Hasil : Membran perikardium bovine meningkatkan rerata proliferasi sel osteoblas, menurunkan level ekspresi osteokalsin pada tahap akhir kalsifikasi sel yang mengindikasikan perlambatan proses down regulation kalsifikasi sel osteoblas, serta meningkatkan deposisi ion kalsium pada biakan sel osteoblas manusia MG63.
Kesimpulan : Membran perikardium bovine produksi BATAN, Jakarta, Indonesia meningkatkan proses diferensiasi dan mineralisasi sel osteoblas.

"[ABSTRAK
Penyembuhan defek tulang akibat trauma, antara lain dapat berupa trauma fisik; mekanik; kimia maupun biologik dapat dilakukan melalui terapi transplantasi tulang autogenik; allogenik; alloplastik dan xenogenik. Penggunaan material xenogenik yang paling sering digunakan dalam mempercepat penyembuhan adalah material dari bovine yang mempunyai potensi osteokonduktif sangat baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan perilaku sel osteoblas manusia terhadap paparan bovine periosteal membrane dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Bovine periosteal menbrane produksi BATAN yang diujikan tidak menstimulasi proliferasi sel osteoblas setelah 24 jam pemaparan. Disamping itu, tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna terhadap ekspresi fosfatase alkali dan konsentrasi osteokalsin pada sel osteoblas yang dipapar dengan bovine periosteal membrane dibandingkan dengan kontrol

ABSTRACT
Healing of bone defects due to trauma, including physical; mechanical; chemical and biological trauma can be done through autogenic; allogenic; alloplastic and xenogenic bone transplantation therapy. The most common xenogenic material that is used for bone healing acceleration is bovine material which has excellent osteoconductive potention. The aim of this study is to determine the differences in the behavior of human osteoblast cells on exposure to bovine periosteal membrane compared with controls. The results of this study indicate that bovine periosteal membrane from BATAN is not stimulate the proliferation of osteoblast after 24 hours of exposure. Latar belakang: Bovine jugular vein (BJV) conduit telah menggantikan fungsi homograft untuk prosedur operasi rekonstruksi right ventricle outflow tract (RVOT). Penelitan ini bertujuan melihat kesintasan jangka panjang pasien yang dilakukan rekonstruksi RVOT menggunakan BJV conduit. Metode: Total 58 BJV conduit yang dimplantasi di satu pusat jantung pada tahun 2010 hingga 2016. Karakteristik pasien serta evaluasi ekokardiografi didapatkan dari rekam medis. Peneliti melakukan analisa kesintasan terhadap luaran kardiovaskular yang terjadi. Luaran kardiovaskular berupa stenosis, regurgitasi, endokarditis serta operasi ulang. Hasil: Kesintasan selama tujuh tahun, pasien usia dibawah 24 bulan dan diatas 24 bulan terhadap luaran kardiovaskular sebesar 74,1% dan 87,1%. Usia subjek dibawah 24 bulan meningkatkan risiko terjadinya luaran kardiovaskular sebesar 1,18 kali. Kesintasan selama tujuh tahun terhadap luaran kardiovaskular untuk BJV conduit ukuran 12-14 mm dan 16-22 mm adalah 77%, dan 87%. Penggunaan ukuran 12-14 mm BJV conduit, meningkatkan kejadian luaran kardiovaskular sebanyak 1,13 kali. Kesimpulan: Usia dibawah 24 bulan dan penggunaan ukuran BJV conduit 12-14 mm yang meningkatkan risiko terjadinya luaran kardiovaskular, maka perlu dipertimbangkan operasi paliatif pada pasien agar dapat menggunakan BJV conduit yang lebih besar dikemudian hari.


Backgrounds: Bovine jugular Vein (BJV) conduit have replaced homograft function for right ventricle outflow tract (RVOT) reconstruction. This study purpose was to study long-term survival patient who undergo RVOT reconstruction with BJV conduit. Method: A total of 58 BJV conduit implanted in one heart center in 2010 until 2016. We gathered subject characteristic and echocardiography findings from medical record. We performed survival analysis based on cardiovascular events as the outcome which were stenosis, regurgitation, infective endocarditis, and re-operation. Result: The seven-year cardiovascular events were: patients less than 24 mo (74,1%), more than 24 mo (87,1%), BJV 12-14 mm in diameter (77%), 16-22 mm (87%). Age less than 24 mo and BJV conduit 12-14 mm in diameter increase risk of cardiovascular events 1,18 times and 1,13 times. Conclusion: Age less than 24 mo and BJV conduit 12-14 mm in diameter increasing risk of cardiovascular events. Thus, palliative surgery needs to be considered, allowing the use of conduit with a larger diameter.

"Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengamati perubahan kekerasan email gigi sapi setelah direndam dalam larutan ekstrak kelopak bunga rosela. Sepuluh buah spesimen gigi sapi direndam selama 15, dilanjutkan sampai menit ke 30, 45 dan akhirnya 60. Pada permukaan email dilakukan uji kekerasan dan pengamatan secara mikroskopis. Kekerasan email gigi sapi sebelum perendaman adalah 328 KHN dan setelah perendaman 15 sampai 60 menit menurun berturut-turut menjadi 57,4 KHNdan 11 KHN. Disimpulkan, terjadi penurunan kekerasan email yang signifikan (p<0,05). Gambar SEM memperlihatkan perubahan prisma email setelah perendaman sampai dengan 60 menit.

Organic acid contained in roselle calyx are capable of causing acidic condition on oral cavity. The aim of the present study was to analyse the effect of immersion in roselle extract solution on hardness of bovine enamel. Ten specimen of bovine tooth were immersed in roselle extract solution up to 60 minutes. Bovine enamel surface was characterized in hardness and in microscopy. Result showed hardness value before immersion was 328 KHN while after immersion for 15 minutes up to 60 minutes was 57,4 KHN and 11 KHN. In conclusion, hardness of bovine enamel was significantly decrease (p<0,05). SEM revealed changes of enamel rod after immersion up to 60 minutes."

Penelitian deskriptif ini dilakukan di Poliklinik Bedah Mulut F.K.G.U.I./R.S.C.M. tahun 1984 - 1985. Sampel diambil dari semua kasus fraktura:mdEmg yang disebabkan kecelakaan lalu lintas dan berobat di Po1iklinik Bedah Mulut F.K.G.U.I./R.S.C.M. Baik kasus yang datang langsung maupun yang merupakan konsul dari bagian saraf R.S.C.M./F.K.U.I. Sedangkan pengumpulan data diambil secara langsung dimana pasien langsung diperiksa oleh peneliti dan dicatat ke formulir Raw data, dan tak langsung dengan mencatat data kartu status penderita yang telaheikdagrsa orang lain (Dokumen medik) ke formdlir Raw data. Dari 74 kasus yang dapat dikumpulkan, didapat hasil. Berdararkan jenis kelamin tahun 1984 : 36 kasus fraktura rahang, 32 kasus laki-laki (88,89%) ?dan 4 kasus wanita (11,11%). Tahun 1985 32 kasus laki-laki (e4,21%> aan ehkasus wanita (15,79%). Menurut rahang mana yang terkena fraktura,

screw for the jaws with it rsquo s biocompatibility and biodegradability so that a follow up surgery to remove the miniplate and screw is not necessary The equal channel angular pressing ECAP process is a method to control the corrosion rate of magnesium and increase the mechanical properties In the making of miniplate and screw design from ECAP magnesium referring the safety factor of the titanium design that is already being used adjustments must be made with the characteristics of magnesium so damage can be avoided Objectives to analyze the comparison between magnesium ECAP miniplate and screw design against titanium Methods For this research we used the finite element method which is displacement formulation to calculate component movement strain and pressure under the internal and external load Afterwards the magnesium ECAP miniplate and screw design undergoes a loading simulation which is analyzed with the Von Misses theory Result Design of miniplate and screw magnesium ECAP which expected to be used in the management of maxillofacial fractures has been tested with the stress simulation using Von Misses theory then the design engineered to reduce stress received "Komite Medik RSU Karawang yang baru berusia satu tahun merupakan wadah non struktural yang melaksanakan tugas dan fungsinya sebagai pengendali kualitas pelayanan di rumah sakit, masih menghadapi berbagai kendala-kendala yang belum dapat terpecahkan. Dengan struktur ketenagaan, pembiayaan dan piranti lunak dari pimpinan rumah sakit, proses Komite Medik dapat berjalan, namun masih belum optimal, sehingga dampaknya tehadap outcome tindakan bedah, terutama terhadap kualitas pelayanan medik, belum terlihat. Masalah ini diakibatkan karena struktur yang mendukung, belum mecakup dukungan stuktural berupa sarana gedung dan peralatan yang memadai. Disamping itu prosedur tetap tentang kegiatan-kegiatan komite medik masih belum lengkap, sehinga proses belum dapat berjalan dengan optimal. Kaitannya dengan outcome tindakan bedah, oleh karena berdasarkan pengalaman di negara Amerika (Phartenon, 1979) 75% tuntutanmasyarakat pengguna yang diajukan terhadap dokter, 82% diantaranya ditujukan kepada para dokter yang melakukan tindakan pebedahan.
Oleh Karena itu, diperlukan peningkatan peran manajemen rumah sakit, untuk turut serta mengupayakan pemecahan masalah yang dihadapi oleh komite medik dan untuk mencegah terjadinya tuntutan masyarakat pengguna, dengan cara perbaikan struktur dan proses komite medik yang pada akhirnya akan berdampak terhadap meningkatnya kualitas pelayanan (outcome).
Penelitian ini bersifat studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif, karena meneliti struktur proses dan outcome yang sudah memiliki pola. Fokus penelitian adalah komite medik, yang berkaitan dengan struktur, proses kegiatan komite medik, serta outcome dari tindakan bedah di RSU Karawang.
Dari hasil penelitian, didapat suatu gambaran bahwa pengorganisasian komite medik berdampak positif terhadap struktur, proses dan outcome tindakan bedah, sehingga hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk membentuk suatu konsep pengembangan komite medik di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Unit Swadana Daerah kelas C Kabupaten Daerah Tingkat II Karawang. Konsep ini dibentuk berdasarkan tinjuan pustaka dan penelitian langsung di lapangan.
Hasil ini merupakan masukan kepada manajemen rumah sakit, sebagai dasar dalam pengembangan Komite Medik.

Medical Staff Organization (MSO) is a functional unit in Karawang Hospital , with an objective to monitor and control the quality of medical services. This unit has been working since 1995, and still have a lot of problems in organizing is activities. This study is intended to compare structure, process and outcome of medical staff activities in Karawang Hospital, during the period of pre-MSO (1994) and post MSO (1995).
The trigger initiating MSO activities in Karawang Hospital is the Director's decree (SK) on development of MSO in Karawang Hospital. The new MSO organization has a full support from the Hospital Director with facilities, financial supports and methods.
MSO activities in 1995 was increasing very fast, with 36 MSO meeting where almost 80% of all the doctors present. Mortality evaluation meetings, morbidity meetings, nosocomial task force, statistical evaluation of quality of medical services, completeness of medical records suddenly become a medical concern in the hospital. MSO budget for meetings and training of medical staff jumped from 1,6 millions rupiah in 1994 to 7,7 millions in 1995 and projected to 50 millions in 1996. Result of the study shown that MSO was very active in 1995 compared to the situation in 1994.
Outcome of MSO in this study is measured by the quality of medical surgeries conducted in 1994 and 1995. The study shown the decrease in waiting time for surgery, and length of stay after surgery in 1995 compared to 1994. Since mortality rate is influenced by the condition of patients when they came to the hospital, the outcome data should look further to the increasing rate of infection after surgeries. The study suggest to look at nosocomial infection, quality of nursing of patients facilities, and improvement of quality of medical services through the development of standard operating procedures for every surgeries in Karawang Hospital.
The study concluded that MSO had a positive impact on the quality of medical surgeries in Karawang Hospital. One of the important finding of this study is that MSO will not working properly without a full support and attention of Hospital Director.

"[Pendahuluan:
Hydrofiber merupakan materi balutan luka yang memiliki kemampuan absorbsi dan memberikan suasana lembab yang baik, namun belum diketahui potensi kemampuannya sebagai hemostat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat potensi kemampuan hemostasis hydrofiber.
Metode:
Studi eksperimental in-vitro dan in-vivo menggunakan kontrol dan randomisasi dilakukan pada 7 ekor tikus (in-vitro) dan 14 ekor tikus (in-vivo) Rattus novergicus strain Sprague-Dawley yang sehat dengan berat 200-300 gram. Pada penelitian in-vitro didapatkan 32 sampel darah 1mL. Pada 16 sampel kelompok perlakuan ditambahkan 5mg hydrofiber; 16 sisanya berfungsi sebagai kontrol. Waktu koagulasi dihitung dan dianalisis menggunakan independent t-test. Pada penelitian in-vivo subjek dikelompokkan menjadi 3 grup yang masing-masing terdiri dari 9 buah luka dan ditutup dengan hydrofiber, alginat atau kasa lembab salin. Selisih berat darah yang diserap tiap balutan dihitung dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Kolmogorv-Smirnov, sedangkan selisih luas area perdarahan dihitung dengan uji Anova (p<0.05)
Hasil:
Dari penelitian in-vitro didapatkan hasil tidak terdapat perbedaan antara waktu koagulasi sampel darah dengan hydrofiber dibandingkan dengan tanpa hydrofiber [p=0.119 (CI -7.47-62.28)]. Sedangkan pada penelitian kedua didapatkan hasil tidak terdapat perbedaan pada selisih berat [p=0.163 (CI 31.41-54.83)] dan selisih luas (p=0.788 (CI 2.83-3.28)] antara kelompok hydrofiber, alginate, dan kasa lembab salin.
Diskusi:
Hydrofiber tidak memiliki perbedaan dalam hal hemostasis bila dibandingkan dengan alginat dan kasa lembab salin yang sudah lama diketahui memiliki kemampuan hemostasis; dapat disimpulkan bahwa hydrofiber berpotensi memiliki kemampuan hemostasis.
, Background:
Hydrofiber is a highly absorbent dressing with its ability to promote wound healing. Because of its structure similarity with alginate, hemostatic property of hydrofiber is being questioned. This study was aimed to explore hemostatic property of hydrofiber.
Methods:
In-vitro and in-vivo experimental study was performed in healthy Sprague- Dawley rats weighing 200-300 gram. A number of 32 blood samples were collected from 7 animals for in-vitro study; 16 samples were added with hydrofiber, while the rest functioned as control. Coagulation time between hydrofiber and control were analyzed using independent t-test. The in-vivo study involved 27 deep dermal wounds that were divided into 3 groups where each group of wounds was covered with hydrofiber, alginate, and saline gauze dressing respectively. Amount of blood that was absorbed by each dressing were analyzed using Kolmogorv-Smirnov test, while bleeding surface area after dressing were analyzed with Anova test (p<0.05)
Results:
There is no significant difference in terms of coagulation time between hydrofiber and control [p 0.119 (CI -7.47-62.28)]. The amount of blood that was absorbed by each dressing [p 0.163 (CI 31.41-54.83)] and the bleeding surface area after dressing [p 0.788 (CI 2.83-3.28)] were also not significantly different between hydrofiber, alginate, and saline soaked gauze.
Conclusion:
Hydrofiber shows potential hemostasis property, as it has no difference in its profile of coagulation time and amount of absorbed blood with the profiles shown by alginate and saline soaked gauze.
