"This collection of original papers related to the Israeli GAFA seminar (on Geometric aspects of functional analysis) from the years 2006 to 2011 continues the long tradition of the previous volumes, which reflect the general trends of asymptotic geometric analysis, understood in a broad sense, and are a source of inspiration for new research. Most of the papers deal with various aspects of the theory, including classical topics in the geometry of convex bodies, inequalities involving volumes of such bodies or more generally, logarithmically-concave measures, valuation theory, probabilistic and isoperimetric problems in the combinatorial setting, volume distribution on high-dimensional spaces and characterization of classical constructions in Geometry and Analysis (like the Legendre and Fourier transforms, derivation and others). All the papers here are original research papers."

"This monograph examines in detail certain concepts that are useful for the modeling of curves and surfaces and emphasizes the mathematical theory that underlies these ideas. The two principal themes of the text are the use of piecewise polynomial representation (this theme appears in one form or another in every chapter), and iterative refinement, also called subdivision. Here, simple iterative geometric algorithms produce, in the limit, curves with complex analytic structure. In the first three chapters, the de Casteljau subdivision for Bernstein-Bezier curves is used to introduce matrix subdivision, and the Lane-Riesenfield algorithm for computing cardinal splines is tied into stationary subdivision. This ultimately leads to the construction of prewavelets of compact support. The remainder of the book deals with concepts of "visual smoothness" of curves, along with the intriguing idea of generating smooth multivariate piecewise polynomials as volumes of "slices" of polyhedra. The final chapter contains an evaluation of polynomials by finite recursive algorithms. Each chapter contains introductory material as well as more advanced results."

"Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis pro poor growth tingkat kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Terkait dengan hal tersebut, maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengurangan kemiskinan yang disebabkan oleh efek pertumbuhan dan efek distribusi, menganalisis apakah manfaat pertumbuhan ekonomi lebih banyak dinikmati oleh penduduk miskin atau tidak (pro poor growth), serta menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengurangan kemiskinan.Penelitian menggunakan ukuran persentase penduduk miskin, indeks kedalaman kemiskinan dan indeks keparahan kemiskinan. Analisis dilakukan melalui metode dekomposisi kemiskinan Shapley untuk mengetahui pengurangan kemiskinan yang disebabkan oleh efek pertumbuhan dan efek distribusi, metode Poverty Equivalent Growth Rate (PEGR) untuk menganalisis apakah manfaat pertumbuhan ekonomi lebih banyak dinikmati oleh penduduk miskin atau tidak (pro poor growth), serta metode regresi data panel 35 kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jawa Tengah tahun 2006-2010 untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengurangan kemiskinan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan efek netto pengurangan kemiskinan di Provinsi Jawa Tengah terjadi pada hampir semua periode, baik disebabkan oleh efek pertumbuhan, efek distribusi maupun keduanya. Pada tingkat kabupaten/kota, efek pertumbuhan, efek distribusi serta efek netto tidak selalu sama, baik antar periode maupun antar daerah. Pertumbuhan ekonomi di Provinsi Jawa Tengah pada periode 2006-2007 dan 2008-2009 tergolong pro poor growth. Pada tingkat kabupaten/kota, jumlah kabupaten/kota yang pertumbuhan ekonominya tergolong pro poor growth sangat berfluktuasi, baik antar periode maupun antar daerah. Peningkatan PDRB riil perkapita sektor pertanian dan tingkat pendidikan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pengurangan ketiga ukuran kemiskinan."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis apakah faktor-faktor ekonomi memiliki pengaruh terhadap penerimaan pajak reklame di DKI Jakarta selama tahun 2006-2010. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa faktor-faktor ekonomi tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan, baik simultan (bersama-sama) maupun parsial (sendiri-sendiri) terhadap penerimaan pajak reklame. Peneliti menyarankan agar Dispenda mengunakan sistem online. Dimana, penggunaan sistem online ini bertujuan untuk menghindari kebocoran-kebocoran penerimaan pajak reklame. serta meningkatkan pembinaan Wajib pajak seperti melalui kegiatan sosialisasi pajak. Karena, peningkatan pelayanan dan pembinaan pajak dianggap lebih efektif daripada pemeriksaan pajak.

This study aimed to analyze whether economic factors have an influence on the acceptance of advertisement tax in Jakarta during 2006-2010. This research is quantitative. The results of this study indicate that economic factors did not influence significantly, either simultaneously (together) or partially (on their own) to the advertisement tax revenue. Researchers suggested that Dispenda using the online system. Wherein, use online system aims to avoid leaks advertisement tax revenues. and increasing development such taxpayer through tax socialization. Because, enhanced customer service and building taxes are considered more effective than tax audit."
