"This book deals with all aspects of plasmonics, basics, applications and advanced developments. Plasmonics is an emerging field of research dedicated to the resonant interaction of light with metals. The light/matter interaction is strongly enhanced at a nanometer scale which sparks a keen interest of a wide scientific community and offers promising applications in pharmacology, solar energy, nanocircuitry or also light sources. The major breakthroughs of this field of research originate from the recent advances in nanotechnology, imaging and numerical modelling. The book is divided into three main parts, extended surface plasmons polaritons propagating on metallic surfaces, surface plasmons localized on metallic particles, imaging and nanofabrication techniques. The reader will find in the book: Principles and recent advances of plasmonics, a complete description of the physics of surface plasmons, a historical survey with emphasize on the emblematic topic of Wood's anomaly, an overview of modern applications of molecular plasmonics and an extensive description of imaging and fabrications techniques."

ABSTRACT
Recent experimental study on strontium niobate oxide system has revealed unconventional plasmons generation due to confinement by oxygen planes. A phenomenological model accompanied the experimental data on that study has suggested that the confined electrons behave as harmonic oscillators. These motivate us to further study the effect of space confinement to the electrons on the generation of the unconventional plasmons in a finite-size system. The dynamics of the correlated electrons in this confined system is described using the finite-size 3D Hubbard model that is solved within mean-field approximation. We study a hypothetical cubic systems that consist of n × n × n single-orbital atoms with n being 3, 5, 7, and 9. The calculation is done with and without incorporating the on-site Coulomb repulsion. We also consider extended system as a comparison to know the effect of confinement. Our calculations show that unconventional plasmons are observed only if we take into account both the confinement effect and the on-site Coulomb repulsion."

"This book covers the fundamental developments of plasmonic nanosenor design over the last few years. Jan Becker addresses the relevant theoretical concepts and then applies these to discuss the properties and trends in nanoparticles of various shapes and sizes. The first discovery Jan makes in his PhD research is that there is an optimal shape for plasmonic nanoparticles used for sensing purposes. In further chapters he goes on to describe novel experimental methods to use plasmonic nanoparticles for molecular sensing. Many of the experiments described in this thesis.

We have perform modelling of LSPR alloy with x 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 within weight percent using MNPBEM Toolbox simulation. The simulation was taking by single nanorod varied aspec ratio and fraction of silver with diameter D 20nm, 40nm, 60nm, and 80nm, respectively. To investigated the LSPR phenomenon, the incident light in range 200nm 1200nm, especially in electric field, is given by two differ polarization, that is parallel and perpendicular principal axis of nanorod, respectively. The result show two peaks appear for given differ polarization in whole aspec ratio. One peak with higher and lower energy was produced by parallel and perpendicular polarization, respectively. Higher orders were observed, like quadrupole and hexapole when increasing aspec ratio and silver composition. Furthermore, there was two peaks appears in alloying system when incident light was given in perpendicular principal axis, its guessed contribution from gold and silver electron conduction rsquo s oscillation separately due to lack coupling between them. Based on this result, we can determine the threshold aspec ratio and silver composition with varying diameter, where the LSPR phenomenon exist in visible range.

Dengue virus infection (DENV) is still one of the most common diseases in the world and sometimes causes death. Accurate early diagnosis is necessary to provide the right treatment. Because Indonesia is an archipelagic country, the detection method using PCR is less effective so a lateral flow assay (LFA) based tool that utilizes antibodies as its biosensor can be a solution. Developing nanobodies derived from Camelidae may overcome the drawbacks of monoclonal antibodies because they have higher solubility, better stability, and can be manipulated genetically. By using nanobodies previously produced by Asih et al. (2022) in E. coli which can detect DENV infection, the next step is to evaluate by using the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) method to obtain kinetic parameters on the interaction between nanobodies and NS1 protein as biomarkers of DENV infection. The study started with the preparation of E. coli culture, then continued with the expression of nanobodies by IPTG induction, purification of nanobodies, confirmation of nanobody acquisition by SDS-PAGE and Western Blot, then ended with the SPR test. Overall, both DD5 and DD7 appeared to be able to interact and bind to the NS1 DENV-2 antigen, according to the SPR signal response. The KD value obtained when the DD5 ligand interacted with various concentrations of NS1 DENV-2 was 1,08 x 10-7. Meanwhile, the KD values obtained when the NS1 ligand interacted with various concentrations of DD5 and DD7 were 9,62 x 10-8 and 9,29 x 10-8 respectively."
