"Kemajuan teknologi mengakibatkan kebutuhan kecepatan data meningkat. Sehingga perlu dirancang suatu jaringan backbone serat optik yang handal berkapasitas tinggi. Pada skripsi ini, akan didesain suatu jaringan backbone berkapasitas 40G*80 kanal yang menghubungkan kota Bandar Lampung dan Palembang. Jaringan yang dirancang memiliki panjang total 566 Km dan melewati kota Bandar Lampung, Kotabumi, Martapura, Muara Enim, Prabumulih, dan Palembang. Jaringan dibuat menggunakan serat optik SMF-28 premium buatan Perusahaan Corning dan Unitrans ZXWM M920 dari Perusahaan ZTE. Menghasilkan jaringan yang mampu membawa minimal 7 kanal hingga 80 kanal dengan OSNR berkisar antara 32dB hingga 42 dB.

Technology advances make the demand of bit rate increase. So we need to design a reliable fiber optic backbone network with high-capacity. In this paper, a backbone network will be designed with a capacity of 40G * 80 channel that connects the city of Bandar Lampung and Palembang. Designed network has a total length of 566 km and pass through Bandar Lampung, Kotabumi, Martapura, Muara Enim, Prabumulih, and Palembang. Network created using SMF-28 premium from corning incorporated and Unitrans ZXWM M920 from ZTE coorporation. This network able to operate at 7 to 80 channel with ONSR value 34dB to 42dB."

"[Next generation optical communication systems will have to transport a significantly increased data volume at a reduced cost per transmitted bit. To achieve these ambitious goals optimum design is crucial in combination with dynamic adaptation to actual traffic demands and improved energy efficiency. In the first part of the book the author elaborates on the design of optical transmission systems. Several methods for efficient numerical simulation are presented ranging from meta-model based optimization to parallelization techniques for solving the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Furthermore, fast analytical and semi-analytical models are described to estimate the various degradation effects occurring on the transmission line. In the second part of the book operational aspects of optical networks are investigated. Physical layer impairment-aware routing and regenerator placement are studied. "Tugas Akhir ini membahas pembuatan perangkat lunak Fibre Optic Information System (FOIS) yang bertujuan untuk mempermudah dan mempercepat perencanaan sistem komunikasi serat optik baik analog maupun dijital. FOIS merupakan suatu basis data yang terdiri dari 2 basis data utama danlima basis data pendukung. Basis data utama merupakan pusat dan' perencanaan sistem komunikasi serat optik, sedangkan basis data pendukung berfungsi sebagai pusat data-data yang dibutuhkan oleh basis data utama untuk menyelesaikan perencanaan. Langkah pertama untuk melakukan perencanaan sistem komunikasi serat optik adalah memasukkan data-data untuk setiap komponen ke dalam basis data pendulcung. Komponen-komponen itu adalah jenis serat optik, jenis detektor optik, jenis sumber optik, dan konektor serta splice. Setelah semua data telah masuk dalam basis data pendukung, langkah kedua adalah memilih jenis komponen yang kita inginkan dan memasukkan data-data dari basis data pendukung ke dalam basis data utama. Langkah ketiga adalah memasukkan syarat-syarat yang kita inginkan dalam perencanaan, seperti jarak minimum, SNIT, dan lebar pita. Setelah semua data lengkap, proses perhitungan dapat dilaksanakan. FOIS secara otomatis mendeteksi jenis komponen yang digunakan dalam perencanaan, PIN atau API) untuk jenis detektor optik, LAD atau LASER untuk jenis sumber optik, dan singlenrode atau multimode untuk jenis serat opok. Setelah proses perhitungan selesai, maka dibandingkan hasil perhitungan FOIS dengan perhitungan secara manual. Hasil perbandingan menunjukkan FOIS memiliki ketelitian yang sangat tinggi dan juga dapat menyelesaikan perencanaan sistem komunikasi serat optik dengan sangat cepat."

Sistem komunikasi optik berjalan baik dan lancar apabila tidak kekurangan anggaran daya (power Budget) dan anggaran waktu bangkit (Rise Time Budget).Pada skripsi ini hanya akan membahas tentang perhitungan dan analisis power budget. Analisis power budget ini sangat penting dilakukan secara berkala untuk menilai dan mengevaluasi kelayakan suatu jaringan komunikasi optik. Analisis power budget pada skripsi ini akan dilakukan untuk jaringan komunikasi yang berada dalam area cakupan STO Jatinegaran PT TELKOM.

In a fiber optic communications system, we have to give attention to the importance of power budget. Optic Communications System will be on the best work and condition if there is not lack of Power Budget and Time Rise Budget. This skripsi will only get down the cases about calculation and analysis of power budget. This Power budget analysis is very importance to conduct periodically in order to assess and evaluate elegibility of an optic communications network. On this skripsi, the object of power budget Analysis is communications network in coverage area of PT TELKOM - STO Jatinegara."
