"Aerosol sangat penting untuk dikaji karena aerosol merupakan komponen penting dan mempunyai peranan dalam mempengaruhi perubahan iklim. Aerosol menyebabkan pendinginan secara global karena keberadaan aerosol di atmosfer dapat menutupi sinar matahari yang masuk ke dalam permukaan bumi. Sumber aerosol berasal dari penggunaan tanah, dan dipengaruhi oleh kondisi klimatologis berupa curah hujan, serta angin sehingga dapat diketahui pola hubungan dari ketiganya. Penelitian ini mengkaji pola distribusi aerosol di Jawa Bagian Barat menggunakan citra satelit MODIS. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode klasifikasi AOD kemudian sumber aerosol dioverlaykan dengan variabel curah hujan, angin, dan penggunaan tanah untuk melihat hubungan antara pola distribusi aerosol dengan ketiga variabel tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini nilai rata-rata AOD (Aerosol Optical Depth) tertinggi terjadi pada Oktober 2007 dengan nilai AOD 0,481 dan Agustus 2008 dengan nilai AOD 0,408. Pola distribusi aerosol menunjukkan nilai AOD tinggi terdapat di bagian barat dan utara Jawa bagian barat, penggunaan tanah berupa lahan terbangun, dan terjadi pada musim kemarau.

Aerosols become a important study recently because it could influence the climate. Aerosols could impact global dimming, because the presence of aerosols in the atmosphere could block when the sunshine entering the Earth's surface. Source of aerosols induced from the land use, and climatic conditions in the form of rainfall, and wind so that can be known the relationship pattern among them. This study examined aerosol distribution patterns in Western Java region using MODIS satellite imagery. The method used in this study using the grid method on three variables, and analyze the relationship among them. The result of this study shows the highest average of AOD (Aerosol Optical Depth) in October 2007 with a value of 0,481, and in August 2008 with a value of 0,408. Distribution of aerosols pattern has a value of AOD high in the west, and north of West Java, land use of building area, and occurred in dry season. "

"Salah satu isu lingkungan hidup yang memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap semua komponen kehidupan dan sistem kehidupan banyak kalangan saat ini adalah mengenai fenomena perubahan iklim (climate change). Perubahan Iklim tidak hanya berdampak di permukaan bumi saja, namun dampak Perubahan Iklim juga menjadi masalah di lingkungan antariksa, hal ini disebabkan aktifitas manusia seperti pembakaran fosil, kegiatan industri, dan penggunaan lahan secara eksploitatif telah berkontribusi dalam peningkatan konsentrasi karbon dioksida (CO2) dan zat sejenis lainnya seperti methane (CH4), yang pada akhirnya akan berujung pada peningkatan suhu global secara keseluruhan. proses tersebut mengakibatkan peningkatan konsentrasi Karbondioksida (CO2) dan Methana (CH4) di atmosfer bawah (terjadi pemanasan atmosfer bawah) yang menyebabkan pendinginan atmosfer atas yang berdampak menurunkan kerapatan atmosfer atas tempat satelit-satelit LEO berada (Satelit di Orbit menengah bumi). Karena ada indikasi kecenderungan penurunan kerapatan atmosfer atas, maka debris dan satelit-satelit akan semakin lama berada di orbitnya.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis Potensi ancaman Sampah Antariksa terhadap Keamanan Nasional dan Peran Kelembagaan LAPAN dalam Mitigasi Ancaman Keamanan Nasional dalam Bidang Keantariksaan terkait dampak dari Perubahan Iklim. Metoda yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif, dan hasil dari analisis yang diperoleh adalah Bagi Indonesia, isu sampah antariksa tergolong krusial karena dua alasan, Pertama ukuran negara dan populasi yang besar dan yang kedua perkembangan jumlah/populasi sampah antariksa yang semakin bertambah, salah satunya adalah Praktik RPO sebagai misi rawan, Terkait Panduan Mitigasi sampah antariksa untuk saat ini LAPAN belum membuat panduan tersebut tetapi LAPAN sudah melakukan Mitigasi Benda jatuh antariksa sebagai bagian dari sampah antariksa. LAPAN telah melakukan pengamatan dengan Sistem/program tracking sampah antariksa dengan menggunakan kode pemodelan prediksi dari CELESTRAC. Pemantauan ini dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan data orbit satelit yang saat ini dipublikasikan oleh USSPACECOM. Walaupun demikian ternyata di lapangan dalam melakukan pengamatan dan pemodelan yang bergantung dari data orbit negara lain masih banyak memiliki kekurangan.

One environmental issue that has significant impact on all components of life and the lives of many systems today is the phenomenon of climate change (climate change). Climate change not only impacts on the earth's surface, but the impact of climate change is also an issue in the space environment, this is due to human activities such as burning fossil, industrial activities, and exploitative land use has contributed to the increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) and substance other such as methane (CH4), which in turn will lead to an overall increase in global temperatures. The process resulted in an increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) and Methane (CH4) in the lower atmosphere (atmospheric warming below) which cause cooling of the upper atmosphere that impact on reducing the density of the upper atmosphere where satellites are LEO (satellites in medium earth orbit). Because there is an indication of the downward trend in the density of the upper atmosphere, the debris and satellites will longer be in orbit.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the potential threat to the National Security Space Trash and Space agency Institutional Role in National Security Threat Mitigation in a field related to the impact of Keantariksaan Climate Change.
