"The Puppeter Mask Klaten is a form of ancient folk arts which the existence cannot be separated £rom the history of the kingdoms in Central Java. Klaten is becoming a place for creative community who are able to create many artistic expressions and one of them called as Dalang Mask. Agrarian culture, communality, family and togethemess are becoming the value of life which represented through Dalang Mask Klaten. However, because of the era change, Dalang Mask Klaten is isolating by modem culture. Also the passed away of the Puppeter, the absence of regeneration process are often occured in the family becomes the reason why this art is difficult to be preserved. This study uses a performance studies approach based on analysis system of performance studies to observe the layen of this arts including the story background, movement, actors, fashion, accompaniment, mask property and contextualization which apply to fmd out the purpose and the idea behind it.. The results showed Puppeter Mask Klaten is not just an object of artistic expression, but also a livehood and communal bonding power. This idea is essential to define Puppeter Mask Klaten in the context of artistic expression as an ideology, something that can be represent the pride of their owners. Art becomes a means of education for the community, both as history review, reflection and also as the provision of visionary towards its future."

"Seni pertunjukan Wayang Beber termasuk salah satu jenis seni pertunjukan Wayang yang tertua di Indonesia, yang kini menjadi semakin langka dan menuju kepunahan. Ditempat asalnya yaitu daerah Pacitan dan Wonosari, asal Wayang Beber ini berada, semakin ditinggalkan oleh pengikutnya. Akan tetapi, ternyata di Jakarta sebagai kota metropolitan terdapat komunitas Wayang Beber Metropolitan yang mencoba untuk mengembangkan Wayang Beber tidak hanya dari segi seni rupa tetapi juga dari segi seni pertunjukan hingga menjadi sebuah pertunjukan Wayang Beber kontemporer. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan cara pengamatan terlibat, wawancara dan dokumentasi visual dan auditif. Tulisan ini mengenai perkembangan seni pertunjukan Wayang Beber yang ada pada saat ini dan tidak lepas dari perkembangan yang telah terjadi di masa lalu. Perubahan dan transformasi yang terjadi pada pertunjukan Wayang Beber adalah hasil adaptasi dan sesuai dengan tingkat kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang ada didalam masyarakat dengan kondisi sosio kulutral yang telah berkembang dengan pesat. Hal ini dapat membuktikan bahwa tradisi itu tidak mati dan masih dapat hidup di tengah masyarakat perkotaan.

The Performing arts of Wayang Beber including one of the oldest Wayang performing arts in Indonesia, which is now becoming increasingly scarce and headed for extinction. Pacitan and Wonosari, which is the area the origin of Wayang Beber is came from, increasingly abandoned by its followers. However, turned out in Jakarta as a metropolitan city, there is a Wayang Beber Metropolitan community that tries to develop a Wayang Beber not only in terms or art, but also in terms of the performing arts to become a contemporary performing of Wayang Beber. Research method used is a qualitative method by way of participant observation, interviews and documentation of visual and auditory.

This article about the development of Wayang Beber performing arts that existed at the moment and cannot be separated from the development that has occurred in the past. Changes and transformation that occur in the performing of Wayang Beber is the result of adaptation and in accordance with the progress of science and technology in the community with socio-cultural condition which have develop rapidly. This can prove that the tradition does not die and still be living in urban society."

"Skripsi ini menjelaskan mengenai keterkaitan antara novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin, kaum abolisionis, dan pecahnya Perang Sipil. Metode yang digunakan dalam menyusun skripsi ini yaitu metode sejarah yang terdiri dari heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Perkembangan institusi perbudakan di wilayah Selatan Amerika Serikat menyebabkan munculnya kelompok yang menentang kehadiran institusi tersebut,yang disebut sebagai kaum abolisionis. Para abolisionis melakukan berbagai kegiatan untuk mengakhiri keberadaan institusi perbudakan, baik melalui tindakan langsung maupun tidak langsung. Salah satu kegiatan kaum abolisionis yang paling menonjol adalah dengan menyebarkan pemikiran mereka melalui tulisan yang diterbitkan dalam bentuk media cetak, atau biasa disebut sebagai media abolisionis. Kehadiran novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin karya Harriet Beecher Stowe menambah daftar media abolisionis dan menjadi sebuah propaganda anti-perbudakan yang paling sukses pada saat itu. Hasil penelitian dalam skripsi menunjukkan bahwa novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin telah meningkatkan sentimen anti-perbudakan di Utara, sehingga menyebabkan semakin banyaknya jumlah kaum abolisionis, dan pada akhirnya menjadi salah satu pemicu terjadinya Perang Sipil.

The focus of this study is about dependability among Uncle Tom’s Cabin,abolitionist, and Civil War. This research uses historical method which consist of four steps, heuristic, critic, interpretation, and historiography. The development of slavery in South caused the emerged of opposing group, called the abolitionist. The abolitionist tried to end the institution of slavery, through direct and indirect action. One of their ultimate activities is to spread their anti-slavery thought through printed media, which called as the abolitionist media. The present of Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe became the most successful abolitionist media and antislavery propaganda at the time. The result of the research shows that Uncle Tom’s Cabin has increased anti-slavery sentiment in the North, so the number of the abolitionist has got more and more. Therefore it became one of Civil War causing. "
