"This book enables readers to achieve ultra-low energy digital system performance. The authors main focus is the energy consumption of microcontroller architectures in digital (sub)systems. The book covers a broad range of topics extensively: from circuits through design strategy to system architectures. The result is a set of techniques and a context to realize minimum energy digital systems. Several prototype silicon implementations are discussed, which put the proposed techniques to the test. The achieved results demonstrate an extraordinary combination of variation-resilience, high speed performance and ultra-low energy.
Presents a full bottom-up micro-electronics approach: circuit-level, design strategy and CAD automation, architecture optimization
Motivates discussion with simulation results and/or measurements in an advanced nanometer CMOS process
Compares traditional circuit/design/architecture techniques and state-of-the-art, setting the landscape of current best performance and how it can be improved"

"The book focuses on the orbital dynamics and mission trajectory (transfer or target trajectory) design of low-energy flight in the context of modern astrodynamics. It investigates various topics that either offer new methods for solving classical problems or address emerging problems that have yet to be studied, including low-thrust transfer trajectory design using the virtual gravity field method; transfer in the three-body system using invariant manifolds; formation flying under space-borne artificial magnetic fields; and the orbital dynamics of highly irregular asteroids. It also features an extensive study of the orbital dynamics in the vicinity of contact binary asteroids, including the 1:1 ground-track resonance, the equilibrium points and their stability, and the third-order analytical solution of orbital motion in the vicinity of the non-collinear equilibrium point."

Urban campuses as an element of a city must contribute to the achievement of a sustainable city, as stated in SDG no 11, by turning the campus into a sustainable campus. One of the methods to achieve the goal is by applying a biophilic design pattern, a design approach that improves the relationship between people and nature in the built environment. The problem of this research is there is no sustainable urban campus concept available for designing the physical elements of the campus that applies biophilic design patterns and focuses on the perception, and preference of the user. There are four objectives of this research: to analyze the existing condition of the urban campus, to analyze the user’s perceptions, to analyze the user’s preferences, and to compose a sustainable urban campus concept using a biophilic design approach. This research used a quantitative approach and mixed methods. The sampling technique is incidental sampling. The results showed that the physical element of the urban campus was dense and less maintained while the interior was renovated. The optimization design guideline was composed by combining the perception of users and a biophilic design pattern. The application of biophilic design did not significantly affect the construction cost. The research concluded that an urban campus should be optimized to achieve sustainable conditions. The application of biophilic design patterns can bring a positive perception, and improve the environmental condition at a reasonable cost."

"Communicates sound, up-to-date ecological principles to the urban design community to help improve the ecological function of designed and built landscapes Identifies novel environmental research directions needed to support basic urban ecology as well as sustainable and resilient urban design Articulates new criteria for assessing good ecological urban design while engaging the design imagination Contributions by leading voices in the design and ecological communities The contributors to this volume propose strategies of urgent and vital importance that aim to make today's urban environments more resilient. Resilience, the ability of complex systems to adapt to changing conditions, is a key frontier in ecological research and is especially relevant in creative urban design, as urban areas exemplify complex systems. With something approaching half of the world's population now residing in coastal urban zones, many of which are vulnerable both to floods originating inland and rising sea levels, making urban areas more robust in the face of environmental threats must be a policy ambition of the highest priority. The complexity of urban areas results from their spatial heterogeneity, their intertwined material and energy fluxes, and the integration of social and natural processes. All of these features can be altered by intentional planning and design. The complex, integrated suite of urban structures and processes together affect the adaptive resilience of urban systems, but also presupposes that planners can intervene in positive ways. As examples accumulate of linkage between sustainability and building/landscape design, such as the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park and Toronto's Lower Don River area, this book unites the ideas, data, and insights of ecologists and related scientists with those of urban designers. It aims to integrate a formerly atomized dialog to help both disciplines promote urban resilience."
