"Pada negara berkembang seperti Indonesia, sektor konstruksi memiliki peranan penting dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi. Hal ini dikarenakan sektor konstruksi dapat menyediakan lapangan pekerjaan yang dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Namun saat ini salah satu masalah yang mendesak untuk sektor konstruksi adalah keselamatan dan kesehatan. Keselamatan kerja merupakan perhatian utama sektor konstruksi, karena keselamatan kerja yang buruk rentan menimbulkan kecelakaan. Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya menyimpulkan implementasi ketentuan atau kebijakan merupakan salah satu upaya efektif mengurangi kecelakaan kerja. Dalam penelitian ini, dapat dilihat seberapa besar pengaruh penerapan sub element SMK3 PP 50 2012 pada proyek konstruksi dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Sehingga dengan melihat pengaruh penerapan dari setiap elemen SMK3 dapat dirumuskan berbagai strategi untuk meningkatkan implementasi dan kendala yang terdapat dalam implementasi SMK3 pada proyek konstruksi yang terkait dengan aspek kepemimpininan, kompetensi petugas K3 dan sistem yang diaplikasikan dalam penerapan SMK3.

In the developing countries such as Indonesia, the construction sector has an important role in economic growth. This is because the construction sector can provide jobs that can improve the welfare of people directly or indirectly. But this time one of the urgent issues for the construction sector is health and safety. Safety is the main concern in the construction sector, due to poor work safety prone to accidents. Several previous studies have concluded the implementation of its provisions or policies is an effort to effectively reduce workplace accidents.

On this study, it can be seen that how big the effect of the sub elements SMK3 PP 50 2012 on the construction sector with analytic of descriptive method. Therefore by looking at the effect of applying SMK3 can be formulated various strategies to improve the implementation and constraints contained in SMK3 implementation in construction projects which are related with leadership aspec, competency of K3 workers and implementation of applying SMK3 system."
