"Beberapa ontologi pariwisata telah dibuat pada penelitian sebelumnya. Ontologi tersebut sudah bisa digunakan sebagai basis pengetahuan untuk menjawab pertanyaan yang sering muncul dalam pariwisata, tetapi belum bisa menangani informasi yang memiliki waktu valid, yaitu rentang waktu saat suatu informasi mencerminkan keadaan nyata. Penelitian ini mengajukan sebuah ontologi yang dirancang sebagai alat representasi pengetahuan pariwisata. Ontologi pariwisata ini memodelkan pengetahuan umum dalam ranah pariwisata dan memodelkan informasi entitas pariwisata yang memiliki waktu valid. Selain itu, ontologi pariwisata juga dilengkapi antarmuka pemrograman aplikasi yang dirancang untuk menangani ontologi ini. Dari hasil uji coba, ontologi mampu menjawab tiga pertanyaan yang muncul dalam pariwisata dan memodelkan pengetahuan waktu valid.

A number of tourism ontologies exist that can be used as a knowledge base to answer questions that often occurs in the context of tourism, but they cannot handle information that have a valid time, which is the time interval when the information is true in the real world. This thesis describes an ontology that is created to be used as a representation of tourism knowledge. The tourism ontology can model general knowledge in the tourism domain and information about tourist entities that have a valid time. An application programming interface for the ontology is also described. From experimental results, the ontology can answer three questions that often appear in the context of tourism and also models valid time."
