"Solutions of the wave equation or Maxwell's equations in boundary value and free space problems are analyzed. Hyperbolic systems in domains going off to infinity are studied. New results on Maxwell's equations and non-star shaped reflecting bodies are included."

"This volume aims to collect some recent advances in the area in order to allow a quick overview of ongoing research. The contributors are first rate mathematicians. This collection of research papers is centred around parametrix constructions and microlocal analysis, asymptotic constructions of solutions, energy and dispersive estimates, and associated spectral transforms. Applications concerning elasticity and general relativity complement the volume. The book gives an overview of a variety of ongoing current research in the field and, therefore, allows researchers as well as students to grasp new aspects and broaden their understanding of the area.

"Here is a clearly written introduction to three central areas of inverse problems: inverse problems in electromagnetic scattering theory, inverse spectral theory, and inverse problems in quantum scattering theory. Inverse problems, one of the most attractive parts of applied mathematics, attempt to obtain information about structures by nondestructive measurements. Based on a series of lectures presented by three of the authors, all experts in the field, the book provides a quick and easy way for readers to become familiar with the area through a survey of recent developments in inverse spectral and inverse scattering problems."

"This text examines various dirichlet problems which can be formulated for equations of keldysh type, one of the two main classes of linear elliptic-hyperbolic equations. Open boundary conditions (in which data are prescribed on only part of the boundary) and closed boundary conditions (in which data are prescribed on the entire boundary) are both considered. Emphasis is on the formulation of boundary conditions for which solutions can be shown to exist in an appropriate function space. Specific applications to plasma physics, optics, and analysis on projective spaces are discussed. "

"There has been a growing interest in the use of Fourier analysis to examine questions of accuracy and stability of numerical methods for solving partial differential equations. This kind of analysis can produce particularly attractive and useful results for hyperbolic equations.
This book provides useful reference material for those concerned with computational fluid dynamics: for physicists and engineers who work with computers in the analysis of problems in such diverse fields as hydraulics, gas dynamics, plasma physics, numerical weather prediction, and transport processes in engineering, and who need to understand the implications of the approximations they use; and for applied mathematicians concerned with the more theoretical aspects of these computations."

"This book presents recent results on nonlinear parabolic-hyperbolic coupled systems such as the compressible navier-stokes equations, and liquid crystal system. It summarizes recently published research by the authors and their collaborators, but also includes new and unpublished material. All models under consideration are built on compressible equations and liquid crystal systems. This type of partial differential equations arises not only in many fields of mathematics, but also in other branches of science such as physics, fluid dynamics and material science."

"The main aim of this volume is to offer a unified, self-contained introduction to the interplay of these three main areas of research, ergodic theory, hyperbolic dynamics, and dimension theory. Furthermore, it includes an introduction to the thermodynamic formalism, which is an important tool in dimension theory."

"The issue of regularity has played a central role in the theory of Partial Differential Equations almost since its inception, and despite the tremendous advances made it still remains a very fruitful research field. The course aimed to show the deep connections between these topics and to open new research directions through the contributions of leading experts in all of these fields."
