"ABSTRAK Fossil fuel is non renewable energy which is still used as the main source for human activities on a daily basis. Depletion of fossil fuel is unavoidable, and even predicted to run out in few years to come. Potential new renewable energy has been explored to provide an alternative of more cleaner yet effective sources. One of them is seeds as raw material for biodiesel. By issuing Presidential Regulation No. 22 of 2017, the government mandates all relevant steakholders to conduct research and development on new renewable energy. The Center of Plant Conservation Botanic Gardens LIPI has an important role in exposing potential Indonesian plant species through bioprospecting studies. Previous studies have revealed seven species of plants, namely: oil palm, coconut, candlenut pongamia, rubber and jatropha for this purpose especially for biodiessel. However, some of these plants are also used as food resource. Therefore, the screening of non food plant species as potential biodiesel raw from material is required. Based on the study on potential plant resource for biodiesel carried out by LIPI, there are 35 species 19 families, which are dominated by the Arecaceace family."

"Pusat Konservasi Tumbuhan Kebun Raya Bogor - Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (PKT KRB ? LIPI) adalah tujuan wisata favorit dengan pengunjung lebih dari 800,000 orang setiap tahunnya. Kebun Raya yang memiliki keragaman tumbuhan koleksi dengan lanskap paripurna, menjadi habitat ideal beranekaragam jenis burung. Untuk mengetahui potensinya bagi pengembangan wisata birdwatching di PKT KRB - LIPI, dilakukan penelitian melalui studi literatur, pengamatan langsung dan wawancara antara bulan Mei dan Juli 2013. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tercatat 48 jenis dari 23 suku burung yang dapat ditemukan pada lokasi tersebut. Sebanyak 26 jenis dari 18 suku burung dapat selalu dijumpai dari penelitian sebelumnya hingga saat ini, ada 10 jenis yang belum pernah dilaporkan sebelumnya dan ada sembilan jenis yang tersebar merata di 12 lingkungan di PKT KRB - LIPI. Setidaknya ada 25 jenis potensial untuk wisata birdwatching berdasarkan minat pengunjung terhadap jenis burung tertentu, status konservasi, endemisitas, dan keberadaan burung dari waktu ke waktu."

This is climber plant and become weed in Bogor Botanical Garden because their population growing very fast and invasive to other plant collection. C. sicyoides grows climbing up and covering the crown of some trees then hampering the process of photosintesis, flowering and fruiting of host plant. "

"ABSTRAKGaharu is a fragrant wood that has been used in religious, medicinal and aromatic properties. Six genera (24 species) of the family Thymelaeaceae (Aetoxylon, Aquilaria, Enkleia, Gyrunops, Gonystylus, Gyrinops, and Gonystylus (9 species) are cultivated in the Bogor Botanical Garden. All species og Aquilaria and Gyrinops were listed in appendix II of the CITES. "

"The genus Huperzia is an epiphitic fern of the family lycopodiaceae which has potential value as an ornamental plant. However, information on its usage, cultivation, and conservation aspects are still limited. Bogor Botanic Garden as an ex-situ conservation institution plays an important role in conserving the genus. Exploration activities have been done in many places in Indonesia. Until now, Bogor Botanic Garden has collected several specimens from North and West Sumatra and Maluku."

"One of the genera that can be found in Bogor Botanical Gardens plant collection is Ficus (Moraceae). This genus has several habitus, one of which is hemiepiphyte. There are several stages of hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. growth process. It starts from the epiphytic phase to the last phase as a strangler that can kill the host tree. Hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. has a very important role in terms of improving gardens ecological function. However, hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. need to be properly managed in order not to destroy the host plant especially when it is a plant collection with particular value."
