"Research and development activities on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) vehicles have increased LPG engine performance to that of gasoline engines. LPG evaporation in the fuel system also has a potential cooling effect that can be taken advantage of. The results from previous studies, however, do not explain the level of fuel in the tank at the time of data collection. LPG is a mixture of several molecules which have different properties. This paper presents an investigation of LPG composition characteristics in the fuel line during the discharging process. Samples were taken periodically on the fuel line by special gas syringes. Afterwards, the samples were injected into the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) device. This series of tests, which was conducted on lengthy LPG tanks, showed that the propane and butane 2-methyl molecules are unevenly dispersed during the discharging of the tank. However, this study found that a change in LPG composition during the discharging process does not have significant influence on the energy delivery and the potential cooling effect."

"Transparent conducting oxide (TCO) glasses play an important role in
various technology, including dye sensitized solar cells. One of the most
commonly used glass is indium tin oxide (ITO) glass, which is expensive.
Therefore, the main
purpose of this research was to determine if ITO glass can be replaced with
fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass,
which is easier and more economic to manufacture. For this purpose, a tin
chloride dehydrate (SnCl2.2H2O)
precursor was doped with ammonium
fluoride (NH4F) using a
sol-gel method and spray pyrolysis technique to
investigate the fabrication process for conductive
glass. NH4F was
doped at a ratio of 2 wt% in the SnCl2.2H2O precursor at
varying deposition times (10, 20, and 30 minutes) and substrate temperatures
(250, 300, and 350°C). The
results revealed that longer deposition times created thicker glass layers with
reduced electrical resistivity. The highest optical
transmittance was 75.5% and the lowest resistivity
was 3.32´10-5 Ω.cm,
obtained from FTO glass
subjected to a 20-minute deposition time at deposition temperature of 300oC."

"Cylindrical uranium dioxide pellets, which are the main components for nuclear fuel elements in light water reactors, should have a high density profile, a uniform shape, and a minimum standard quality for their safe use as a reactor fuel component. The quality of green pellets is conventionally monitored by laboratory measurement of the physical pellet characteristics; however, this conventional classification method shows some drawbacks, such as difficult usage, low accuracy, and high time consumption. In addition, the method does not address the non-linearity and complexity of the relationship between pellet quality variables and pellet quality. This paper presents the development and application of a modified Radial Basis Function neural network (RBF NN) as an automatic classification system for green pellet quality. The weight initialization of the neural networks in this modified RBF NN is calculated through an orthogonal least squared method, and in conjunction with the use of a sigmoid activation function on its output neurons. Experimental data confirm that the developed modified RBF NN shows higher recognition capability when compared with that of the conventional RBF NNs. Further experimental results show that optimizing the quality classification problem space through eigen decomposition method provides a higher recognition rate with up to 98% accuracy."

"The Aluminum 7075 (Al 7075) alloy is a precipitation hardening material instead of a strain hardening material. These mechanical properties are of a particular microstructure obtained by thermo-mechanical treatments. Among other things, this is a complicated microstructure which is responsible for the mechanical performance. The evolution of the mechanical properties of aluminum alloys is dependent on aging time parameters after heat treatment. In this study, the material has undergone a tempering heat treatment followed by a series of tensile tests. The experimental data (tensile curves in three directions during maturation time) is used to describe the evolution of the mechanical characteristics in terms of loading directions and maturation time, denoted respectively as: Ψ and t. The tensile curves are the source of data to begin the problem of identifying the behavior law of studied material using Barlat?s model and Hollomon?s isotropic hardening law. Thus, from the identified parameters (anisotropy coefficients and hardening coefficients), the evolution of the Lankford coefficient, deformation rate and load surfaces during the maturation time for three load directions (0°: rolling direction, 45° and 90°) are described. This study allows optimizing the response of the aluminum alloy to plastic strains, resulting from forming processes measured against the best time during maturation and the best load direction."

"This study aimed to determine the effect of using acrylonitrile butadiene styrene in place of conventional wax material on treatment pattern removal in the investment casting process. There are three controllable process variables that can affect treatment pattern removal, which include temperature increase, holding time and the number of layers of ceramic shell that have been considered for comparison. Comparison among the effects of temperature increase, holding time and numbers of ceramic shell layers on the ceramic shell was analyzed using ANOVA. It was found that temperature increase (Tx), holding time (t) and number of layers of ceramic shell (N) contribute significantly to the length of the crack (l) on the ceramic shell. The crack in the ceramic shell?s surface was analyzed using scanning electron microscope photos. Less layers number cause the increase of crack length. The combination between temperature upraise and longer holding time cause cracking delay. The experimental is conducted by using 3 (three) variants for each of layers number, temperature and holding time. The layers number is ranging between 7-9 layers. Temperature increase from room temperature until 1300oC. The layers number variant is ranging between 180-300 seconds. It was concluded that a longer holding time will result in a more intact ceramic shell, as longer holding times yield short crack lengths."

"Hasil produksi yang tidak stabil, yang diakibatkan oleh tingkat cacat produk yang tinggi dan penerapan push system menghasilkan pemborosan-pemborosan seperti, banyaknya jumlah inventori dan jumlah produk cacat, penanganan material yang berlebihan, dan gerakan-gerakan kerja yang tidak perlu. Dalam penelitian ini Value Stream Mapping digunakan untuk memetakan kondisi proses yang aktual, dengan tujuan untuk menemukan pemborosan-pemborosan yang ada. Dari peta lama disusunlah peta baru yang dirancang untuk meminimalkan proses-proses yang tidak menambah nilai pada produk yang dibuat Perilaku dari peta yang baru kemudian diperiksa dengan menggunakan simulasi. Pembuatan Detail Process Chart dari proses yang sekarang berjalan digunakan untuk memahami pemborosan dalam proses penanganan produk cacat yang tinggi.
Solusi dari masalah ini dirancang dalam proposed detail process chart sebagai panduan operasi yang baru. Kelebihan dari process chart ini adalah kemampuan dalam menggambarkan langkah proses dengan sangat detail, yang memudahkan untuk menganalisa dan membuat perbaikan terhadap proses yang sedang berjalan. Dari future map yang telah disimulasikan, didapatkan pengurangan production lead time sebesar 60,58%, dan pengurangan waktu pengerjaan 1000 unit produk, sebesar 29,88%.

Production output variation, that caused by high defect rate and push production system, produces wastes like, high inventory, defect product, poor material handling, and unnecessary motion. In this study Value Stream Mapping used for mapping current process, to find wastes. Future map is build based on current condition, which is designed for minimizes process that not add value to the product, after that the behavior of proposed production system is checked by using simulation. Detail process chart is used for understanding the wastes that related to high defect rate.
The solution for this problem is constructed in proposed detail process chart as a new guidance for the operation. This process chart is able to visualize in detail, steps in a process that it will make easier to analyze and propose improvement in current condition. From the simulated future state, we got 60,58% reduction in production lead time, and 29,88% reduction in process time to produce 1000 unit product.

"Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM) merupakan komoditi energi strategis yang ketersediaannya sangat diperlukan dan BPH Migas merupakan instansi Pemerintah yang mempunyai fungsi menjamin ketersediaan BBM dengan tugas melaksanakan pengawasan dan pengaturan terhadap entitas usaha yang di bidang BBM. Dalam kaitannya dengan fungsi pengawasan, badan usaha wajib memberikan laporan kepada BPH Migas. Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang ada saat ini, menuntut proses bisnis pelaporan Badan Usaha kepada BPH Migas dilaksanakan menggunakan aplikasi secara online. Tujuan laporan praktik keinsinyuran ini adalah melakukan pengembangan aplikasi dalam mendukung tugas BPH Migas untuk mengetahui struktur data yang dihasilkan yang selanjutnya digunakan dalam peramalan konsumsi BBM. Proses pengembangan aplikasi dilaksanakan melalui tahapan identifikasi kebutuhan, rancangan desain aplikasi, pelaksanaan pengembangan aplikasi, uji coba, deployment dan go-live. Kesimpulan dari hasil praktik keinsinyuran ini yaitu, aplikasi membantu kemudahan pelaksanaan proses bisnis, pengolahan data yang cepat, waktu pemrosesan terukur, dan struktur data aplikasi dapat digunakan lebih lanjut sebagai input dalam analisis proyeksi konsumsi BBM dengan hasil analisis proyeksi menggunakan metode causal regresi linear pada tahun 2030 sebesar ±102 juta kL, serta aspek Kesehatan, Keselamatan Kerja dan Lingkungan yang terpenuhi melalui manfaat perlindungan lingkungan dari dampak yang ditimbulkan dengan penggunaan kertas, sehingga potensi dukungan lingkungan ini akan terus termanfaatkan selama aplikasi digunakan.

Petroleum fuel is strategic energy and its availability is necessary, while BPH Migas is a government agency that has the function of ensuring the availability of fuel by carrying out supervision and regulation of business entities. Concerning the supervisory function, business entities must provide reports to BPH Migas. Current developments in information technology require reporting to be carried out using online applications. This report aims to develop fuel reporting applications, further, the data from the application will be used to provide information and forecast fuel consumption for policy planning. The conclusion from this report is that there are many benefits obtained from the use of fuel reporting applications, which are paperless, fast and accurate data processing, measurable processing time, saving costs, efficient processes, and the produced data can be used as an input in fuel consumption projection analysis with the results of the projection analysis using the causal linear regression method in 2030 amounting to ±102 million kL, as well as health, work safety, and environmental aspects are fulfilled through the benefits use of the reporting application."

Masalah teknis yang dihadapi dalam penyimpanan biji kakao kering adalah menjaga kelembaban udara dalam ruang penyimpanan sehingga organisme dan hama tidak merusak biji kakao. Kondisi udara di daerah tropika yang lembab menyebabkan komoditas kakao mudah mengalami kerusakan saat disimpan.
