"ABSTRAKTesis ini membahas manajemen koleksi yang dilaksanakan di Museum Batik Pekalongan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa manajemen koleksi yang dilaksanakan di Museum Batik Pekalongan masih bersifat tradisional. Pengadaan koleksi yang tidak sesuai dengan visi dan misi museum. Dokumentasi koleksi yang tidak tertata rapi. Konservasi koleksi yang belum maksimal. Restorasi koleksi yang tidak dijalankan. Hasil penelitian menyarankan bahwa Museum Batik Pekalongan perlu menerapkan kebijakan manajemen koleksi. Kebijakan yang mengatur cara kerja aspek-aspek dalam manajemen koleksi, yaitu pengadaan koleksi, dokumentasi koleksi, konservasi koleksi, dan restorasi koleksi.

ABSTRACT

This thesis discusses collections management held at the Batik Museum in Pekalongan. This research is a descriptive qualitative research design. Results of this study showed that collections management held at the Batik Museum in Pekalongan is still traditional. Acquiring collection does not fit with the vision and mission of the museum. Documentation of collection are not well organized. Conservation of collection is not maximized. Restoration of collection are not executed. The results suggest that the Batik Museum in Pekalongan need to implement the collection management policies. Policies that govern the workings of the aspects of collection management, acquiring collection, documentation of collection, conservation of collection, and restoration of collection."
