"ABSTRAKTulisan tentang Pasukan Bergajah bertujuan untuk menjelaskan peristiwa yang terjadi pada zaman kenabian dahulu, terutama pada masa sebelum Nabi Muhammad SAW dilahirkan. Masa lapang setelah Nabi Isa a.s. diangkat ke langit dan sebelum Nabi Muhammad saw. dilahirkan disebut sebagai Zaman Jahiliyah atau Zaman Kebodohan. Pada masa tersebut masyarakat Arab mela.k:ukan hal-haJ yang tidak dapat diterima akal sehat manusia. Oleh karena itulah, Allah menurunkan Rasulullah SAW agar kebodohan dan kejahilan tersebut berakhir, khususnya dan untuk semua umat manusia di dunia sepanjang masa. Tahun kelahiran Rasulullah SAW dikenaJ dengan nama Tahun Gajah. Tahun itu bertepatan dengan terjadinya suatu peristiwa sejarah yang amat dahsyat, yaitu penghancuran pasukan bergajah yang dipimpin Raja Abrahah dari negeri Yaman oleh Allah swt.
