"The objective of this study is to assess whether recent marital discussion on family planning is associated with contraceptive use among young couples residing in rural Maharashtra, India. The study methods used involved analysis of baseline data collected from 867 couples participating in the CHARM Family Planning evaluation trial. Participants were surveyed on demographics, contraceptive behaviour, and a six-item scale on marital discussions concerning family planning (including family size and contraceptive use) over the preceding six months. Multivariate logistic regression analysis assessed associations between marital family planning discussions and current modern contraceptive use for birth spacing, adjusting for demographics. The results revealed that 22.0 per cent of women reported current use of modern contraceptives for birth spacing. Nearly half (46.4 per cent) of women reported 'high marital family planning discussion/ based on a median split dichotomizing the scale as high or low. Women who reported 'high discussion' on family planning compared to those with low discussion' were seven times more likely to use modem contraceptives for birth spacing (45.4 per cent 9.8 per cent; adjusted odds ratio = 7.1, 95 per cent, confidence interval = 4.9 - 10.3). In conclusion, the findings support promotion of marital family planning counselling to improve contraceptive use among young rural married couples."

"Relasi gender di Indonesia masih diwarnai oleh kuatnya pembagian kerja menurut jenis kelamin dalam keluarga. Ide bahwa suatu aktivitas tertentu merupakan tanggung jawab suami dan aktivitas lain merupakan tanggung jawab istri berlaku juga dalam isu terkait Keluarga Berencana (KB), dapat dilihat dari rendahnya persentase pemakaian KB pria di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh diskusi suami istri terhadap pemakaian KB pria serta pemilihan metode KB pria di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan data sekunder dari pendataan Survei Demografi dan Kesehatan Indonesia tahun 2017 (SDKI) modul Pria Kawin (SDKI2017-PK) dan Wanita Usia Subur (SDKI2017-WUS), hasil analisis dengan menggunakan metode regresi logistik biner menunjukkan bahwa diskusi suami istri tentang KB memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pemakaian KB pria di Indonesia. Pria yang berdiskusi tentang KB bersama dengan pasangannya memiliki kecenderungan yang lebih besar untuk memakai KB. Pendidikan istri berperan penting dalam partisipasi pemakaian KB pria, namun hubungannya tidak linear. Dalam penelitian ini, jenis pekerjaan istri tidak berhubungan dengan pemakaian KB pada pria. Dalam hal pemilihan metode, diskusi suami istri tidak berhubungan dengan metode KB yang dipilih oleh pria.

Gender relations in Indonesia are still characterized by division of labor within family. The idea that a certain activity is husbands responsibility and other activities are wifes responsibility also applies to issues related to family planning. It can be seen from the low percentage of use of male family planning in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of spousal discussion on the use of male family planning and the selection of male family planning methods in Indonesia. Using secondary data from the 2017 Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) for the Married Men module and Fertile Age Women, the results of the analysis using the binary logistic regression method show that spousal discussion about family planning provide positive and significant effect on the use of male family planning. Men who discuss family planning with their partners have a greater tendency to use family planning method. Wife education plays an important role in the use of male family planning, but the relation is not linear. In this study, wife occupation is not related to the use of male family planning. In the case of method selection, spousal discussion is not related to the method of family planning chosen by men."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan unutk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan penggunaan metode kontrasepsi jangka panjang (MKJP) pada peserta KB aktif di Kecamatan Cibadak tahun 2020. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional menggunakan data primer yang dilakukan di Kecamatan Cibadak pada Oktober 2020 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 152 responden. Penggunaan MKJP sebagai variabel dependen, sedangkan usia, tingkat pendidikan, pengetahuan, sikap, ketersediaan alat kontrasepsi, KIE KB, dukungan suami sebagai variabel independen. Data berupa hasil pengisian kuesioner dengan metode daring yang diisi sendiri oleh reponden dan dianalisis dengan uji chi-square. Berdasarkan hasil analisis didapatkan proporsi pengguna MKJP tertinggi adalah pengguna Non-MKJP (73,7%), pada masing – masing variabel proporsi tertinggi terdapat pada kelompok responden yang berada pada rentang usia 35-49 tahun (39,7%), tingkat pendidikan tinggi (31,9%), pengetahuan tentang MKJP yang tinggi (55,1%), sikap terhadap MKJP yang positif (40,2%), ketersediaan alat kontrasepsi yang tersedia (28,4%), KIE KB yang lengkap (31,9%), serta dukugan suami yang cukup (27,3%).Terdapat hubungan antara usia, tingkat pendidikan, pengetahuan, sikap, dan KIE KB dengan penggunaan MKJP. Hasil penelitian menyarankan untuk memaksimalkan KIE KB dengan memanfaatkan berbagai media yang berfokus pada penggunaan MKJP.

This study aims to determine the factors associated with the use of the long-acting contraceptive method in active family planning participants in Cibadak District in 2020. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design using primary data conducted in Cibadak District in October 2020 with a total sample of 152 respondents. The use of long-acting contraceptive (LAC) method as the dependent variable, while age, level of education, knowledge, attitudes, contraception avaliability, family planning information, education, and communication (FP IEC), support of pairs of independent variables. The data used is the results of self-administered online questionnaires and analyzed by chi-square test. Based on the analysis of the results of the research, the highest users were Non-LAC users (73.7%), for each variable the highest representation was in the group that was in the age range 35-49 years (39.7%), the level of higher education (31,9%), high knowledge of LAC (55.1%), positive attitudes towards LAC (40.2%), indicating available contraceptives (28.4%), complete FP IEC (31, 9% ), as well as adequate partner support (27.3%) There is a relationship between age, education level, knowledge, attitudes, and FP IEC with the use of the long-acting contraceptive method .The results suggest maximizing FP IEC by utilizing various media focusing on the use of LAC methods."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang peranan lembaga Badan Koordinasi Keluarga Berencana Nasional dalam memasyarakatkan program Keluarga Berencana pada masa orde baru, sehingga dapat mencapai keberhasilan secara signifikan. Tingkat keberhasilan Keluarga Berencana Nasional dalam penelitian ini dapat dilihat dari program-program yang dibuat oleh lembaga BKKBN serta bagaimana bentuk pelaksanannya di dalam masyarakat pada masa Orde Baru. Keberhasilan program Keluarga Berencana tersebut tidak luput dari adanya dukungan jaringan-jaringan yang didapat baik dari dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Fungsi dari dibentuknya jaringan itu sendiri yakni memudahkan BKKBN dalam memasyarakatkan program Keluarga Berencana. Selain itu kita juga dapat mengetahui peran serta bentuk kerja sama dari masing-masing jaringan baik dari dalam negeri maupun luar negeri yang turut membantu program Keluarga Berencana hingga mencapai tingkat keberhasilan.

This Research talks about the role of Coordinating Agency of National Family Planning in Delivering Family Planning in the New Order, until they can reaches the significant success. In this Research, National Family Planning success rate can be seen from the Programs created by The Agency of National Family Planning as well as how the implementation in the form of society in the New Order. The successful of Family Planning program wasn’t releasing from the support from domestic networks and also foreign networks. The function of formation of the network it self to help the Agency of National Family Planning to delivering the family planning program. More over, we can exactly know about the role of the contribution of each networks from domestic networks and foreign networks that helped the family planning programs to achieve the level of success."
