"The success of Indonesian mining industry cannot be separated from the effort to improve mining policies which has attracted considerable number of foreign investment. Further improvement is required to accommodate future exploration and mining to be able to meet both national and investor interest. In the future, mineral exploration in Indonesia will be influenced by tighter space arrangement regulation. It is therefore recommended that people from mining industry could intensify exploration as well as mining development without damaging the environment. Besides that, they should be able to maintain important mineralized areas as mining areas."

"Indonesia has received its share of attention from the worldwide mineral exploration community. A number of articles have commented on the country's attractiveness as a target as regards foreign investment in mineral sector. While these articles no doubt are well intentioned, they often fail to satisfactorily highlight the strong mineral procpectivity throughout much of Indonesia. This factor should not be overlooked when one considers the level of mineral exploration directed towards Indonesia by mining companies. This paper will consider 13 of the more significant greenfield mineral prospects within the country primarily by considering the in-ground value of each. This value is quite substantial and very relevant in the choice of Indonesia as an investment destination."

This study was conducted to evaluate the prospect of VMS deposits in the research area 'X' in Bone District, South Sulawesi using the resistivity method integrated with induced polarization. There are 15 measurement lines with a wenner configuration. The length of the measurement line is 750 meters, electrode spacing is 10 meters, and the distance between lines is 100 meters. This study was conducted using a two-dimensional inversion method with a least-squares smoothness-constrained inversion method, and three-dimensional visualization using an inverse distance weighting interpolation method. This research area has a distribution of resistivity values ranging from 6.12 ohm.m to 850 ohm.m and has a chargeability value distribution ranging from 0 msec to 12 msec. A combination of low resistivity and low chargeability values is correlated with weak zones as indicators of hydrothermal alteration and function as a flow/circulation of hydrothermal fluids carrying sulfide minerals. While the combination of moderate resistivity values and high chargeability values is correlated with the accumulation of sulfide minerals, which are interpreted as potential VMS deposit areas. Overall, the research area has potential VMS deposits with a pattern centered on the eastern part of the research area. The recommended potential VMS deposit zone is the zone located on lines E, F, G, and M."

Environment of low sulfidation epithermal ore deposition is still a fascinating study to be investigated further. Formation is generally shallow depth of about 100-600 meter. On the surface outcrops become a major factor in the difficulty of detecting subsurface structure in the high sulfidation. Theoretically branched deployment veins are also the cause of the difficulty of interpretation of the anomalous body. This is certainly a challenge for the geophysical world today. Of this problem resistivity method is very effective in finding the existence of anomalous body. On the study at the area "B" zones of mineralization detected by the IP method represented by chargeability values > 300 ms. IP methods obtain good results because of the low sulfidation environment that is close to the surface of the deposition may have clay alteration that can more optimally IP response. In the area "B" reads the value of anomalous resistivity of > 300 Ohm.m supposedly the area was a zone of intrusion, while the low resistivity values were detected on the east side is estimated to come from the rocks change or alteration. The next magnetic method is used to localize metal mineralized zones assosiated with quartz as gaunge mineral with anomalous values decreased to <45000 nT. With an integrated interpretation as the results of the three methods is expected to determine the zones of gold mineralization indicated by the high anomaly on all three methods so that the drilling success ratio can be improved gold mineral exploration."
