"Skripsi ini mendeskripsikan tentang bagaimana konstruksi nilai-nilai femininitas yang ideal dalam masyarakat perkotaan Jakarta memengaruhi perempuan dalam memandang karakter perempuan yang ideal. Pandangan tersebut menimbulkan reaksi berupa stereotipe negatif terhadap perempuan yang melakukan kegiatan yang dianggap tidak feminin. Kegiatan tersebut salah satunya adalah menekuni olahraga beladiri Taekwondo, beladiri keras asal negeri Korea yang menggunakan kaki sebagai senjata utama dalam menyerang. Skripsi ini menjelaskan bagaimana perempuan taekwondoin yang telah berlatih hingga level senior dalam memandang nilai-nilai feminin yang ideal, serta batas antara femininitas dan maskulinitas dalam diri seorang perempuan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bagaimana para perempuan taekwondoin ini memandang citra tubuh mereka sendiri. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun telah mengalami dekonstruksi, perempuan yang berlatih taekwondo sejak usia dini tetap memiliki pandangan yang terkonstruksi oleh budaya mengenai definisi perempuan feminin yang ideal.

This thesis describes how the construction values of ideal femininity in Jakarta urban society affects women’s view of the character of the ideal woman. This view is cause a reaction in the form of negative stereotypes of women who engaged in activities that considered not feminine. One of these activity is to pursue Taekwondo martial arts, origin of Korean’s hard martial art that using leg as a major weapon in attack. This thesis describes how taekwondoin women who have been practicing up to senior level in view of the values of the ideal feminine, and the line between femininity and masculinity in a woman. In addition, this study also shows how women's taekwondoin saw their own body image. The results of this study indicate that despite having deconstruction, women who practice taekwondo in early age still have a culture constructed by the definition of the ideal feminine woman."
