"ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang. Infertilitas merupakan sumber keluhan dan kecemasan pada pasangan suami istri. Infertilitas dialami oleh sekitar 50 ndash; 80 juta pasangan di dunia. Di Indonesia terdapat kurang lebih 12 pasangan infertil. Salah satu penyebab gangguan kesuburan atau infertilitas yang dialami pasangan suami istri adalah yang penyebabnya tidak terjelaskan unexplainned . Dikatakan infertil tidak terjelaskan karena pada semua pemeriksaan standar pasangan suami istri termasuk tes ovulasi, patensi tuba dan analisis sperma berada dalam keadaan normal. Sebagian besar masalah infertil tidak terjelaskan dikaitkan dengan gangguan imunologi yang terjadi antara suami istri, dengan adanya perubahan peningkatan indeks proliferasi limfosit sebagai indikator.Metode. Dilakukan pengambilan sampel darah tepi dan pemisahan SMDT pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan. Sebelum dilakukan kultur MLR Mixed Lymphocyte Reaction , SMDT suami diinkubasi dengan Mitomycin C. Kultur MLR SMDT suami dan istri selama 72 jam. Dilakukan labelling sel dengan BrdU untuk mengetahui indeks proliferasi yang menunjukkan nilai proliferasi sel limfosit. Hasilnya dibandingkan dengan istri pasangan fertil.Hasil. Dari 11 pasangan Infertil tidak terjelaskan dan 4 pasangan fertil, terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara indeks prolifersi sel limfosit istri dengan medium standar pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan dibandingkan indeks prolifersi sel limfosit istri pasangan fertil p = 0,01 . Terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara indeks proliferasi sel limfosit istri yang diberi stimulan IL2 pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan dengan sel limfosit istri pasangan fertil setelah kultur 72 jam p = 0,049 . Terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara indeks proliferasi sel limfosit istri pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan dengan sel limfosit istri pasangan fertil yang di stimulasi oleh sel limfosit suami setelah kultur MLR 72 jam p = 0,014 . Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara indeks proliferasi sel limfosit istri pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan yang diberi stimulan IL2 dengan sel limfosit istri pasangan fertil yang di stimulasi oleh sel limfosit suami setelah kultur MLR 72 jam p = 0,115 . Tidak terdapat perbedaan antara proliferasi sel limfosit pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan dengan metode MLR pada pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan setelah menikah lebih dari 5 tahun dan kurang dari 5 tahun p=0,202 . Hasil penelitian ini menguatkan dugaan adanya peran imunologi sebagaian dalam terjadinya infertil tidak terjelaskan.

ABSTRACT
Infertility is a source of worry of the couple. Infertility is occured in 50 80 millions couple in the world. There is almost 12 infertile couple in Indonesia. One of the reason of this infertility problem is unexplainned. Diagnosis of unexplainned infertility is made when all of the basic evaluation including ovulation test, tubal patency and normal sperm analysis are established. The potential cause of unexplainned infertility has been described mostly as an immunology problem, where as there is a change of lymphocyte proliferation as an indicator.Method. Peripheral blood and lymphocyte isolation were collected from unexplainned infertile couples and fertile couples. Before MLR the husband rsquo s lymphocytes were incubated with mitomycin C. The MLR between husband and wife rsquo s lymphocytes were cultured for 72 hours. The cell were labelled with BrdU to measure proliferation index that show lymphocyte proliferation assay. The result were compared between unexplainned infertile couples and controls. Result. From 11 unexplainned infertile couples and 4 fertile couples, There was a significant difference between wife rsquo s lymphocyte proliferation index with the standard medium of unexplained infertile couples compared to the fertile wife 39 s lymphocyte proliferation index p 0.01 . There was a significant difference between the proliferation index of wife rsquo s lymphocyte cells induced by IL2 stimulant of unexplained infertile couples with fertile lymphocyte cell after culture 72 hours p 0.049 . There was a significant difference between unexplainned infertile couples lymphocyte cell proliferation index indices with the fertile wife lymphocyte cell were stimulated by husband 39 s lymphocyte cells after culture of MLR 72 hours p 0.014 . There was no significant difference between unexplained infertile couples lymphocyte cell proliferation index induced by IL2 stimulant with fertile lymphocyte cells stimulated by husband lymphocyte cells after culture of MLR 72 hours p 0.115 . There was no difference between unexplained infertile lymphocyte cell proliferation with MLR method in unexplained infertile couples after marriage of more than 5 years and less than 5 years p 0.202 . The results of this study reinforce the alleged existence of immunological role in the occurrence of infertile unexplained. "ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang. Gangguan kesuburan merupakan masalah kesehatan reproduksi di dunia yang terjadi pada 10-15% pasangan suami istri. Salah satu penyebab gangguan kesuburan atau infertilitas yang dialami pasangan suami istri adalah yang penyebabnya tidak terjelaskan (unexplained). Dikatakan infertil tidak terjelaskan karena pada semua pemeriksaan standar pasangan suami istri termasuk tes ovulasi, patensi tuba dan analisis sperma berada dalam keadaan normal. Sebagian besar masalah infertil tidak terjelaskan dikaitkan dengan gangguan imunologi yang terjadi antara suami istri, dengan adanya perubahan atau pergeseran proporsi subpopulasi limfosit sebagai indikator.
Metode. Dilakukan pengambilan sampel darah tepi dan pemisahan sel mononukleus pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan. Sebelum dilakukan MLR (Mixed Lymphocyte Reaction) sel mononukleus suami istri, dilakukan pemeriksaan typing sel T CD4+, CD8+ dan sel B CD19+ sel mononukleus istri. Sebelum kultur MLR, sel mononukleus suami diinkubasi dengan Mitomycin C. Kultur MLR sel mononukleus suami dan istri selama 72 jam. Dilakukan typing sel T CD4+, CD8+ dan sel B CD19+ sel mononukleus istri setelah kultur. Hasilnya dibandingkan dengan istri pasangan fertil.
Hasil. Dari 15 pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan dan 6 pasangan fertil, tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna pada rentang usia istri kedua kelompok (p = 0,078). Peningkatan nilai rerata populasi sel T CD4+, CD8+ dan sel B CD19+ sesudah kultur MLR lebih tinggi pada istri pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan dibandingkan istri pasangan fertil, meskipun secara statistik tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna (p = 0,223, p = 0,126, p = 0,462). Proporsi peningkatan proliferasi sel T CD4+, CD8+ sesudah kultur MLR pada istri pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan berbeda bermakna dibandingkan dengan istri pasangan fertil (p = 0,044 dan p = 0,003). Hasil penelitian ini menguatkan dugaan adanya peran imunologi pada sebagian pasangan infertil tidak terjelaskan.

ABSTRACT
Background. Infertility is a world reproductive health problem which is occured in 10-15% of the couples. One of the reason of this infertility problem is unexplained. Diagnosis of unexplained infertility is made when all of the basic evaluation including ovulation test, tubal patency and normal sperm analysis are established. The potential cause of unexplained infertility has been described mostly as an immunology problem, whereas there is a change or modulation of lymphocyte subpopulation proportion as an indicator.
Method. Peripheral blood and lymphocyte isolation were collected from unexplained infertile couples and fertile couples. Immunotyping of CD4+, CD8+ T cells and CD19+ B cell from wife?s lymphocyte of both group were measured before the mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR). Before MLR, the husband?s lymphocytes were incubated with Mitomycin C. The MLR between husband and wife?s lymphocytes were cultured for 72 hours. Immunotyping of CD4+, CD8+ T cells and CD19+ B cell after cultured and compared between unexplained infertile couples and controls.
Results. From 15 unexplained infertile couples and 6 fertile couples, there were no statistical different in the age ranges between the wife of both group (p = 0,078). The mean number population of CD4+, CD8+ T cells and CD19+ B cell after MLR cultured were higher from the wife of unexplained infertile group compared to the wife of fertile group, but there were no statistical different between them (p = 0,223, p = 0,126, p = 0,462). Increased proportion of CD4+, CD8+ T cells proliferation after MLR cultured from the wife of unexplained infertile couple were significantly different compared to the wife of fertile group (p = 0,044 and p = 0,003). This results suggested that there is a tendency for immunological factor involvement in the pathogenesis of partially unexplained infertility couples"

"Diabetes melitus (DM) tipe 2 adalah penyakit yang berhubungan dengan kondisi inflamasi ringan kronis. Selain terjadi peningkatan kadar sitokin proinflamasi, diduga terjadi gangguan pada mediator antiinflamasi, yaitu enzim indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis produksi IDO dari kultur peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) pada penderita DM tipe 2 dan meneliti hubungan IDO dengan kadar sitokin proinflamasi seperti TNF-α, IL-6, dan IFN-γ; serta sitokin antiinflamasi, IL-10. Sampel PBMC diambil dari 21 pasien DM tipe 2 dan 17 subjek kontrol sehat kemudian dilakukan kultur dengan stimulasi phytohemagglutinin (PHA). Setelah kultur selama 3 hari, produksi TNF-α, IL-6, IFN-γ, dan IL-10 diukur menggunakan multiplex immunoassay, sedangkan kadar IDO diukur menggunakan ELISA. Kadar IDO dari kultur PBMC tanpa stimulasi dan dengan stimulasi PHA secara signifikan lebih tinggi pada pasien DM tipe 2 dengan p<0,001 dan p=0,012. Sebanyak 52,8% pasien DM tipe 2 mengalami penurunan produksi IDO setelah distimulasi PHA dan hal tersebut berhubungan dengan kadar IFN-γ yang rendah dengan p=0,005. Di lain pihak, 42,8% pasien DM tipe 2 mengalami peningkatan produksi IDO setelah stimulasi PHA dan hal ini berhubungan dengan rasio TNF-α/IL-10 (r=0,513 p=0,079), IL-6/IL-10 (r=0,446 p=0,114) dan IFN-γ/IL-10 (r=0,422 p=0,129). Pada DM tipe 2, terjadi perubahan produksi IDO. IFN-γ yang rendah berkontribusi pada penurunan produksi IDO. Sementara itu, respon proinflamasi berhubungan dengan peningkatan produksi IDO.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is associated with chronic low-grade inflammatory condition. Besides the increased of proinflammatory cytokines level, it was found that anti-inflammatory mediators were disturbed. So, we would analyse the production of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) in PHA-stimulated PBMC from type 2 DM patients and investigate its association to pro and anti-inflammatory cytokines. PBMC samples were collected from 21 patients with T2DM and 17 healthy subjects, then followed by 3-day PHA stimulation. In vitro production of TNF-α, IL-6, IFN-γ and IL-10 were measured using multiplex immunoassay; meanwhile, IDO level was assessed using ELISA. IDO concentration from unstimulated and PHA-stimulated PBMC were significantly higher in T2DM patients with p<0,001 and p=0.012 respectively. Reduced IDO production occurred in 52,8% of T2DM and it was associated with low interferon γ with p=0.005; whereas 42,8% of T2DM had higher IDO production and had moderate positive correlations with ratio of TNF-α/IL-10 (r=0,513 p=0,079), IL-6/IL-10 (r=0,446 p=0,114) and IFN-γ/IL-10 (r=0,422 p=0,129). We could conclude that there is an alteration of IDO production after PHA stimulation in T2DM. Low interferon γ level seems to contribute in reducing IDO production. In T2DM with higher IDO production, proinflammatory responses are more influential in increasing IDO production."

"Latar Belakang : Infeksi sering didapatkan pada pasien kenker nasofaring yang menjalani kemoterapi. Infeksi disebabkan oleh rusaknya barier fisik karena efek kemoterapi atau efek kemoterapi yang akan menurunkan imunitas tubuh,Infeksi pasca kemoterapi akan menunda kemoterapi berikutnya, akibatnya respon kemoterapi menjadi tidak optimal.
Tujuan : Mendapatkan data status imunitas selular primer dan sekunder, pasca kemoterapi neoajuvan 3 siklus, data kekerapan infeksi dan perbandingan kekerapan infeksi pada pasien KNF stadium lanjut yang mendapatkan kemoterapi neoadjuvan 3 siklus pada pasien kanker nasofaring stadium lanjut, antara yang imunitas selular menurun dan yang tidak menurun.
Metode : Penelitian one group before and after observasional, 1 kelompok tanpa kontrol selama 3 bulan di gedung A lantai 8 RSCM, juli ndash; september 2015.Penurunan rerata jumlah lekosit, netrofil, CD4 , CD8, kejadian infeksi dianalisis bivariat dengan uji T berpasangan atau uji Mann Whitney.Penelitian ini juga melihat kekerapan kejadian infejsi post kemoterapi neoadjuvan.Penelitian ini menggunakan tingkat kemaknaan 0,005, interval kepercayaan 95.
Hasil : Tidak ada penurunan status imunitas selular primer, lekosit p=0,356 dan netrofil p=0,289.Terdapat penurunan status imunitas selular sekunder, CD 4 P=0,002, CD 8 P=0,001, dengan ratio CD 4 /CD 8 tidak berubah rerata CD 4 sudah rendah sejak sebelum kemoterapi.Mukositis oral dan pneumonia merupakan infeksi yang kerap didapatkan. CD4 yang rendah pada kelompok sebelum kemoterapi meningkatkan potensi infeksi selama dan sesudah kemoterapi neoadjuvan.Penurunan imunitas seluler sekunder nilai rerata jumlah CD4 berhubungan dengan peningkatan kejadian infeksi pasca siklus ke 2 p=0,016.
Kesimpulan : Tidak terdapat penurunan imunitas selular primer dan didapatkan penurunan imunitas selular sekunder pada pasien karsinoma nasofaring stadium lanjut yang menjalani kemoterapi neoadjuvan 3 siklus.Pada pasien dengan penurunan imunitas selular sekunder terdapat peningkatan kejadian infeksi mukositis oral dan pneumonia CD 4 yang rendah merupakan prediktor kejadian infeksi. Penurunan imunitas selular sekunder hanya akan meningkatkan kejadian infeksi pasca siklus ke 2 kemoterapi neoadjuvan.

Background: The infections especially in a the oropharynx often get on cancer patients nasopharyngeal .One of the causes of infection include breakdowns physical mucous barier because the tumor growth or because the effects of chemotherapy and radiation .Chemotherapy and radiation will result in side effects namely the inflammation and ulceration mouth and the oropharynx mucous called mukositis oral.selama endure chemotherapy, besides mukositis oral, infections of the also often found .Chemotherapy resulted in an emphasis on cell production immune response that result in the lekopenia with rob possibilities infection become larger.
The purpose: To asess of immunity cellular status on advanced stage nasaofaringeal patient to get 3 cycle neoadjuvan chemotherapy and assess the incident lung infection and tumor area after undergoing 3 cycle neoadjuvan chemotherapy.
The methode: Research one group before and after observational use 1 group without control. The research was done during the three months in the building a floor 8 Ciptomangunkusumo Hospital juli september 2015. The Data on the background respondents will be analyzed by a sort of descriptive set by using analysis univariat.hubungan between chemotherapy neoadjuvan and an immune response cellular will be analyzed bivariat by test wilcoxon sign rank test. In this research also be seen the proportion of the infection before pre and post chemotherapy neoadjuvan .This research using level evidence 0.05 to the interval trust 95.
Results: From 17 subject of research , 12 subjects 70,6 is laki laki , women made up subjects 29,4 .Median age patient is 46,7 , 10 patients 58,8 less than median age , 7 patients 42,2 more of age median.stadium 4a obtained on 4 patients 23,5 patients , while stadium 4 b obtained on 13 patients 76,5 .Seen from the infection after chemotherapy neoadjuvan 9 subjects 52,8 never would have experienced infection , 8 subjects 47,2 experienced infection. Looks the relationship between chemotherapy neoadjuvan 3 cycle in immunity cellular p 0,007 on cds 4 and p 0,005 on cds 8 , the immunity cellular decline in the infection look after chemotherapy neoadjuvan cycle to 2 p 0,016 on cds 4 while after cycle to 3 not seen the relationship between chemotherapy neoadjuvan 3 cycle in the infection .Count of leukosit and lymphocytes cannot be used to predict a decrease in an immune response cellular after undergoing 3 cycle neoadjuvan chemotherapy.
Conclusions: Immune response decreased on advanced stage nasopharynx carcinoma patient are undergoing 3 cycle neoadjuvan chemotherapy neoadjuvan 3 . The Decreased of cellular immune response has played of increased infection in the lung and tumor area post 2 cycle neoadjuvan chemotherapy.

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi efek pajanan suhu lingkungan terhadap proliferasi sel dan derajat nekrosis dari adenokarsinoma mammae Pada penelitian true experimental parallel design ini mencit mencit yang telah ditransplantasikan dengan adenokarsinoma mammae dibagi menjadi empat grup dengan masing masing grup dipajankan temperatur lingkungan dengan satu dari beberapa rentang suhu tertentu 20 220C 25 270C 32 340C dan 37 390C selama enam jam hari selama dua minggu Grup temperatur 37 390C dieksklusi karena semua subjek pada grup ini mati Analisis sampel berdasarkan metode AgNOR HE Dari hasil analisis AgNOR ditemukan terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam hal respon proliferasi sel antara ketiga grup temperatur ANOVA p mAgNOR 0 000 p pAgNOR 0 000 Grup temperatur 32 340C menunjukkan respon proliferasi sel yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan grup temperatur 20 220C Namun analisis HE gagal menunjukkan perbedaan signifikansi dalam hal respon derajat nekrosis antara ketiga grup temperatur nilai tes Mann Whitne Asymp Sig 2 tailed antara grup temperatur 20 220C dan kontrol 25 270C 0 241 dan nilai tes Mann Whitney Asymp Sig 2 tailed antara grup temperatur 32 340C dan kontrol 0 575 Studi AgNOR menunjukkan bahwa respon proliferasi sel adenokarsinoma mammae memiliki korelasi positif terhadap rentang temperatur Di lain pihak studi HE tidak menunjukkan adanya pengaruh temperatur terhadap derajat nekrosis adenokarsinoma mammae pada mencit

This research focuses on identifying the effect of environmental temperature exposure on cell proliferation & degree of necrosis of adenocarcinoma mammae. True experimental design (parallel) research was conducted in which the subjects (mice that have been transplanted with adenocarcinoma mammae) were divided into 4 groups with each group was exposed for 2 weeks (6 hours/day) to a environmental temperature of certain range; 20-220C, 25-270C, 32-340C, & 37-390C. In the process, the last group was excluded since all of the subjects in this group died. Sample analysis based on AgNOR & HE method was then done. From the AgNOR study, it was found that there is a significant difference in cell proliferation response between the remaining three temperature groups (ANOVA: p mAgNOR = 0.000; p pAgNOR = 0.000). The high temperature group (32-340C) shows greater cell proliferation compared to the low temperature group (20-220C). However, HE study failed to show significance in the necrosis response between the three temperature groups (Mann Whitney Test: Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value between low & control group = 0.241; Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value between control & high temp group = 0.575). In summary, AgNOR study shows that cell proliferation response in adenocarcinoma mammae shows a positive correlation with the temperature ranges. In contrast, HE study shows that temperature of any range has no effect on the degree of necrosis in mice with adenocarcinoma mammae.

"Latar belakang: Studi ini dilakukan untuk mempelajari pengaruh pemberian ekstrak akar Acalypha indica Linn terhadap viabilitas relatif dan proliferasi sel sebagai parameter neurogenesis pada kultur jaringan hipokampus tikus pascahipoksia.
Metode: Studi eksperimental in vitro pada 24 kultur primer jaringan sel saraf tikus Sprague Dowley dewasa yang dipajankan terhadap hipoksia dengan gas 5% O2/5% CO2/N2 seimbang selama 24 jam. Pascahipoksia, ekstrak Acalypha indica Linn ditambahkan pada 3 kelompok perlakuan, masing-masing dengan dosis 10, 15, dan 20 mg/mL, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol tidak ditambahkan apapun. Setiap kelompok terdiri atas 6 sampel. Setelah inkubasi selama 90 jam, viabilitas relatif sel diukur dengan 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), proliferasi sel diukur dengan 5-bromo2â??-deoxy-uridine (BrdU). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan tes parametrik one way ANOVA yang dilanjutkan dengan analisis post-hoc.
Hasil: Viabilitas relatif sel pada kultur jaringan hipokampus tikus pascahipoksia dengan pemberian ekstrak akar kucing pada dosis 10, 15, dan 20 mg/mL lebih tinggi secara bermakna dibandingkan dengan kontrol (176,95%, 220,62%, 386,02% vs. 100%). Proliferasi sel pada kultur jaringan hipokampus tikus pascahipoksia dengan pemberian ekstrak akar kucing pada dosis 10, 15, dan 20 mg/mL lebih tinggi secara bermakna dibandingkan dengan kontrol (0,132; 0,117; 0,114 vs. 0,096).
Kesimpulan: Ekstrak Acalypha indica Linn dapat meningkatkan viabilitas relatif dan proliferasi sel pascahipoksia in vitro pada dosis 10, 15, dan 20 mg/mL. (Med J Indones 2011; 20:94-9)

Abstract
Background: This research was done to study the infl uence of Acalypha indica Linn root extract towards relative cell viability and proliferation as parameters of neurogenesis in post-hypoxic hippocampal tissue culture.
Methods Experimental in vitro study using 24 primary neuronal cell cultures obtained from adult Sprague Dawley rat exposed to hypoxia with 5% O2/5% CO2/N2 balance gas for 24 hours. Post-hypoxia, Acalypha indica Linn root extract was added at doses of 10, 15, and 20 mg/mL to 3 treatment groups. No treatment was given to the control group. Each group consists of 6 samples. After 90 hours of incubation, relative cell viability was measured by using 3-(4,5- dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) examination, and cell proliferation was measured by using 5-bromo2â??-deoxy-uridine (BrdU) for cell proliferation. Data was analyzed using one way ANOVA parametric tests, then further analyzed with post-hoc analysis.
Results: The relative cell viability of rat hippocampal tissue culture treated with Acalypha indica Linn root extract with dose of 10, 15, and 20 mg/mL was signifi cantly higher than control (176.95%, 220.62%, and 386.02% vs. 100%). Cell proliferation of rat hippocampal tissue culture treated with Acalypha indica Linn root extract with dose of 10, 15, and 20 mg/mL was signifi cantly higher than control (0.132, 0.117, 0.114 vs 0.096).

"Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membandingkan hasil pengobatan adenomiosis dengan reseksi dan pemberian inhibitor aromatase. Kasus adenomiosis dengan infertilitas dikumpulkan selama 3 tahuti (Januari 1999 sampai December 2001) yang ilikonfirmasi dengan USG transvaginal. Kasus dibagi 2 kelompuk, masing-masing kelompok I (dengan reseksi per laparotomi) dan kelompok 2 (mendapat inhibitor aromatase anastrozole). Keduanya dinilai tentang gejala klinik, angka kehamilan. dan angka perkainbuhan pascaoperasi. Selama 3 tahun telah ditangani 1619 kasus infertilitas, di antaranya 66 (4.07%) adenomiosis sebanyak 55 kasus dianalisis, terdiri alas 32 kasus kelompok I dan 23 kasus kelompok 2. Dan 32 kasus yang menjalani reseksi, hasil histopatologik menunjukkan 30 (93.75%) adenomiosis dan 2 (6.25%) mioma uteri. Dalatn kelompok 1, 3 kasus hamil, 2 melahirkan bay! hiditp, I kasus teraklnr dengan abortus pada kehamilan 6 minggu. Sebanyak 25 kasus (78.1%) tidak hamil,4 kasus (12.5%) mengalami perkainbuhan, dan pada 24 kasus (75.35%) gejala-gejala klinis hilang. Sementara itu, 23 kasus kelompok 2, sebanyak 2 (8.6%) hamil, masing-masing 1 lahir hidup dan I abortus. Sebanyak 14 kasus (59.1%) gejala klinik hilang. Selama pengobatan 3 bulan dengan inhibitor aromatase terjadi penunuum ukuran lesi antara 7.31 mm' dan 25.90 mm dengan Cl 95% (p < 0.001). Disimpulkan bahwa pengobatan dengan inhibitor aromatase tidak menyembuhkan lesi, hanya mengurangi ukuran lest adenomiosis. Sebaliknya reseksi dapat menghilangkan lesi walauptin perkainbuhan dapat terjadi (12.5%) sesudah I tahun pascaoperasi. (MedJ Indones 2006; 15:18-23).

The objective of this study was to observe the results of adenomyosis management with resection and administration of aromatase inhibitor. Cases ofademyosis in infertile women were collected for rhree years (January 1999 to December 2001) and the diagnoses were confirmed using transvaginal USG. Cases were grouped into two groups, i.e. group 1 (undergoing laparotomic resection) and group 2 (receiving treatment with aromatase inhibitor of anastrozole). Both groups were evaluated for changes in clinical symptoms, rate of successful pregnancy, and postoperative recurrency rate. During three years as many as 1619 infertility cases were managed, and among which 66 (4.07%) cases of adenomyosis were diagnosed with transvaginal USG. As many as 55 cases were analyzed, i.e., 32 cases underwent resection and 23 cases received aromatase inhibitor. Of 32 cases of surgical resection, the histopathologica! results showed 30 (93.75%) cases of adenomyosis and 2 (6.25%) cases of uterus myoma. In the group undergoing resection three cases (9.4%) were successfully pregnant, i.e., two cases had live birth, one case ended up with 6-week abortion. Moreover. 25 (78.1%) cases were not pregnant and 4 (12.5%) cases had recurrency, while 24 (75.35%) cases experienced disappearance of symptoms yet not pregnant. On the other hand, of 23 canes in the group receiving aromatase inhibitor 2 (8,6%) cases were able to be pregnant, one case had live birth and another case ended up with abortion, while 14 (59.1%) cases had disappearance of symptoms yet not pregnant. During three months of treatment with aromatase inhibitor, a reduction in the lesion size between 7.3! mm and 25.90 mm' were observed with Cl 95% (p < 0.001). In conclusion, treatment with aromatase inihibitor did not heal lesions, but only reduced the size of adenomyosis lesions. On the other hand, resection could heat lesions, yet recurrency of disease may occur (12.5%) after one postoperative year. (Med J Indones 2006; 15:18-23)."
