"Latar Belakang: Perawatan restorasi resin komposit nanofilled dan nanohybrid memerlukan prosedur pemolesan untuk mengurangi tingkat kekasaran permukaan sehingga permukaan halus dan mengkilap.
Tujuan: Membandingkan kekasaran permukaan resin komposit nanofilled dan nanohybrid setelah pemolesan menggunakan teknik multiple-step.
Metode: 40 spesimen resin komposit yang dibagi ke dalam 2 kelompok 20 spesimen nanofilled Filtek Z350XT A dan 20 spesimen nanohybrid Filtek Z250XT B dipersiapkan kemudian dipoles. Setelah direndam dalam saliva buatan selama 24 jam, tingkat kekasaran permukaan diukur dengan surface roughness tester.
Hasil: Hasil rerata tingkat kekasaran permukaan beserta standar deviasi kelompok A adalah 0,0967 m 0,0174 sedangkan kelompok B adalah 0,1217 m 0,0244. Secara statistik p=0,05 terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok.
Kesimpulan: Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kekasaran permukaan resin komposit nanofilled setelah pemolesan dengan teknik multiple-step lebih baik dibandingkan dengan nanohybrid.

Background: Restorative treatment using nanofilled and nanohybrid composite should be finished and polished to reduce surface roughness and create smoother surface of the composite.
Objective: To compare the surface roughness nanofilled and nanohybrid composite resin after polishing using multi step technique.
Method: 40 composite resin specimens were divided into 2 groups 20 nanofilled specimens Filtek Z350XT A and 20 nanohybrid specimens Filtek Z250XT B was prepared and then polished. After immersion in artificial saliva for 24 hours, the surface roughness is measured with a surface roughness tester.
ResultL The mean surface roughness results along with standard deviation of group A is 0,0967 m 0,0174 while group B is 0,1217 m 0,0244. Statistically with p 0.05 , there are significant differences between each group.
Conclusion: Surface roughness of nanofilled composite resin after polishing with multiple step technique is better than nanohybrid.

"Latar Belakang: Resin komposit merupakan bahan restorasi yang telah dikembangkan komposisinya sehingga memiliki sifat estetika, fisik, dan mekanik yang lebih baik dan diharapkan dapat mengatasi masalah yang disebabkan oleh material restorasi lainnya. Resin komposit PALFIQUE® Universal Flow dari Tokuyama Dental merupakan resin komposit yang telah dikembangkan partikel filler-nya dan diklaim memiliki kemampuan pemolesan yang tinggi serta estetika yang sempurna. Salah satu sifat permukaan restorasi resin komposit, surface gloss, memegang peranan penting terhadap estetika restorasi. Surface gloss dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor intrinsik dan ekstrinsik dan diantara faktor ekstrinsik yaitu sistem pemolesan. Tujuan: Menganalisis pengaruh sistem pemolesan terhadap surface gloss resin komposit supra-nano PALFIQUE® Universal Flow tipe Super Low dan Medium. Metode: Empat puluh delapan spesimen resin komposit supranano PALFIQUE® Universal Flow berbentuk silinder berdiameter 6 mm dan tinggi 2 mm dibuat untuk penelitian ini. Spesimen dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok berdasarkan tipe resin komposit (Super Low dan Medium) dan sistem pemolesan (Sof-LexTM Spiral, Sof- LexTM XT Polishing Discs, Tanpa Pemolesan). Penyinaran resin komposit dilakukan dengan light curing unit iradiansi 1050 mW/cm2 selama 12 detik. Setiap spesimen dilakukan pengujian surface gloss dengan glossmeter sebanyak tiga kali. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik One-Way ANOVA dan Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil: Nilai surface gloss semua kelompok berada pada rentang 76–96 GU. Surface gloss tertinggi dimiliki oleh kelompok tanpa pemolesan. Sistem pemolesan Sof-LexTM XT Polishing Discs menghasilkan surface gloss lebih tinggi dibandingkan Sof-LexTM Spiral dengan perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,05). Surface gloss resin komposit tipe Super Low lebih tinggi dibandingkan tipe Medium dengan perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,01). Kesimpulan: Surface gloss turut dipengaruhi oleh tipe resin komposit dan sistem pemolesan.

Background: Composite resin is a restorative material with composition that has been developed so that it has better aesthetic, physical, and mechanical properties and is expected to overcome problems caused by other restorative materials. PALFIQUE® Universal Flow composite resin from Tokuyama Dental is a composite resin with developed filler particles and is claimed to have high polishing ability and perfect aesthetics. One of the surface properties of composite resin restorations, surface gloss, plays an important role in the aesthetics of the restoration. Surface gloss is influenced by various intrinsic and extrinsic factors and among the extrinsic factors is the polishing system. Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of different polishing systems on surface gloss of Super Low and Medium PALFIQUE® Universal Flow composite resin. Materials and Methods: Forty-eight specimens of PALFIQUE® Universal Flow supra-nano composite resin in cylindrical shape (diameter of 6 mm and height 2 mm) were used in this study. The specimens were divided into six groups by type (Super Low and Medium) and by polishing systems (Sof-LexTM Spiral, Sof-LexTM XT Polishing Discs, mylar strip). Specimens were polymerized with light curing unit for 12 seconds with light irradiance of 1050 mW/cm2. Each specimen was tested for surface gloss with a glossmeter three times. Data then were analyzed with One-Way ANOVA and Independent Sample T-Test. Results: Surface gloss value of all groups were above the clinically acceptable threshold (76–96 GU). Highest surface gloss value was shown on the mylar strip group. Higher surface gloss values were produced by Sof-LexTM XT Polishing Discs compared to Sof-LexTM Spiral, statistically significant (p<0,05). Surface gloss values were significantly higher on type Super Low compared to Medium (p<0,01). Conclusion: In this study, surface gloss value was influenced both by the type of composite resin and differences in polishing systems."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perendaman dalam akuades terhadap kekasaran permukaan komposit resin flowable nanofill dan flowable hybrid giomer. Empat puluh dua spesimen dari komposit resin flowable nanofill Filtek Supreme Ultra Flowable Restorative n=21 dan flowable hybrid giomer Beautifil Flow Plus Giomer n=21 dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok perendaman: 1 hari,7 hari dan 14 hari. Nilai kekasaran permukaan sebelum dan sesudah perendaman diukur dengan surface roughness tester. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan bermakna pada setiap kelompok perlakuan p0,05 . Disimpulkan perendaman 7 dan 14 hari dalam akuades dapat memengaruhi kekasaran permukaan komposit resin flowable nanofilled dan flowable hybrid giomer secara signifikan.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the effect of immersion in distilled water to surface roughness of flowable nanofill and flowable hybrid giomer resin composite. Fourty two specimens of flowable nanofill Filtek Supreme Ultra Flowable Restorative n 21 and flowable hybrid giomer Beautifil Flow Plus Giomer n 21 resin composite were divided into three different immersion time groups 1 day, 7 days and 14 days. The surface roughness was measured before and after immersion by surface roughness tester. The result showed that there were significant differences between each group p0.05 . It can be concluded that 7 and 14 days immersion in distilled water has significant effect on surface roughness of flowable nanofill and flowable hybrid giomer resin composite."

"Latar Belakang: Bleaching merupakan prosedur mencerahkan warna gigi dengan bantuan bahan kimia yang memiliki efek samping berupa perubahan pada permukaan material resin komposit. Sementara itu, kekasaran permukaan memainkan peran penting dalam penentuan interaksi material restorasi dengan lingkungan rongga mulut karena tekstur permukaan yang tidak baik dapat meningkatkan retensi akumulasi plak dan dapat menimbulkan penyakit lainnya. Namun, penelitian mengenai efek bleaching agent pada kekasaran permukaan melaporkan hasil yang kontroversial. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh in-home bleaching agent terhadap kekasaran permukaan resin komposit nanofilled dan microhybrid. Metode: Resin komposit nanofilled FiltekTM Z350 XT Universal Restorative (3M ESPE) dan resin komposit microhybrid FiltekTM Z250 Universal Restorative (3M ESPE) digunakan pada penelitian ini. Sebanyak 16 spesimen disiapkan dari masing-masing jenis resin komposit yang dinyatakan oleh kelompok A resin komposit nanohybrid dan kelompok B resin komposit microhybrid (jumlah total spesimen adalah 32). Seluruh spesimen dibuat dengan penumpatan material ke dalam mould dengan diameter 6 mm dan ketebalan 2 mm menggunakan kaca preparat dengan strip seluloid kemudian diberikan beban 500 gram. In-home bleaching agent (Opalescence Tooth Whitening Systems 10% Carbamide Peroxide Concentrations) diaplikasikan selama 8-10 jam/hari. Seluruh perlakuan dilakukan pada suhu 37°C dan in-home bleaching agent dibilas setiap hari selama 1 minggu dan disimpan dalam air saline steril selama periode hiatus. Kemudian, seluruh spesimen diuji dan dicatat nilai kekasaran permukaan (Ra) dalam satuan μm dengan menggunakan alat uji surface roughness tester (Surtronic® S-128) sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Data dianalisis secara statistik dengan uji Paired T-Test dan Independent T-Test. Hasil: Terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara kekasaran permukaan resin komposit nanofilled dan microhybrid sebelum dan sesudah aplikasi in-home bleaching agent (p<0,005). Terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara resin komposit nanofilled dan microhybrid sesudah aplikasi in-home bleaching agent (p<0,005). Kesimpulan: In- home bleaching agent secara signifikan meningkatkan nilai kekasaran permukaan pada kedua jenis material resin komposit dengan resin komposit nanofilled lebih rendah dari resin komposit microhybrid. Kekasaran permukaan pada kedua jenis resin komposit masih dapat diterima secara klinis karena menunjukkan nilai di bawah ambang batas kritis 0,2 μm.

Background: Bleaching is a procedure that involves lightening the color of a tooth through the application of a chemical agent, which has a side effect in the form of changes to the surface of the composite resin material. Meanwhile, surface roughness plays a vital role in determining a material’s interaction with the oral environment due to the poor surface texture of dental materials. It has a significant influence on plaque accumulation and causes other diseases. However, studies on the effect of bleaching agents on the surface roughness of dental materials have reported controversial results. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the effect of in-home bleaching agents on the surface roughness of nanofilled and microhybrid composite resin. Methods: Nanofilled composite resin FiltekTM Z350 XT Universal Restorative (3M ESPE) and microhybrid composite resin FiltekTM Z250 Universal Restorative (3M ESPE) were used in the present study. Sixteen specimens were prepared from each type of composite resin that represented by group A for nanofilled composite resin and group B for microhybrid composite resin (total number of specimens were 32). Each specimen was prepared by compressing a sufficient amount of material into a mold of 6 mm in diameter and 2 mm in thickness using glass slides with celluloid strip, then given a load of 500 grams. In-home bleaching agents (Opalescence Tooth Whitening Systems 10% Carbamide Peroxide Concentrations) were applied 8-10 hours/day. All treatment was conducted at 37°C temperature, and an in-home bleaching agent was applied and rinsed off daily for one week and stored in distilled water during the hiatus period. Then, the surface roughness of all specimens was measured and recorded (Ra) value in μm using a surface roughness tester (Surtronic® S-128) before and after being treated. Data were statistically analyzed with Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test. Result: There was a statistically significant difference between the surface roughness of nanofilled and microhybrid composite resin before and after being bleached with an in-home bleaching agent (p<0,005). There was a statistically significant difference between nanofilled and microhybrid composite resin after being bleached with an in-home bleaching agent (p<0,005). Conclusion: In-home bleaching agent significantly increased the surface roughness value of both types of composite resin with nanofilled composite resin is lower than microhybrid composite resin. Surface roughness for both composite resins is still clinically acceptable because values tested below the critical threshold of 0,2 μm."

"Latar Belakang: Pengunyahan merupakan proses makanan dihancurkan dan dicampur dengan air liur untuk membentuk bolus untuk ditelan. Proses pengunyahan memberikan tekanan pada gigi yang mempengaruhi degradasi sifat mekanik pada gigi. Salah satu cara untuk mengembalikan email yang terdegradasi adalah dilakukan restorasi dengan bahan seperti resin komposit. Bahan restorasi diharapkan memiliki sifat mekanik yang sebanding dengan email. Tujuan: Menganalisis perbedaan kekerasan mikro permukaan resin komposit mikro hibrida dengan resin komposit nano hibrida. Metode: 8 spesimen resin komposit mikro hibrida (Kerr Herculite™ Précis Composite) dan 8 spesimen resin komposit nano hibrida (Kerr Harmonize™ Nano hibrida Universal Composite) disiapkan untuk uji kekerasan mikro permukaan lalu dianalisis dengan uji Independent T-Test. Hasil Penelitian: Terdapat perbedaan bermakna dengan signifikansi p<0,041 (p<0,05) antara nilai kekerasan mikro permukaan resin komposit mikro hibrida dan resin komposit nano hibrida dengan nilai kekerasan resin komposit nano hibrida lebih tinggi (45,51 KHN) dibandingkan dengan resin komposit mikro hibrida (42,31 KHN). Kesimpulan: Resin komposit nano hibrida memiliki kekerasan mikro permukaan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan resin komposit mikro hibrida.

Background: Chewing is the process of crushing food and mixing with saliva to form a bolus for swallowing. The chewing process puts pressure on the teeth which affects the degradation of the mechanical properties of the teeth. One of the ways to restore degraded enamel is to do restoration with materials such as composite resin. The restoration material is expected to have mechanical properties comparable to that of enamel. Objective: Analyzing the differences in surface microhardness of microhybrid composite resin with nanohybrid composite resin. Methods: 8 specimens of microhybrid composite resin (Kerr Herculite ™ Précis Composite) and 8 specimens of nanohybrid composite resin (Kerr Harmonize ™ Nanohybrid Universal Composite) were prepared for surface microhardness testing and then analyzed by Independent T-Test. Result: There was a significant difference with a significance of p <0.041 (p <0.05) between the surface micro-hardness value of hybrid micro-composite resin and nano-hybrid composite resin with higher surface microhardness value for nanohybrid composite resin (45.51 KHN) compared to microhybrid composite resin. (42.31 KHN). Conclusion: The nanohybrid composite resin has higher surface microhardness compared to the microhybrid composite resin."

"ABSTRACT
Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sistem pemolesan terhadap perubahan warna resin komposit mikrohibrida setelah perendaman dalam larutan Luwakwhite coffee. Material dan Metode Penelitian: Dalam penelitian ini digunakan empat puluh dua spesimen berdiameter 6 mm dan tebal 2 mm yang dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok dengan 2 bahan yang berbeda yaitu G-aenial PosteriorTM dan Filtek Z250TM dipoles menggunakan Sof-Lex disc SuperfineTM, PoGo, dan tidak dipoles. Spesimen di polimerisasi menggunakan LED Curing Unit dengan irradiansi 700 mW/cm2 (LED Max Hilux) selama 20 detik. Setelah dipoles, spesimen direndam dalam larutan Luwak white coffee selama 7 hari. Perubahan warna diukur menggunakan colorimeter NH310 (Shenzhen 3NH) dengan sistem warna CIE Lab. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Statistik One-Way Anova Test. Hasil: Setelah dipoles, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,05) pada nilai I E1 dan nilai I a1, namun untuk nilai I L1 dan nilai I b1 tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Setelah perendaman dalam larutan Luwakwhite coffee, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,05) pada nilai I E2, nilai I b2. Sedangkan, nilai I L2 hampir terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada seluruh kelompok, kecuali G-aenial PosteriorTM yang tidak dipoles dengan Filtek Z250TM yang tidak dipoles, Filtek Z250TM yang tidak dipoles dengan Filtek Z250TM yang dipoles menggunakan Sof-LexTM Superfine, dan G-aenial PosteriorTM yang dipoles menggunakan Sof-LexTM Superfine dengan Filtek Z250TM yang dipoles menggunakan Sof-LexTMSuperfine serta nilai I a2 hampir terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada seluruh kelompok, kecuali Filtek Z250TM yang tidak dipoles dengan Filtek Z250TM yang dipoles menggunakan PoGo. Kesimpulan: Sistem pemolesan yang berbeda dapat mempengaruhi nilai perubahan warna resin komposit mikrohibrida. Pemolesan menggunakan PoGo menghasilkan perubahan warna paling kecil. Filtek Z250TM memiliki perubahan warna terkecil setelah perendaman dalam larutan Luwak white coffeeselama 7 hari.

ABSTRACT
Objectives: This study aims to analyze the influence of polishing systems on color change of microhybrid composite resin after immersion in Luwak white coffee solution.Material and Methods: In this study, fourty two specimens, 6 mm in diameter and 2 mm thick, were divided into six groups with different composite types, that is G-aenial PosteriorTM and Filtek Z250TM, polished with Sof-Lex disc SuperfineTM, PoGo and unpolished. The specimens are polymerized for 20 seconds using a 700 mW/cm2irradiance LED curing unit (LED Max Hilux). After polishing, the specimens are immersed in Luwak white coffee solution for 7 days. The color change is measured using a colorimeter NH310 (Shenzhen 3NH) with the CIE Lab color system. Data were analyzed using One-Way ANOVA test. Results: After polishing, there were statistically significant differences (p<0,05) between the I E1 and I a1 groups. However, statistically significant differences were not found between the I L1 and I b1 groups. After immersed in Luwak white coffee, there were statistically significant differences (p<0,05) between the I E22 and I b1 groups. Meanwhile, almost all of the I L2 groups showed a significant increase, except for G-aenial PosteriorTM unpolished with Filtek Z250TM unpolished, Filtek Z250TM unpolished with Filtek Z250TM polished using Sof-LexTMSuperfine, G-aenial PosteriorTM polished using Sof-LexTM Superfine with Filtek Z250TMpolished using Sof-LexTM Superfine and I a2 groups showed a significant increase, except Filtek Z250TM unpolished with Filtek Z250TM polished using PoGo. Conclusions:It was concluded that different polishing systems affect color change of the microhybrid composite resins. Polishing with PoGo produces the smallest color change. Filtek Z250TM was determined to have the smallest color change after immersion in Luwak white coffee for 7 days."

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perendaman resin komposit nanohybrid dalam obat kumur mengandung etanol dengan waktu berbeda terhadap kekasaran permukaan. Dua puluh empat spesimen resin komposit nanohybrid dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok perendaman: obat kumur etanol 17 dan 26,9 selama 1,5 jam dan 3 jam. Kekasaran permukaan diukur menggunakan surface roughness tester Mitutoyo SJ301. Berdasarkan analisis statistik uji one-way ANOVA dan uji Tukey.

ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of ethanol containing mouthwash with different concentration and duration of immersion on the surface roughness of nanohybrid composite resin. Twenty four specimens of nanoybrid composite resin were divided into 4 groups of immersion 17 ethanol containing mouthwash, and 26,9 ethanol containing mouthwash for 1,5 hours and 3 hours. Surface roughness was measured using SJ301 Mitutoyo surface roughness tester. Statistical analysis of one way ANOVA and Tukey test."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pasta gigi yang mengandung charcoal terhadap kekasaran permukaan resin komposit nanohibrida. 24 spesimen resin komposit nanohibrida dikelompokkan menjadi 3 kelompok (n=8), masing-masing kelompok disikat dengan medium akuades, pasta gigi Formula Strong®, dan pasta gigi Formula Charcoal®. Penyikatan dilakukan sebanyak 5.000putaran kemudian dilanjutkan mencapai 10.000putaran. Ra diukur dengan Surface Roughness Tester. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa menggunakan Uji Repeated ANOVA dan One Way ANOVA. Ra setelah penyikatan dengan medium pasta gigi Formula Strong® dan Formula Charcoal® tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang bermakna. Dapat disimpulkan, tidak ada pengaruh kandungan charcoal terhadap peningkatan Ra resin komposit nanohibrida.

This study verified the influence of toothpaste contains charcoal on the surface roughness of nanohybrid composite resin. Twenty-four specimens of nanohybrid composite resin are divided into three group (n=8) brushed with distilled water, Formula Strong®, and Formula Charcoal® toothpaste. Brushing were performed for 5.000rotates and continued until 10000rotates. Ra were determined by Surface Roughness Tester. The results were statistically analized using Repeated ANOVA and One Way ANOVA test. The roughness mean values after brushing with Formula Strong® and Formula Charcoal® showed no statistically significant difference. These result suggest that no effect of charcoal on surface roughness of nanohybrid composite resin."
