"The sustainability of agri-food supply chains is particularly relevant for global sustainable development. Many existing food production systems do more harm than good. They compromise the natural rhythms of the Earth, introduce toxins, and therefore sacrifice future capability for current demands the opposite of sustainable development norms. The existing system is also unbalanced with respect to its capacity to produce, the amount of waste it generates, the number of people who suffer from hunger, and the nutritional value it provides. Most of the current supply chains have been developed within the classic economic paradigm, where scale and leverage drive choices towards more profitable models. As a consequence, finding new ways to produce, distribute and consume food is a morale, financial, and environmental necessity. Sustainable development and triple bottom line perspectives provide the logic for questioning this paradigm. This book presents and discusses nine cases of organizational innovation in food supply chain, covering different phases of food production, facing different challenges, and proposing different solutions to the challenge of sustainable food development."

"Peluang mengembalikan kejayaan industri coklat Indonesia di level dunia masih terbuka luas dengan mulai bertumbuhnya industri artisan coklat yang memiliki posisi yang baik dalam menggerakkan industri yang ramah lingkungan dengan produk yang berkualitas tinggi dibandingkan dengan industri coklat komoditas yang telah lama dikenal praktik produksinya yang tidak berkelanjutan. Industri artisan coklat turut mendorong semangat petani kakao untuk mendapatkan pendapatan yang lebih tinggi dengan pemenuhan standar kualitas. Pemerintah telah mulai melirik dan mendorong sektor industri artisan coklat ini untuk bertumbuh. Penelitian ini mengembangkan sebuah model kebijakan dengan mempertimbangkan aspek keberlanjutan di sepanjang rantai pasok makanan pertanian yang memiliki karakteristik multi-aktor dengan menggunakan pendekatan model sistem dinamik dengan integrasi data kinerja lingkungan dengan pendekatan life cycle assessment. Hasil simulasi memberikan konfirmasi adanya saling pengaruh antar ketiga aspek berkelanjutan yaitu ekonomi, lingkungan dan sosial, terutama dari tiga skenario yang yaitu skenario kemakmuran ekonomi, kelestarian lingkungan dan kesejahteraan sosial. Secara umum hasil simulasi menunjukkan adanya peluang peningkatan kesejahteraan namun tanpa adanya dukungan tambahan dan insentif kepada petani, keberlanjutan sulit untuk dicapai. Sebagai tambahan, model kebijakan yang dihasilkan dapat dijadikan instrumen pendukung keputusan untuk pembuatan kebijakan pengelolaan rantai pasok sektor industri artisan produk makanan pertanian secara umum.

The opportunity to reinstate the glory of the Indonesian chocolate industry at the world level is widely open due to the growth of the artisanal chocolate industry, which is well-positioned to move the chocolate industry in the direction of improved environmentally conscious production practices and higher-quality products comparing the commodity chocolate industry has been long recognized for unsustainable. The artisanal chocolate industry encourages cocoa farmers to earn higher incomes by fulfilling quality standards. The government has started to pay more attention and promote the artisanal chocolate industry sector to develop in the future. This study developed a policy multi-actor model based on a system dynamics approach by considering sustainability aspects along the agri-food supply chain by integrating environmental performance through a life cycle assessment approach. The simulation results of this model showed the mutual influence between the three aspects of sustainability, namely economic, environmental, and social, by examining three scenarios that are expected to meet the three sustainability principles: economic prosperity, environmental sustainability, and social welfare. The simulation also shows that although there are opportunities to increase welfare, sustainability is difficult to achieve without additional support and incentives for farmers. In addition, our policy model can be used as a decision-support tool, specifically in the chocolate industry and for similar artisan food and agriculture sectors that mostly have a similar supply chain."

"Kebanyakan petani sayur mayur mengalami masalah dalam
memperbaiki keamanan dan kualitas sayur-mayur untuk dipasarkan ke konsumen kelas menengah-atas di pasar modern. Koperasi dan/atau Kelompok Tani (KKT) seharusnya dapat membantu anggotanya dengan memasarkan secara langsung ke perusahaan ritel modern. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengembangkan model agri-food supply chain
(ASC) yang melibatkan aktivitas tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan (TJSP) untuk memberdayakan KKT sebagai pemasok pada ritel modern. Aktivitas TJSP dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bisnis para anggota KKT dan memperbaiki kualitas sistem pendistribusian sayur mayur. Model optimisasi tujuan majemuk dikembangkan untuk
mementukan varibel keputusan terdiri dari jumlah dan waktu pasokan, tingkat pelatihan yang diikuti, target perbaikan kualitas, dan total biaya untuk aktivitas TJSP. Dari hasil contoh numerik dapat ditunjukkan bahwa model usulan dapat digunakan perusahaan menentukan prioritas aktivitas TJSP dalam rangka memberdayakan kelompok tani menjadi pemasok.

Abstract
In general, small-scale vegetable farmers experience problems in improving the safety and quality of vegetables for supplying high-class consumers in modern retailers. Farmer Group and/or Cooperative (FGC) should be able to assistits members to meet the relevant provisions of modern retail on product specifications, delivery terms, and internal business requirements. This study proposed an agri-food supply chain (ASC) model that in volves the corporate social
responsibility (CSR) activities to enhance the business skills of
the FGC as supplier of modern retailer. Multi-objective optimization programming is developed to determine the amount and timing of supply, level of farmers training skills, quality improvement target, and the CSR total cost. The results show that the proposed model can be used to determine the priority of programs in order to empower farmers' groups as modern retail suppliers."

"Environmental design is becoming an increasingly significant agenda for many manufacturing companies and yet there is no standard to their approaches, strategies or their levels of execution. Applying design for environment (DfE) methodologies to develop a more sustainable supply chain has formed procedures and techniques which allow designers to integrate these methods with environmental supply chain management. Design for environment as a tool for the development of a sustainable supply chain aims to define relevant target specifications for a product throughout its life cycle, from conception and design to the end of its operating life.
Be considering this new approach to the supply chain, environmental responsiveness can work in tandem with sounds business management. The usual focus on suppliers, manufacturers and customers is expanded in design for environment as a Tool for the Development of a Sustainable Supply Chain to include stakeholders such as government bodies and recycling companies. marketing and communication choices which increase the value of environmentally sensitive products.

"This book provides some regional aspects considered by manufacturing firms in their decisions to gain competitiveness and have effects on the performance of their supply chains (SC). Some of the main aspects considered are: government's policies, fixed costs, the availability and quality of infrastructure services. This book also discusses the risks for the SC; based on a perception approach, some aspects studied are: demand, suppliers and production processes and how these are related to other elements of the SC. The authors use structural modeling to analyze the evaluation of some manufacturing practices and their impact on customer service satisfaction, agility and flexibility of the SC. "Industri fesyen Indonesia terus mengalami peningkatan selama satu dekade terakhir. Namun, praktik pada industri fesyen ternyata menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi aspek lingkungan dan sosial. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, pemerintah Indonesia mendorong industri fesyen untuk menerapkan praktik berkelanjutan demi mempertahankan dan meningkatkan daya saing di pasar global karena hal itu dipercaya sebagai masa depan bisnis. Oleh karena itu, perlu ditentukan indikator utama dalam penerapan sistem rantai pasok berkelanjutan di industri fesyen yang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur kinerja sistem rantai pasok berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan indikator kinerja utama (KPI) yang relevan dalam penerapan rantai pasok berkelanjutan di industri fesyen Indonesia. Di tahap awal, penelitian ini meninjau indikator keberlanjutan yang ada untuk dijadikan shortlist indikator awal. Kemudian, indikator tersebut divalidasi dan dinilai oleh delapan ahli. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Content Validity Index (CVI) untuk memvalidasi indikator dan metode DANP untuk menganalisis hubungan dan prioritas indikator. Penelitian ini menghasilkan 21 indikator dari tiga dimensi berkelanjutan. Dimensi yang paling penting adalah ekonomi dan indikator yang paling penting adalah biaya operasional, kepuasan pelanggan, kepatuhan lingkungan, penggunaan teknologi ramah lingkungan, serta pendidikan dan pelatihan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan lebih lanjut oleh industri fesyen untuk meningkatkan kinerja keberlanjutan mereka.

The Indonesian fashion industry has continuously been growing since the last decade. However, the fashion industry practices produce negative environmental and social consequences. To overcome these issues, the Indonesian government encourages Indonesian fashion industries to adhere to sustainable practices to maintain and improve competitiveness in the global market since it is believed to be the future of the business. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the main indicators of sustainable practices in the fashion industry to measure the performance of a sustainable supply chain system. This study aims to develop a set of relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) in implementing a sustainable supply chain for the Indonesian fashion industry. Initially, this study reviewed the existing sustainability indicators to develop an initial short-list of indicators. Then, indicators were validated and assessed by a group of eight experts. This study utilized content validity index (CVI) methods to validate the indicators and DANP method to analyze and prioritize the indicators. This study resulted in 21 indicators from three sustainability dimensions. The most important dimension was economic and the most important indicators were operating costs, customer satisfaction, environmental compliance, implementation of environmentally friendly technology, and education and training. The result of this study could be further used by the fashion industries to improve their sustainability performance."

"Pengukuran kinerja rantai pasok perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui kondisi rantai pasok dari suatu perusahaan, yang akan menjadi titik awal dilakukannya perbaikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada PT. Surya Pelangi Nusantara Sejahtera sebagai perusahaan manufaktur plastik. Metode yang digunakan adalah Supply Chain Operations Reference SCOR sebagai kerangka pengukuran kinerja, metode Analytical Hierarchy Process AHP untuk melakukan pembobotan pada setiap indikator, serta sistem pengelompokkan Traffic Light System untuk mengelompokkan kinerja dengan warna.
Tujuan dari pengukuran ini adalah untuk mengukur kinerja rantai pasok dari internal PT. SPNS pada tahun 2017 dengan perspektif pelanggan sebagai fokus utama. Terdapat 29 indikator kinerja KPI yang akan diukur dan terbagi ke dalam perspektif model SCOR untuk tiap levelnya. Dari hasil pengukuran didapatkan kinerja rantai pasok PT. SPNS pada tahun 2017 sebesar 69,31 yang menunjukkan kinerja perusahaan hanya berada pada kategori rata ndash; rata dengan warna kuning. Lalu, setiap KPI akan dipetakan ke dalam kuadran Importance Performance Analysis IPA untuk mendapatkan KPI menyebabkan kinerja rantai pasok perusahaan rendah.
Dengan menggunakan kuadran IPA didapatkan 6 KPI pada rantai pasok perusahaan yang kinerjanya kurang baik, maka dari itu diperlukan strategi untuk dapat memperbaiki kinerja tersebut. Usulan strategi yang diberikan dianalisis menggunakan metode House of Quality HOQ dan diagram pareto, didapatkan 6 usulan strategi yang diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak besar bagi perusahaan yaitu memberikan reward, punishment, dan motivasi kepada pekerja; mengadakan training untuk pekerja secara berkala; melakukan pengawasan pada masing-masing departemen; memberikan APD Alat Pelindung Diri kepada para pekerja; memperbaiki mesin-mesin yang rusak; serta mengurangi tingkat terjadinya changeover warna/mold pada produksi.

Supply chain performance measurement need to be done to determine the supply chain condition of one company, which will become the starting point of improvement. This research was conducted at PT. Surya Pelangi Nusantara Sejahtera PT. SPNS as a plastic manufacturing company. The method used in this research are Supply Chain Operations Reference SCOR as a performance measurement framework, Analytical Hierarchy Process AHP method to determine the weight for each performance indicators, as well as Traffic Light System to classify performance with colors.
The purpose of this measurement is to measure the supply chain performance of PT. SPNS in 2017 from customer perspective as the main focus. There are 29 performance indicators KPIs that are going to measured and divided into SCOR model's perspectives for each level. The result of the measurement is the performance of PT. SPNS'supply chain in 2017 is 69.31 which shows the company 39 s performance is only in the average category with yellow category color. Then, each KPI will be mapped to the Importance Performance Analysis IPA quadrant to get which indicators that causing the company's supply chain performance to be not good.
From IPA's quadrant, there are 6 KPIs in the supply chain that have poor performance. Hence, the strategies to improve the performance are needed. The proposed strategy is analyzed using House of Quality HOQ method and pareto diagram. From the diagram, there are 6 six proposed strategies chosen, which expected to give big impact to the company's supply chain performance. The strategies are giving reward, punishment, and motivation to the employees holding training for employees regularly supervise each department provide PPE Personal Protective Equipment to the employees repairing damaged machines and reduce the rate of changeover color mold on production.
