"Kelancaran proses produksi sangat ditentukan oleh tersedianya bahan baku dalam jumlah dan ukuran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan perusahaan. Hal ini disebabkan karena bahan baku merupakan faktor utama dalam pelaksanaan proses produksi pada suatu perusahaan. Pengendalian persediaan bahan baku diperlukan untuk merencanakan dan mengendalikan persediaan bahan baku guna menunjang kegiatan-kegiatan yang ada dalam perusahaan secara efisien. Tingginya tingkat persediaan bahan baku terutama bahan baku spunlace dan talc di dalam gudang penyimpanan bahan baku merupakan masalah yang harus dihadapi oleh perusahaan FMCG ini sehingga menyebabkan bahan baku harus tersimpan di luar gudang karena tingkat persediaan melebihi kapasitas yang ada.
Untuk mengurangi tingkat persediaan bahan baku tersebut maka perlu ditentukan kebijakan persediaan menggunakan metode Fixed-order Quantity (Q-model) dan Fixed-time Period (P-model) untuk menentukan beberapa parameter kebijakan persediaan seperti kuantitas pembelian, persediaan pengaman (safety stock), dan titik pemesanan kembali (reorder point). Hasil yang diperoleh dari kebijakan persediaan bahan baku dengan metode Q-model adalah average inventory mengalami penurunan mencapai 45% atau sebesar 407ton serta dapat menghemat total biaya persediaan sebesar Rp575.590.409 per tahun.

Smooth production process is largely determined by the availability of raw materials in numbers and size according to the needs of the company. This is because raw material is a major factor in the implementation of the production process in the company. Inventory control of raw materials is needed to plan and control the inventory of raw materials to support activities in the company efficiently. The high level of inventory of raw materials, especially spunlace and talc raw materials in the warehouse of raw materials is a problem that must be faced by the FMCG company is causing the raw materials must be stored outside the warehouse because the inventory level exceeds the capacity.
To reduce inventory level of raw materials is then necessary to determine the inventory policies using Fixed-order Quantity (Q-model) and Fixed-time Period (P-model) to determine some parameters of the inventory policies such as purchase quantity, safety stock, and reorder point. Results obtained from the inventory policy of raw materials with Q-model method are average inventory decreased by 45% or by 407tons and also can save total cost of inventory by Rp575.590.409 per year.
