"ABSTRAKOne of the Javanese's highest cultures is the creation of cultural wisdom that conveys the concept of fairness as expressed in propositions as well as cultural expressions. This research aims to revive the memories of Javanese cultural wisdom especially those related to fairness. Based on the propositions, the objective of this research is to identify theconcept of fairness behavior in Javanese culture. This research is qualitative. The data were collected from text booksand literary texts validated by in-depth interviews as well asforum group discussions. The data corpuses were analyzedby using componential and taxonomic analysis. Through semantic and pragmatic analysis, the fairness concept inJavanese culture can be identified.Bisa ngrumangsani is the main principle of fairness in Javanese propositions and covers two sub-ordinates propositions, i.e. self-restraint and appreciation for others. Each of these two sub-ordinate propositions covers four sub-ordinate propositions referring to action, character, desire, and competence. All of these propositions are sustained by the other proposition creating a whole concept of fairness. The results of this research are expected to serve as groundwork on how the education of national character building relating to fairness behavior can be realized. "

"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas tentang perempuan Jawa dalam novel Purnama Kingkin. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menemukan gambaran sikap tokoh utama sebagai perempuan Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian analisis deskriptif dengan kajian pustaka dan analisis struktur. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori struktur cerita yang diadaptasi dari tulisan Burhan Nurgiyantoro. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan tiga sikap tokoh utama sebagai perempuan Jawa yang sesuai dengan ungkapan budaya Jawa, yaitu aja rumangsa bisa, nanging bisaa rumangsa ?jangan merasa bisa, tetapi bisalah merasa?, sareh pakoleh ?sabar (akan) berhasil?, dan wani ngalah luhur pungkasane ?berani mengalah (akan) ?tinggi? pada akhirnya?.

ABSTRACTThis thesis discusses the Javanese women in the novel Purnama Kingkin. The purpose of this study is to find a picture of the main character?s attitude as a Javanese woman. This study uses descriptive analysis research method with a literature review and analysis of structure, using the theory of the story?s structure that adopted from Burhan Nurgiyantoro?s writings. The three main attitude of the main character as a Javanese woman matches the expression of Javanese culture, which are aja rumangsa bisa, nanging bisaa rumangsa ?Do not feel that you can, but be the one that can feel?, sareh pakoleh ?patience (will) succeed?, and wani ngalah luhur pungkasane ?dare giving in (to be) ?high? in the end?."

Dalam mendeskripsikan amanat tersebut dengan menggunakan unsur-unsur yang membangun cerita seperti alur dan tokoh penokohan. Data yang digunakan adalah buku Pakem Makutharama anggitan Ki Siswoharsojo. Penelitian ini menggunakan langkah kerja dari buku Memahami Cerita Rekaan yang ditulis oleh DR. Panuti Sudjiman. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa amanat dapat ditemukan melalui keterkaitan alur dan tokoh penokohan baik makna itu secara implisit maupun eksplisit.

ABSTRACTArdesita Yuli Kristiana, This research is intended to explain about the moral messages in the lakon Pakem Makutharama, whether it is implicit or explicit messages. The description of the moral messages is using the elements that built the story such as the storyline and the characteristics of the characters. The data that being used is the book of Pakem Makutharama anggitan Ki Siswoharsojo. The research used working procedures from the book of Memahami Cerita Rekaan (Understanding Fiction) written by DR. Panuti Sudjiman. The result of the research shows that the moral messages can be found through the relation between the storyline and the characteristics of the characters, whether they are implicit or explicit messages."

"The circulation of Panji stories throughout Southeast Asia has been studied as a textual phenomenon. These same texts, however, provide evidence of how theatrical forms were important as a source for the dispersal of Panji stories. The textual evidence demonstrates that dance-dramas presenting Panji stories were performed in Majapahit times. These dance-dramas, known as raket are continued in the gambuh of Bali as well as in Javanese topeng. They were also widely known in the Malay world, and were connected to Thai and Cambodian theatrical forms."

"Panji Paniba of 1816 is a Panji story. It is built on a plot which is characteristic of Panji stories: four Javanese kingdoms in a Hindu setting, a princess who disappears and a prince, her fiancé, who finds her again. Another characteristic of Panji tales is the happy ending of marriages and successions to thrones. Interestingly in Panji Paniba a foreign king has a role to play. Crucial to our understanding of this particular version of Panji stories is the special attention it pays to types of marriages. Three types can be distinguished: proper, improper but repairable, and objectionable. How these are defined and how they influence the development of the narrative is the topic discussed in the present article."
