"The two essays provide a critical examination of theory and research in the field of evolutionary psychology. The view advanced here is that philosophical materialism and minimalist assumptions about adaptation serve Darwinian psychology better than the more popular alternative view that relies on cognitive dualism and propositional-attitude psychology to formulate evolutionary psychology theory. A commitment to cognitive dualism is destined to undermine the physical basis of behavior upon which evolutionary theory depends. The challenge is to develop a materialistic and mechanistic approach to understanding human cognition and behavior, including linguistic and social behavior."

"The first of three volumes, this book explores the role of behavior and psychology in the development, progression, and treatment of a wide range of medical disorders, discussing in detail the health psychology application based on ninth revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9) diagnostic classification. Leading researchers offer an applied clinical perspective in describing the prevalence, prevention, and treatment as well as future directions for research of prevalent disorders, including infectious diseases; endocrine, metabolic, nutritional, and immune disorders; and congenital abnormalities. This book will be an invaluable reference for health psychologists and medical professionals. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2004 APA, all rights reserved)"

A moral judgment on animal, require us to trace back the metaphysics of moral which act as man's reason. Morale is man's features that act as a guidance on the good-bad, right-wrong, ethical-non-ethical of human's behavior. It is a part of human‟s consciousness of its being and its virtue. Morale is the main factor that distinct man and animal, and therefore the moral judgment itself differ between man as a moral being and animal as a non-moral being. An ethical judgment on man requires a foundation on moral law that is formed from a dialog and agreement done between moral beings. In ethical judgment on animal, we can‟t bring moral law as its foundation for animal have a limitation on its cognitive abilities; therefore, it can‟t express itself as a being in a moral dialog. In making a judgment on animal, we can only connect by components of moral sentiment, which are virtue, sympathy, and piety, and those moral sentiments will refer back on its species relation factor and the similarities they share. An ethical judgment on animal is of particular nature, and still requires an approach based on an interest that is also owned by animals.;A moral judgment on animal, require us to trace back the metaphysics of moral which act as man's reason. "In volume I of plant genome diversity, an update is provided on what we have learned from plant genome sequencing projects. This is followed by more focused chapters on the various genomic “residents” of plant genomes, including transposable elements, centromeres, small RNAs, and the evolutionary dynamics of genes and non-coding sequences. Attention is drawn to advances in our understanding of plant mitochondrial and plastid genomes, as well as the significance of duplication in genic evolution and the non-independent evolution among sequences in plant genomes. Finally, volume I provides an introduction to the vibrant new frontier of plant epigenomics, describing the current state of our knowledge and the evolutionary implications of the epigenomic landscape."
