"Penelitian telah dilakukan untuk memperoleh strain khamir penghasil mikosin yang dapat membunuh isolat-isolat khamir kontaminan santan dan produk nata de coco. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi, Departemen Biologi, FMIPA-UI, Depok dari Desember 2006 - Mei 2007.Khamir-khamir yang digunakan adalah 18 strain khamir UICC dan 11 isolat khamir kontaminan santan dan produk nata de coco. Penapisan aktivitas mikosin menggunakan metode gores pada Killer Medium Agar (KMA) dengan pH 4,4 dan mengandung metilen biru. Hasil penapisan menunjukkan bahwa 18 strain khamir positif menghasilkan mikosin terhadap 11 isolat khamir kontaminan santan dan produk nata de coco. Pengujian aktivitas mikosin secara semi kuantitatif menggunakan metode sumur dan jumlah sel khamir penghasil mikosin yang digunakan adalah 1,2x108 sel/ml sedangkan jumlah sel khamir kontaminan adalah 3x107 sel/ml.Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 14 strain khamir positif menghasilkan mikosin terhadap tiga isolat khamir kontaminan dari santan. Dua belas strain memiliki aktivitas mikosin dengan spektrum luas sedangkan dua strain memiliki aktivitas mikosin dengan spektrum sempit. Candida rancensis C. Ramirez & A.E. Gonzales UICC Y-326 dan Rhodotorula sp. F.C. Harrison UICC Y-332 menghasilkan mikosin yang paling banyak membunuh isolat-isolat khamir kontaminan dari santan dibandingkan dengan 12 strain khamir mikosinogenik lainnya."

"ABSTRAKPhyllanthus is a giant genus of Euphorbiaceae with 1200 species. Phyllanthus spp. have long been used in folk medicine to treat several diseases. Generally Phyllanthus has aphrodisiac, diuretic, and purgative properties. In Indonesia, the species that used in medicine are P.acidus, P.buxifolius, P. emblica, P. niruri dan P. urinaria. Bogor Botanic Gardens has collected and conserved Phyllanthus spp. Since 1919."

"Gonatopus boivinii (Decne.) Engl., or 'Giraffe's Knees', is a unique plant belonging to the araceae family. The genus Gonatopus comprises five species, all of which are endemic to tropical and subtropical south eastern Africa. Amongst the species, G. boivinii is held in the collections of many botanical gardens in the world including the Bogor Botanic Gardens, Indonesia. Gonatopus ids often mistakenly named as an Amorphophallus species, due to the close similarities in appearance of the leaf of the two genera. G. boivinii was at one time recorded in the collection of the Bogor Botanic Gardens, having been documented in the garden's cataloque for the year 1930 and 1957 as planted in location Vak 11.B. VIII.152. Subsequently, the apparent loss of the species had been uncertain until recently, when G. boivinii was again found growing in another location, in Kenari Avenue 1, I.E. IN vak Z of the Gardens. The finding of the species has been reported to the Garden Registration. It is registered as a spontaneous in the garden's collection."

Six genera (24 species) of the family Thymelaeaceae (Aetoxylon, Aquilaria, Enkleia, Gyrunops, Gonystylus, Gyrinops, and Gonystylus (9 species) are cultivated in the Bogor Botanical Garden. All species og Aquilaria and Gyrinops were listed in appendix II of the CITES. "
