"ABSTRAK
Gloriosa superba, known as glory lily or climbing lily, is one of the oldest ingredient of species from ancient
time. It is native from India, to be exact in southern India. This plant has known as one of source of
colchicine. Every part of this plant contains colchicine especially its seeds and tubers. The tubers are
extremely toxic due to the presence of highly colchicine. Even though colchicine is toxic, it is used by
ayurveda as traditional folk medicine in several places to cure various ailments, such as arthritis, fever,
ulcers, piles, inflammations, abdominal and general pains, intestinal worms, thirst, bruises, infertility,
skin problems, etc. This article is focused on the characteristics of Gloriosa superba, distribution, habitat,
plant propagation, source of colchicine, and potential medicinal use."

This species is potential for oranmental plant because the flower and the fruit are very attractive and also the canopy structure looks interesting, especially for garden plant. "ABSTRACT
Inventory of plant species was conducted in area surrounding Wamena Biologi Botanic Gardens in 2013. Observation and interview, completed with literature study was carried out to enrich our understanding about these species utilisation by local community. This study found 28 species grew in the surrounding area of Wamena Biologi Botanic Garden was utilized by local community in Wamena as foods, fuel, crafts and daily tools, house and fence construction, traditional medicines and antiseptics as well as ornamental plants."

"The genus Huperzia is an epiphitic fern of the family lycopodiaceae which has potential value as an ornamental plant. However, information on its usage, cultivation, and conservation aspects are still limited. Bogor Botanic Garden as an ex-situ conservation institution plays an important role in conserving the genus. Exploration activities have been done in many places in Indonesia. "One of the genera that can be found in Bogor Botanical Gardens plant collection is Ficus (Moraceae). This genus has several habitus, one of which is hemiepiphyte. There are several stages of hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. growth process. It starts from the epiphytic phase to the last phase as a strangler that can kill the host tree. Hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. has a very important role in terms of improving gardens ecological function. However, hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. need to be properly managed in order not to destroy the host plant especially when it is a plant collection with particular value."
