""Few books address the sensitive issue of Islamic education with empathy as well as critical distance as Joseph C. Liow's Islam, Education, and Reform in Southern Thailand. He examines global networks of religious learning within a local Thai as well as regional Asian context by brilliantly revealing the intersections between religion, politics and modernity in an accessible and illuminating manner. Traditional educational institutions rarely receive such sensitive and balanced treatment. Liow's book is a tour de force and mandatory reading for policy-makers, academics and all of those interested in current affairs." - Ebrahim Moosa, Associate Professor of Islamic Studies, Department of Religion, Associate Director, Duke Islamic Studies Center (DISC), Duke University, USA"

"Road Funds, financed from user charges; have been practiced in many countries in securing more
reliable funding for rock The idea of an of budget source of funding is appealing. But they are most
effective where they form part of a broader strategy to manage roads in a more business-like way on a
fee-for-service basis: the link between user charges - tariffs for road use ~ and road expenditures,
reinforced by user participation in their oversight creates a sense of ownership and puts pressure on
road agencies for greater transparency, accountability, and efficiency. This is in tune with Indonesia 's
moves towards better governance and democratic accountability under decentralization. This paper
discusses the paradigm shifts that are now taking place and considers them as the rationales behind the
attempt to establish a road fund in Indonesia.

"Metaphors have been always interesting to explore since they are able to represent many things, one of which is feelings. Article examined the metaphorical sentences which expressed emotions found in Lisa Kleypas's the Rain shadow Road. Library research was conducted to find the kinds of emotions which were expressed by the metaphorical sentences. It was also done to figure out what the metaphors refer to. Another objective was to reveal the most dominant emotion which appeared through the metaphors expressed in the novel. The analysis used metaphor theory to compare the dictionary meaning and the metaphorical one. The result shows that there are various emotions which are expressed through the metaphorical sentences. Happiness is found as the most dominant emotion which appears in the novel.
