ABSTRAKUlin Wood or Eusideroxlyn Zwageri (Teijsm. & Binn.) is a member of Lauraceace which endemic from Kalimantan Islan. Its already known as wood with good quality widely used, so that become category of nerable (vulnerable). Eusideroxlyon zwageri with recalcitrant seeds is chalenge in seed storage as ex situ conservation. In support of this, the seed Bank of Bogor Botanical Garden made an effort to store recalcitrant seed from Eusideroxlylon zwageri with the addition of spaghnum moss media and store at 16-18 C / humidity (RH) 55-65%, with periodic germination was carried out. Seed sorage of E. zwageri from february 5, 2016 (MC = 92.25%) until august 12, 2017 (MC = 46%) with 6 germination tests were conducted 100% of the seeds germinated well, while the 7 th germination on april 6, 2017 (KA=41.83%) only 70% germinate"

"Infeksi bakteri Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus MRSA merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan dengan prevalensi yang tinggi di Asia, khususnya Indonesia dengan kepadatan penduduk yang juga tinggi sehingga berpengaruh terhadap penyebaran penyakit infeksi ini. Hingga saat ini, vankomisin merupakan antibiotik yang dapat digunakan untuk menangani infeksi MRSA. Untuk itu, perlu dikembangkan alternatif antibiotik agar dapat mencegah peningkatan penyakit infeksi akibat MRSA. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun kayu ulin Eusideroxylon zwageri terhadap MRSA dengan melihat konsentrasi hambat minimum KHM dan konsentrasi bunuh minimum KBM.
Penelitian menggunakan metode makrodilusi ekstrak daun kayu ulin Eusideroxylon zwageri dan antibiotik vankomisin sebagai pembanding. Konsentrasi bakteri MRSA dalam penelitian ini sesuai dengan Mc Farland 0,5. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi kekeruhan pada tabung di setiap konsentrasi dan tumbuh koloni bakteri pada agar Mueller Hinton yang menunjukkan adanya bakteri MRSA. Oleh karena itu, dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun kayu ulin Eusideroxylon zwageri pada konsentrasi 1280 g/mL hingga 0,625 g/mL tidak memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap MRSA.
Bacterial infection of Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus MRSA is one of the health problem with high prevalence in Asia, especially Indonesia with high population density that influence the spread of this infectious disease. Until now, vancomycin is an antibiotic that can be used to treat MRSA infection. It is necessary to develop alternative antibiotic in order to prevent the increase of infection due to MRSA. This study was conducted to determine the antibacterial activity of ironwood Eusideroxylon zwageri leaf extract against MRSA to see the minimum inhibitory concentration MIC and the minimum bactericidal concentration MBC. This research used macrodilution method with ironwood Eusideroxylon zwageri leaf extract and vancomycin as a comparison. Concentration of MRSA in this study based on Mc Farland 0,5. The results showed turbidity occured in tubes at each concentrations and bacterial colonies grown on Mueller Hinton Agar that indicate the presence of MRSA. Therefore, from this study we can conclude that the ironwood Eusideroxylon zwageri leaf extract at concentration of 1280 g mL until 0,625 g mL do not have antibacterial activity against MRSA."

"The genus Huperzia is an epiphitic fern of the family lycopodiaceae which has potential value as an ornamental plant. However, information on its usage, cultivation, and conservation aspects are still limited. Bogor Botanic Garden as an ex-situ conservation institution plays an important role in conserving the genus. Exploration activities have been done in many places in Indonesia. Until now, Bogor Botanic Garden has collected several specimens from North and West Sumatra and Maluku."

"One of the genera that can be found in Bogor Botanical Gardens plant collection is Ficus (Moraceae). This genus has several habitus, one of which is hemiepiphyte. There are several stages of hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. growth process. It starts from the epiphytic phase to the last phase as a strangler that can kill the host tree. Hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. has a very important role in terms of improving gardens ecological function. However, hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. need to be properly managed in order not to destroy the host plant especially when it is a plant collection with particular value."

ABSTRAKGaharu is a fragrant wood that has been used in religious, medicinal and aromatic properties. Six genera (24 species) of the family Thymelaeaceae (Aetoxylon, Aquilaria, Enkleia, Gyrunops, Gonystylus, Gyrinops, and Gonystylus (9 species) are cultivated in the Bogor Botanical Garden. All species og Aquilaria and Gyrinops were listed in appendix II of the CITES. "
