"Majalah Mingguan Tempo edisi bahasa Inggris menghadirkan laporan khusus bertajuk "Special Report Religion?. Laporan ini mengangkat hasil survei yang dilakukan oleh PPIM IAIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Hasil survei tersebut digunakan sebagai data pendukung dalam membahas radikalisme Islam di Indonesia, penerapan syariat Islam dan jihad. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memerikan Konstruksi wacana radikalisme Islam, syariat Islam dan jihad dalam "Special Report Religion? Tempo (SRRT).Analisis wacana model Michel Foucault digunakan untuk mendekati korpus penelitian, untuk memerikan struktur atau kontruksi wacana (discursive formations) yang dibangun "Special Report Religion? mengenai radikalisme Islam dan aspek-aspeknya (syariat Islam dan jihad). Konsep mitos Roland, Barthes juga diterapkan untuk melihat wacana (pengetahuan) yang telah dikembangkan dan mendominasi paradigma pemahaman radikalisme Islam. Konstruksi wacana diperoleh dengan memerikan statement yang dibangun dalam kumpulan artikel serta arsip foto SRRT, dan menganalisis ketaksesuaian dalam konstruksinya. Kedisiplinan dalam bertutur dan seleksi berita serta foto menentukan jenis wacana dominan dalam SRRT mengenai radikalisme Islam. Analisis ini tidak bersifat kasuis dengan tujuan membenarkan maupun menyalahkan kontruksi wacana yang dibangun laporan tersebut. Analisis akan mengungkapkan rejim wacana, sebuah cara pandang dan mengungkapkan radikalisme Islam versi "Special Report Religion" Tempo.Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan masih dominannya paradigma lama mengenai radikalisme Islam, syariat Islam dan jihad dalam SRRT. Walaupun SRRT telah menyajikan cara memaknai radikalisme Islam yang beragam, wacana yang termarjinalkan di dalamnya masih mampu dilacak untuk mencari pengetahuan spesifik (wacana) dominan. Pada akhirnya, SRRT hanya merupakan bagian dan kelanjutan dari wacana global mengenai radikalisme Islam, syariat Islam dan jihad."

"Tesis ini adalah hasil penelitian kualitatif dengan studi dokumen sebagai teknik utamanya yang mengidentifftasi wacana radikalisme kelompok Isiam, sekaligus melakukan kritik metodologis serp konstruksi model analisis dan skenario radikalisme. Gagasan mengenai konstruksi wacana radikalisme-secara implisit-melekat dengan Islam dan seolah-olah hal memiliki oposisi biner dengan barat. Konsepsi pengetahuan terkait gejala radikalisme yang diadopsi oleh setiap agen memungkinkan mereka untuk melakukan sebuah proses reproduksi pengetahuan mengenai wacana radikalisme. Setiap agen justru tidak sekedar melakukan upaya mereproduksi pengetahuan mengenai wacana radikalisme, melainkan melakukan elaborasi pengetahuan dengan berusaha mengkonstruksi indikator dan parameter radikalisme. Tipologi, model analisis, dan skenario tentang radikalisme kelompok Islam menjadi alternatif pilihan bagi deteksi dini radikalisme. Skenario radikalisme kelompok Islam dapat digunakan sebagai deteksi dini radikalisme dengan pengembangan tiga tipe skenario yakni harmonis dan teror.

This qualitative study identified Islamic group radicalism discourse, provide methodological critique, and construct scenario and model analysis or radicalism using documents studies. The idea of radicalism discourse construction implicitly embedded to Islam as if having binary opposition to the west. Conception of knowledge related to radicalism symtoms which were adopted by each agent enables them to perform a knowledge reproduction process about radicalism discourse. Each agent would not only make any effort to reproduce knowledge about radicalism discourse, but also elaborate the knowledge by constructing the radicalism parameters an indicators. T1pology, analysis model, and scenario about Islamic group radicalism is alternative for early detection of radicalism. Islamic group radicalism secenario can be used as early detection of radicalism bay develop three types of scenario: harmonious and terror."

"This paper is a critical reflection on radicalism phenomenon which emerges at the heart of Islamic education, especially at madrasah and Islamic boarding school, which is enhanced more by its development at schools and campus. This educational institution is chosen since it is at this place the character development is begun as a cadre forming facility. The aspiration of radical Islamic group is to change a state, replace its basis as well as its law.
