ABSTRACTTugas Akhir ini membahas tentang pengaruh gerakan perempuan dalam keberhasilan legalisasi aborsi di Uruguay. Dalam penjelasannya nanti, akan dianalisis bagaimana RUU Hak Seksual dan Reproduksi yang telah dijatuhi veto oleh presiden Tabare Vazquez pada tahun 2008, namun dapat dilegalisasi di bawah kepemimpinan presiden Jose Mujica pada tahun 2012. Penelitian ini akan melihat peluang-peluang politik apa saja yang mendorong dilegalisasinya aborsi di Uruguay. Mulai dari keberadaan organisasi-organisasi perempuan, kaukus perempuan dalam parlemen, dan presiden yang menjabat.
ABSTRACTThis thesis will explore the strategy of woman movements on the success of the legalization of abortion in Uruguay. The central analysis will be on how the draft of the Sexual and Reproductive Law that had been vetoed by President Tabare Vazquez in 2008 was re appealed and legalized under the government of President Jose Mujica in 2012. This writing will look on the political opportunities that support the legalization of abortion in Uruguay, such as the existence of woman organizations, the woman caucus inside the parliament, and the political views of the serving president."
