"Perilaku eksploitatif atas alam seringkali berkaitan dengan kegiatan ekonomi ekstraktif. Untuk memperoleh lebih banyak produksi dan pertumbuhan berarti bahan baku dari alam harus diubah menjadi komoditas. Dalam tesis ini saya mengemukakan bahwa aktivitas eksploitatif atas alam juga bisa merupakan akibat diskontinuitas dalam kosmologi dengan sepenuhnya mengadopsi nilai-nilai baru, moralitas dan rasionalitas budaya baru yang kemudian menjadi dominan. Agama (dalam hal ini Kristen) berperan besar dalam mengubah ontologi animistik yang tidak melihat status hierarkis antara manusia dan alam menjadi ontologi dualistik yang menampilkan manusia sebagai makhluk istimewa di antara yang lain. Namun demikian, sebagai upaya untuk ikut serta dalam pelestarian alam, ontologi baru yang dominan ini melalui konsep penatagunaan, menempatkan manusia sebagai peran sentral dalam menjaga keseimbangan alam.

Exploitative behavior over nature often relates to the extractive economic activities. To gain more production and growth means raw materials from nature must be converted into a commodity. In this thesis I argued that exploitative activity over nature could also be a result of discontinuity in cosmology by fully adopting new values, morality and rationality of a new culture that later became dominant. Religion (in this case Christianity) plays a big role in changing animistic ontology that sees no hierarchical status between human and nature into dualistic ontology that presents human as special beings among the others. Nevertheless, as an attempt to participate in nature conservation, this new dominant ontology through the concept of stewardship, places human as a central role in keeping the balance of nature."

"ABSTRAK<>br>Skripsi ini mengambil tema ontologi dengan berangkat dari Being sebagai masalah utama mengenai asal kehadirannya. Skripsi ini mempermasalahkan perihal dari mana Being berasal dan kemana Being seharusnya kembali. Dijelaskan melalui dua tokoh filsuf yaitu Martin Heidegger yang menjelaskan bagaimana Being harus dimulai dari entitas yang mempertanyakannya, sedangkan Alain Badiou menjelaskan bagaimana Being adalah kumpulan dari multiplisitas atau keragaman yang hadir dikarenakan event atau keretakan hingga menyebabkan hadirnya being sebagai realitas seperti sekarang. Dengan metode kajian pustaka dan analitik-induksi yang menganalisa suatu konsep pemikiran lalu mengembangkannya dengan suatu hipotesis. Sehingga pada akhirnya realitas merupakan ketidaksanggupan Being dalam memahami void. Void merupakan kekosongan sempurna dan tidak terikat oleh hukum apapun.

ABSTRACT<>br>This research discusses about ontological discourse which starts from Being as the main problem regarding its origin. This research problematized about the origin of Being. The origin of Being was explained by Martin Heidegger and Alain Badiou. From Heidegger, he explained how Being must be understand from the entity who questioned it, and the other hand, Badiou explained that Being is a multiple of multiplicity because of event come through and then being turns out to be a reality as it is now. For doing a conceptual analysis and for making a hypothesis by used literature study and analytics induction. The void is a critic towards incapability of Being in creating the reality. Void is a perfection of emptiness and not determined by the laws."
