"Writing Material Culture History examines the methodologies currently used in the historical study of material culture. Touching on archaeology, art history, literary studies and anthropology, the book provides history students with a fundamental understanding of the relationship between artefacts and historical narratives. The role of museums, the impact of the digital age and the representations of objects in public history are just some of the issues addressed in a book that brings together key scholars from around the world. A range of artefacts, including a 16th-century Peruvian crown and a 19th-century Alaskan Sea Lion overcoat, are considered, illustrating the myriad ways in which objects and history relate to one another. Bringing together scholars working in a variety of disciplines, this book provides a critical introduction for students interested in material culture, history and historical methodologies."

Material culture is one of the essential aspects of the elements that make up a house that is present in physical form. The housing adjustment process that presents the material culture in it is called home personalization. In this study, I want to examine and explain the understanding of home personalization through the material culture in it. Therefore, I try to see how the whole process of home personalization is in home activities with material culture and other aspects. The writing of this thesis uses a descriptive design with a qualitative case study. The results of this thesis explain that first, the level of human awareness in the application of a series of home personalization processes can increase the level of satisfaction from the end result of the process, usually strongly influenced by the level of urgency of the home personalization trigger. Second, other factors that influence the process outside of literature review are found in the case studies, such as financial conditions and residents' priority scale of house adjustments. Third, through case studies, it can be learned that home personalization has a linear and one-way process."

"Using Mathematics to Understand the World: How Culture Promotes Children's Mathematics offers fundamental insight into how mathematics permeates our lives as a way of representing and thinking about the world.
Internationally renowned experts Terezinha Nunes and Peter Bryant examine research into children’s mathematical development to show why it is important to distinguish between quantities, relations and numbers. Using Mathematics to Understand the World presents a theory about the development of children’s quantitative reasoning and reveals why and how teaching about quantitative reasoning can be used to improve children’s mathematical attainment in school. It describes how learning about the analytical meaning of numbers is established as part of mathematics at school but quantitative reasoning is emphasized less even though it is increasingly acclaimed as essential for thinking mathematically and for using mathematics to understand the world.
This essential text is for all students of mathematics education, developmental psychology and cognitive psychology. By including activities for parents and professionals to try themselves, it may help you to recognize your own quantitative reasoning."

ABSTRACT
This study discusses the Hidayatullah Mosque as a result of the hybridity process that occurred in Jakarta during the XVII - XX century. This study aims to reveal variations in building shapes and components from an architectural and ornamental perspective that are influenced by various building styles in Jakarta, such as Betawi, Arabic, Chinese, and Colonial building styles. The method used in this research comes from the archaeological research method of Sharer and Ashmore, namely formulation, implementation, data collection, data processing, analysis, interpretation, and publication. The influence of local (Betawi) and foreign (Arabic, Chinese, and colonial) building styles can be found in the plans and foundations, the main hall, roofs, towers and decorations. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the Hidayatullah Mosque is a cultural heritage building resulting from a cross found from its building components."
