"Using data from the European Community Household Panel for six European countries (Austria, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Spain) for the period 1995–2001, this article investigates how disability affects workers' absenteeism. The results show that workers with disabilities are absent more often than workers without disabilities. This finding is obtained after controlling for individuals' self-reported health, visits to doctors and nights spent in hospital. The severity of disability is also a relevant factor in higher absenteeism. The total effect of disability on absenteeism amounts to a marginal increase of six to 26 days per year (depending on the country)."

"This article explains people's perceptions of how cryptocurrencies impact global markets and how this instrument has the potential to replace existing currencies. The rapid growth in the use of cryptocurrencies globally is believed to make many people switch from conventional transaction instruments to contemporary instruments. Even though cryptocurrency is on the rise and many people are starting to accept it, some remain pessimistic and think that it will not last long This study focuses on public perceptions regarding the issue of Quadriga Fintech Solutions Corp., one of the largest online cryptocurrency trading companies in Canada. Quadriga survived the first cryptocurrency boom and bust cycle when Bitcoin's value skyrocketed to $25,000 and dropped back to $4,200 all in one year and has since filed for bankruptcy. By using the cognitive dissonance theory (Festinger,1950), this article aims to explain the public's perception of cryptocurrencies in the news around the Quadriga issue. The article explains how people perceive cryptocurrency based on the Quadriga issue and how it affects their perception of the instrument.
