"[The complexity of software is continuously growing as a result of today’s interconnected business processes. Governance of architecture and technology strategy helps to ensure coherence of software and avoid excessive complexity. At the same time software development needs room for creativity and empowerment to provide solutions to business problems of increasing complexity. The book looks at this software dilemma from the perspectives of CIOs/CTOs, software architects, and auditors. Each of these groups has different interests which need to be considered, reconciled, and balanced. CIOs/CTOs are provided with the boundary conditions they have to establish assuring the achievement of strategic objectives. Architects and auditors find proven concepts for effectively assessing software projects and architectures, as well as for effectively communicating identified issues to responsible persons. The book is based on the author’s long experience in software engineering, governance, and auditing.

"Münch and his co-authors aim at providing knowledge that enables readers to develop useful process models that are suitable for their own purposes. They start with the basic concepts. Subsequently, existing representative process models are introduced, followed by a description of how to create individual models and the necessary means for doing so (i.e., notations and tools). Lastly, different possible usage scenarios for process management are highlighted (e.g. process improvement and software process simulation)."

ABSTRACT
PT Malloci Software Solution Malloci is a software house in Indonesia. Malloci has three divisions, one of them is the Development Division. This division has a duty and function in making software project. In the process of the project, there was a problem in a discontinuity of knowledge between the old employee and alternate employee who were involved in the project. One of the reason in discontinuity of knowledge is knowledge that relevant for the process of the project was managed manually and less controlled. This is because The Development Division of Malloci has not had an application or knowledge management system KMS in managing their existing knowledge. The purpose of this study is to produce a model of KMS design required by Malloci Development Division in order to solve the problem occurred. There are two methodologies used such as the identification of knowledge management solution that are used in requirement analysis phase of KMS and system prototyping methodologies that are used in KMS prototype design phase. Knowledge Management Process KM Process that will be developed in this study are Internalization, Combination, Direction, Routines, Externalization, and Exchange. The result of this study is an earlier stage of KMS prototype that has many features to support the KM Process that has been developed, such as e learning, content management system, discussion forum, and team collaboration tools. The suggestions for future research are refinements in KMS prototype, implementation support from management, and further research about impact of knowledge management system on company performance and effectiveness of the use of knowledge management systems in the company."
