"Semi-endogenous growth model emphasises human capital accumulation and technological advances in supporting economic growth. While most countries in the world lack the ability to accumulate their human capital and advance in technology, the privilege of research and development lies on part of developed nations. The increase in the stock of knowledge can come from different interactions with other countries in the world. But the crucial point to make is what underlies these differences among nations in the world. This study modifies Jones model by embedding characteristics that different countries in the world. Such an attempt is directed to produce a more general model of semi-endogenous growth to be applicable to all countries in the world. The end result of this study is to present a more general model that will be easily applicable to different countries in the world."

"Penelitian ini menganalisa faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh pada pertumbuhan ekonomi dan kecenderungan tingkat disparitas antar Kabupaten/Kota di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung pada periode 2005-2012. Penelitian ini menggunakan model regresi data panel fixed effect dan menggunakan indeks Williamson serta indeks Theil untuk mengukur disparitas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada periode 2005-2012, (1) investasi pemerintah, pendapatan asli daerah (PAD), tenaga kerja serta aglomerasi industri signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. (2) Terjadi disparitas yang fluktuatif dengan kecenderungan menurun dan tergolong rendah. (3) Tingkat disparitas antar daerah di pulau Bangka lebih lebar dibandingkan dengan tingkat disparitas antar daerah di pulau Belitung dan disparitas antar pulau Bangka dan pulau Belitung.

The objective of this study is to analyze the factors that affecting economic growth and disparities trend between Province of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung districts on the period of 2005-2012. To measure the disparities, this study uses panel data regression with fixed effects model, Williamson index and Theil index. The results of this study indicate that on 2005-2012, (1) government investment, regional income, labor and industrial agglomeration have significant and positive effect on economic growth in the Province of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung districts. (2) There are disparities fluctuation with a declining trend and relatively low. (3) The level of disparity between districts in Bangka Island is wider than the disparity between districts in the Belitung Island and Bangka Belitung Island."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa ketimpangan regional antar kabupaten/kota di Propinsi Kalimantan Timur selama tahun 2000-2011. Peneliti menganalisa sigma konvergensi menggunakan koefisien variasi (CV) dan juga melakukan uji empiris beta konvergensi dengan dan tanpa memasukan efek spasial ke dalam regresi data panel. Hasilnya peneliti menemukan terdapat penurunan ketimpangan antarkabupaten/kota dengan semakin menurunnya peranan sektor migas. Sementara itu dengan melakukan uji beta konvergensi menggunakan data panel dinamis maka ditemukan telah terjadi konvergensi selama tahun 2000-2011. Menggunakan estimator FD GMM laju konvergensi dengan mengontrol spatial dependence lebih cepat dibandingkan model tanpa mengontrol spatial dependence.

In this study, we examine regional income inequality and GDP per capita growth convergence Kalimantan Timur during the period from 2000-2011. We examine regional income inequality using standar deviation of GDP per capita weighted coefficient of variation (CV) while we examine the GDP per capita growth convergence using panel data regression with or without spatial dependence. We find that regional income inequality as measured excluding oil and gas sector show a declining trend during the period. Meanwhile, the convergence analysis shows that during the period from 2000-2011 the GDP per capita growth convergence. We use FD GMM estimators for dynamics panels. Applying FD GMM estimator we obtain a speed convergence with spatial dependence is higher than speed convergence without spatial dependence."
