The Chinese in United States were the early immigrants who contributed the forming of United States’ culture. They lived in an enclave called Chinatown. As the time goes by, Chinatown became an unique region in United States because this neighborhood was the perfect mirror example of the Chinese lives that were untouched by the Americans from their economy, social, cultural, politics lives, including their dark social life which was the tongs phenomenon. The purpose of this research is to add more items to the historiography of the Chinese in United States. The sources being used in this research are Master’s degree thesis, electronic journals, books, newspaper articles, and webpages."
