" While there are so many policier and programs launched with the aim to deal with the problems of child trafficking in Indonesiaand elsewhere in Southeast Asian countries, there is still little evidenceon the effectiveness of the programs. This reflects a lack of knowledgeand accurate data on the phenomenon in order to formulate aneffective policy and program. There is a tendency that manyimplementing agencies are busy with running programs or projects onchild trafficking suggested by donors and leaving a little room toquestion the broader context of the phenomenon or the relevance of theprogram with the existing local situation. Therefore. there is a heed tobuild research and analytical skills within organizations dealing withprogram on child trafficking to enable themselves to analyze criticallythe problems mm' related programs/projects offered. A systematicknowledge derived from research will provide a strong data as thebasis of any action taken. It will provide a more derailed andcomprehensive understanding on the magnitude and the nature of theproblem and related will increase the effectiveness of the program. Thereare various ways to build research skills among others recruiting staffs'with research knowledge/research experience that will he in charge inthe research division. conducting research training for the existingstaffs or providing internship in a research organization."

"ABSTRACTThis article discusses the role of archives of transitional justice and dealing with the past (DWP) mechanisms when determining the fate of missing persons. The concept of dealing with the past, the terms enforced disappearance and missing person, and the specific role of archives in periods of transition are examined. Subsequently, specific questions and challenges related to access and use of archives by DWP mechanisms, including those mechanisms with a mandate to determine the fate of missing persons, are described. Many questions related to access to archives, information management and preservation of records are similarly applicable to DWP mechanisms in general and to specific mechanisms mandated to search for missing persons. The article provides some examples of Statesobligations related to maintaining and providing access to archives that could assist in the search for missing persons under international law and policy. The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of the preservation and protection of archives relevant for dealing with the past. It further highlights the need to grant DWP mechanisms, especially those aimed at determining the fate of missing persons, access to those archives."

Thispaper attempts to elaborate interlinks between migration, the phenomena ofundocumented labor, trafficking and politics in Southeast Asia."

"Trafficking in women and children for forced prostitution is oneof the fastest growing transnational criminal activities in the world today.This illegal activity is considered the third largest source of profit fortransnational organized crime, after drugs and weapons, generatingbillions of dollars annually. Although many countries are concerned aboutthe problem, we know that not one of them has made much progress instopping this trafficking in women and children. This paper presents thepreliminary results obtained from on empirical study of the problem inMalaysia. Specifically, the study .seeks to reveal the magnitude of tireproblem in Malaysia. and to determine the major sources anti destinationsof the women and children who are being trafficked. In additions, the effortsof the Malaysian government to curb the problem are being studied. Thepaper suggests that we should fool at the problem from the perspective ofthe " human security " concept, which puts the security and well being of theindividuals of a country as a top priority, and thereby strengthens thecountry as a whole, including its security as a stare."
